@kat6981 I dont think thats what they meant, the gearbox team have created some of the survivors of the void content including aphelian santuary and void jailers
It's very different looking already, but it's much better than no more ror2 updates. Hell, I'd say it looks really good even. Gearbox isn't even a poor studio like some companies out there, right?

Honestly never expected this, but i guess it truly is a untapped part of the story.
Aurelionite has felt the flaws and qualities of both brothers. Lived for them to both fall.
They have their chance with no more opposition of their makers, they will be free, and they will make their move.
Before the Void takes them all in the end.

It took so long specifically BECAUSE they were remaking console so they would be able to release dlcs at the same time. The previous port was an absolute mess.

Im super hyped for this! Im hoping for new survivors mostly but the new stages also look rediculosly cool!
The fact these are the people who made one of my childhood favorite game series and are now working on one of my newer obsessions is so crazy all i hope is that if they ever make a new Borlands game that they add a risk of rain 2 easter egg (if they haven't already)

So now the Paladin character concept (that the mod is based on) is canon, except now he's the villain? Fucking awesome!

@@Repa-uo9ms nah, because of it was, he wouldn't have referred to himself separately, as well as Mythrix and Aurelionite as being influences behind him
"Her perfection is a part of me" (Aurelionite)
"His passion is part of me" (Providence)
"His hatred and loneliness is part of me" (Mythrix)
The original Paladin lore concept was that he was a creation of Providence and Mythrix, which makes this line
"Our freedom is long overdue" (in reference to Aurelionite as well)
Make sense. They probably took the Paladin concept and brought it back from the dead, making this new character. He was probably a creation made after Aurelionite, which makes the process that went into making her "perfect", also apply to him.
And with the power/heart/soul of the boss we can unlock...the paladin character!
@@Repa-uo9mshe never died. Providences “death” in the first game isn’t a death and decay like mithrixes. Providence accepts defeat, and teleports away.
@@TheMantisLord50in the lore says the gate for the moon can only can be open if providence die, so yes, he died in the first game.
the music is so good! I couldnt really understand the dialogue behind it, but he did say "Seekers of the Storm" im 90% sure of it.
was not expecting a new game and a new DLC; gearbox are really working hard, but i hope they prioritize quality in both and any other future risk of rain titles/DLC
The new game is actually being developed by Hopoo games not gearbox so with two different teams working on the two different games the development of one will not effect the other

I loved Providence in the original, his design and lore were surprisingly intruiging and although I know it might not make sense lore wise I believe something could happen. I'd love to see an official Providence in RoR2.
Imagine if it was in lore though, like him having some power over creation of life, saved himself- But is broken, and now seeks vengeance for his brother (Oh... what a cycle). or something

@lataiWinrothey mentioned that the reason that it took so long to update console was that they were copying the codebase so they can deliver updates at the same time. Hopefully its true.

@@Gervardo I'm pretty sure it's the Aurelionite speaking. He says "Perfection is part of me. His (Providence's) passion is part of me. His (Mithrix's) hatred and loneliness is part of me."
It seems like the Lemurians built some sort of idol for Providence that Aurelionite was somehow taking control of, and was then attacked by a swarm of heretics or whatever that race is called. Now he's a corrupted golden titan that is no longer kept prisoner on the Gold Coast and he's pissed off.
This looks very promising so far.
