Klause Meine (the singer) is singing in English. The Moskva is a river that runs through Moscow, Russia and also runs through Gorky Park in Moscow. Potsdamer Platz in Berlin is one of the places the Berlin Wall could be clearly seen as well as approach the wall. Construction of the Berlin Wall was begun August 13, 1961and German citizens on both sides of the wall began to tear down the wall November 9, 1989. The fall of the wall helped in reuniting West and East Germany into one nation on October 3, 1990.

This is a beautiful type of rock ballad about a lot of changes happening in so many countries at that time. I feel like the song manages to capture a lot of the emotions being felt by people who experienced them.

Hello from Germany! This song is a massive song about hope. Hope that the world could become a better place after the Berlin Wall fell. The 90s were so special, so carefree and free because there was this hope. It makes me sad that this hope could not be fulfilled. Love and Peace from Berlin!

This song always takes me back to time when we truly thought the world was becoming a better world. The Cold War was ending and it just seemed like we were headed to a better less scary future.
The very first time I heard this was while watching a Filipino cover band in Singapore. They nailed it, (including the whistle) I had been at sea so didn't get to hear it before that.
I LOVE the Scorpions.
I rock with them, but this my favorite song.

Scorpions lived through soviet east Germany, all the cold war crap, they also had Rock you like a hurricane and Still loving you. This was long ago but Putin now occupies Ukraine in 2023.

I think they were the first metal band to every play a concert in Moscow Russia. Moskva basically means a person that lives in Moscow.
Russia has a huge metal music fan base but the Communist government didn't like it at all and there was a time they would not let record or tapes of western music of any type in to Russia everything was bootlegged in.
At this time East and west Berlin Germany were split.
One side was Communist and the other was a free state.
Young people have never studied history of this part of the world so do some research and learn about it.
Everybody should know about this time in the world.
