I enjoyed the video, but it would be helpful if you could actually show the things you're talking about. For example, when you mention doing a seasonal activity, I have no idea what you're referring to. There are so many blinking lights and shiny things in the game that it's difficult to figure out where to find what you're talking about.
Man this was exactly the video I was looking for! Took a break after Shadowkeep and just yesterday got back into it again after the recent HumbleBundle where you get all the other DLCs for like 40 bucks. Logging in yesterday for the 1st time in so long truly was terrifying. I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed and nearly rage-quit out of the game again because my anxiety was at an all-time high because of it lol. After this video, I finally feel ready again to hop back in today! All of a sudden the game does not seem so overwhelming anymore for a returning player. Thanks a ton!
yeah idek where to start i miss in destiny 1 you just buy one dlc per year, and get everything with straightforward playthrough. now its like... theres nothing to work for
I'm a returning player, having not played in some years. Shaxx basically gave me 1810 gear within the first hour of playing a new character so I don't really know what to do next to benefit my character. Already feels like I've reached endgame without any real direction on what to do next.
There’s still plenty to do, the into the light chest by Shaxx was a way for new/returning players to hop into the new free stuff without having to grind, you can get exotics you’re missing so you can build craft, start messing with some builds, get some better weapons for endgame activities and the final shape if you’re sticking around for that
@@jamo7259 I don't know if this is how he did it, but I went into the hall of champions and got the gift of the thunder gods chest. Gives you a full set of 1810 armor, and three weapons, including an exotic piece of armor and weapons. I'm in the same boat as him now, where I have max armor and I don't know what to do before the final shape comes out.
Just got the game with the expansions on sale. I needed this video since I was told it can be overwhelming jumping back in. Last time I played destiny 2 was when it first came out and I ran through the campaign.
@@joshkeogh5112 if you have someone that can walk you through and watch guides you may enjoy it to an extent. For me, I only found myself liking the game when I was with my friends since they knew the game inside and out so I'd just follow along with them. Whenever I'd boot the game up to play solo, I'd get analysis paralysis and log off after about 30 min of gametime(most of that time spent trying to figure out what I should do next and watching guides like these)
First time player of Destiny 2, and yes its complex but also fun, at 53 and only been gaming for 2 years its a real challenge to understand the mechanics. As i play Division2 i kind of understand the week turn around, and looting, and getting the best gear, but even figuring out what gear is good for what class of person you are i.e im playing as Hunter, and ive noticed hes not great at jumping lol, but again i guess its how you build him/her/it lol. Its fun, definitely never thought i would play it..and yes for me youtube is my favorite guid of any game.
I played in beta and the first 2 months after launch, and then never touched the game since. Tried it again today, and oh boy it's a totally different game. I can't even play the original campaign anymore which I loved so much 😭
So, it's Oct 18th. I've been off and on for a couple of years but just finally knuckled down to play. (My main game got boring at 2000 hours. ESO) So, time to change speeds. I have a warlock main, but, really want to go with a hunter main. I am unable to start the beyond light campaign. I obviously cannot finish Cayde-6's quest line for the memories. It's been bugged a long while now. But, my warlock has stasis and straind and prismatic. My Hunter can only access the 3 first originals, I cannot hit launch on any other campaigns, when I went to Europa to start Variks quest line, he isn't there. The door is shut. So, wtf. Am I locked out of everything but the final shape?
Bungie removed the original 'main campaign' of the game, Red War, along with the first few DLC campaigns they released. Available DLC campaigns right now are; - Shadowkeep - Beyond Light (adds the Stasis subclass) - The Witch Queen - Lightfall (adds the Strand subclass) Other than that, there's not really a main story in the game anymore. It may be added later on tho but I think removing it was dumb
@@Clayviour Ah that clears things up for me. I started with a mini campaign and it said to continue it if I'm a beginner player (which I am) or to pass it all if I'm a experienced D2 player, and the campaign just vanished as I did a bit of it and I've been lost trying to figure out what I did wrong 😅 thank god I found this comment it was going half mad for the last 2 days trying to figure out what's going on hahab
Thank you for this one. It would help a lot if you had put the actual URLs to tools/sites into the description or at least a pinned comment. As a new player I'm super annoyed by how unstructured everything in this game is (and the dumb platforming sh*t lol). Also everything is a bullet sponge and takes forever to kill. The game is not respecting the players time. That auto group finding thingy only working for low difficulty is a sad joke. Maybe I'm just too old but that "great" puzzles are... not the cats pjs. Why the tower zone sometimes takes up to 10 minutes to load in a game that's out for forever I can not understand. The game is fun when you can actually shoot something and the lore is great after watching a work week worth of youtube videos explaining the who and the what.
Thank you for this video. I loved d2 back at its first year. Then, i somehow never continued playing because there was something that frustrated me. Is it really true that bungie removed the red campaign, and for example also the great intro mission? 😮
I know this sounds dumb.... but the main thing that made me want to try destiny is the "thunderclap" melee..... anyone mind answering where/how to get it?
Hey don’t know if you’ll see this by now but, All you really need is glimmer (at least 25k which is easy) and then you go to “Ikora Ray” in the tower (the woman in pink with the buzzcut). She sells subclass elements. You tap inspect on the “light blue shurakin-looking one”, and then further inspect the melee icon. Mind you you are supposed to do all this with the “Titan”-class character (which I ironically think it gives u thunderclap whenever you make a new titan because it automatically starts you on arc) To use it stop moving and hold your melee button, then release (the longer you hold it the more damage it does and the further it goes).

Glad it helped

Hunters can be good at jumping as you get more control but you have to time the jumps more. Also there is an exotic called stompees that helps...

Gonna have a lot of visits with that new Humble drop 😅
You know thats right
Not a new player, but this was still great information !
Same. Veteran of D1 and D2 quit for a few years tried to get back in last year and got discouraged and quit. Wasted $$
Thanks!
if u are like me and returning to this game after taking a 2 month break

You can use fireteam finder or I would really try to find a good clan
Vanguard strikes require witch queen now?
No it was probably just the specific nightfall that week, it rotates weekly (and sometimes it happens to be a strike from a dlc)
Wow...that all sounds boring
So there's no fun and engaging content just a tedious grind for what exactly? Nothing... yeah I'm not coming back
