    When manually entering elevation data during calibration of the barometer or altimeter, why are there two prompts? In your video, you entered 0 and 45. What do both numbers represent? I’m at 89ft at home according to my phone. What two numbers should I enter?
    The reason I’m asking is because the watch said I climbed 500ft while sleeping. I figure it’s time to recalibrate.

    Hi Jim. Love the video very detailed but one problem I have, when I manually set the Barometer I can't find a key to get to the Done window to accept my settings?

    I have my borameter set to inches I guess dk really the difference in those settings the elevation is the same as my iPhone compass elevation but the rate is set to .118in per 3hr is that a good setting to get good storm warnings?

    Hi! I've bought garmin instinct tactical 2021. I used trail running mode with altimeter and I found sth bad. It does not calculate height in right way. Comparing with fenix 5, instinc determined 1.5x more height than fenix 5. Did you have any issue like that? Could you solve it? Thanks a lot!

    Every time I try to calibrate I get to where you hit the GPS button to select the elevation and it says Calibration Failed. Any ideas? Tried manually calibrating and using the GPS. Happens both ways.

    Hi is it possible to see where I was at any particular point in time during an activity I just completed. Eg I went for a bike ride and the app gave me a Google maps read out of where I went. I want to see where I was at a certain time while I was riding. I can see speeds and what times they were, but I want to know where I was when I hit these speeds. Do you know what I'm talking about?
    Thanks for your time

      If you log into garmin connect from your desktop, there used to be in the activity detail where you could get that detail as you review each point along the track. Other option is to export to gpx and import & view on garmin badecamp

      @@AvoidingChores Hey Jim the desktop works great. A little bit sensitive and fiddly but its exactly what i was looking for. Great for seeing when I was at top speed and help with getting PB's and where I need to be on the workout to beat my PB. Thanks Jim looks like your the absolute manual and go to for this. Love the watch will be asking you more things the more I use it';s other functions if that;s ok with you. Cheers

    is there a thermometer on this watch?

    • @xXTR4IRSOF7
      @xXTR4IRSOF7 3 роки тому +2

      Yes however you need to remove it from your wrist for a bit to get an accurate reading. There is also an accessory you can get for constant temp monitoring without removing the watch.

    Has anybody else had any issues regarding the ABC sensors? I've noticed that my compass is about 120 degrees off. I've tried calibrating and nothing happens. The altimeter seems to be incorrect also. Is this an issue with the watch? Do I need to send it back?

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  3 роки тому

      Id check if there’s a firmware update, then review the settings to see if it’s on auto or manual. If it’s still way off and your are still under warranty, I’d return it.

    Hello
    I would like to ask you some information on the the possible elevation accuracy issue that I heard on the web about Instinct.
    In general, i read on the web, the elevation accuracy issue is due to the sweat that is deposited in the small hole of the barometric altimeter.
    Have you had the chance to verify it?
    If yes, can you share the information you have obtained with me?
    Thank you so much

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  4 роки тому +1

      Yes - I've had some issues with elevation data. I have not looked into it deeper whether there's a setting that would work better or not. I'll have to play around with it

      Hi, I have this issue also. New watch with March 2020 updates. Elevation suddenly dropped in the middle of the uphill run. I tried 3 watches, the drop happened only on Instinct. I will try to solve this somehow as I do not want to buy new watch... And as I tried more watches I know this should not happen. Especially because we, consumers, are paying extra money for Barometer/Altimeter sensor to the Garmin company.

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  3 роки тому

      I assume you are talking about the ABC screen which shows (top to down) Compass, Elevation, Barometer. So you see when I'm on the dedicated Barometer screen that the pressure is constant or stable, it will point up or down if the trend was so.

    • @user-bd4de6hv4p

      @@AvoidingChores no, I didn't mean a barometer, but a compass. Regardless of where the compass is pointing, there is an arrow constantly pointing to the right, right below the QNH altimeter, if you have it turned on

      thank you - yes, this is what I was saying in my previous reply. This screen displays 3 data fields: Compass (top), elevation (middle) and barometer trend (bottom). So while it appears it point to the right, what is it saying that the air pressure is steady. If a storm was coming you'd see the arrow with an angle pointing down.
