    All track me is, is an activity mode that is unclassified. It's the same as the hike or walk function in practice. It just doesn't title it that way. So if you were going apple picking or to a flea market or you were mowing the lawn or something with your family and wanted to record the distance and didn't want this data to get added on to your totals in hike, walk or run , you could use Track Me. Or you could just use "Walk" and then rename the activity after the fact on Garmin Connect or Strava.

    How do we see that data saved using track me? I have an epic pro gen 2 and don’t see the option to view the recorded data.

    Hi Jim, thanks for the 411 on the Track Me option on this watch. I'm considering it for the hiking features. I think I noticed that the distance was being tracked during your demo even though you were not moving. It looked liked it advanced from zero to 0.01. Am I correct? Is there a pause feature when using the Track Me option?

      typical behaviour when stationary, you'll have have a bit of drift based on the accuracy the device has when picking up the 7-8 satellites to estimate your location and what's overhead. But yes there is an auto-pause feature which will stop the timer & tracking points which you should be able to set under the navigation settings, but I don't tens to enable that for hiking but rather when I did running.

      @@AvoidingChores Thanks for the explanation. One more question: will the auto-pause restart on its own once you start moving again or do you need to press a restart button?

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  4 роки тому +1

      It will restart on its own when you start moving. It may take a second or two once you start moving

      Thought so. Thanks.

    Why the need for that function if you already have a Hike Profile?

      What about something where there are no clear-defined paths such as jet-skiing?

    does the garmin track you like a phone does and others are able to see it? asking as if it’s a safety measure to make sure someone doesn’t get lost hiking or something like that

    Is it possible to use the tracking feature on a run? Will it record all the running related data, such as pace, cadence, heart rate,etc?

    Hi need some help how can i make my distance on track me to work it seems its not working only the timer? Thank you in advance

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  5 років тому

      either you are moving before the GPS signal estalblishes your position or something else is going on. The other thing is pressing the GPS button after you see the checkmark. Sometimes I find that activity didn't start.

      Jim Cyr thanks for replying. Im not really sure what happen but one thing ive noticed watching your video when you press gps on Track Me yours has ✅ check mark before it will show the distance and timer, in my case when i press Track Me and try to use it it will just go start the timer and the distance is frozen?? Thats my issue and ive tried everything to make it work but it seems no luck for me.

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  5 років тому

      @Tonyo Boy the only thing was that I was doing multiple videos that day, so the GPS acquisition was faster. So when you choose track me, let it sit when you see the screen before the checkmark. basically let it sit for a minute. BUT.... to rule out a few things....go outside and try to save a waypoint. see if that works. Basically want to rule out any issues getting a GPS signal

    • @Baksan_Dog1988

      Hi Jim yeah thanks for that yesi tried your advice to let it sit for a couple of second or a minute and yes it works. Thanks for that 👍🏽
      And now ive got another issue which is a very simple one, when i receive notification like text or emails and phone calls my watch seems not vibrating and only doing beep sound, i want to set it up to just on a vibrate mode when i get those notifications, where am I supposed to adjust that feature? Thank you once again.

      @@Baksan_Dog1988 I think the path from the main menu is settings | system | sounds or settings | system | phone | smart notifications

    Hi good day, can family and friends track your hike (live tracking) like on the Garmin forerunner 30?

    • @AvoidingChores
      @AvoidingChores  3 роки тому +2

      I didn’t try the live tracking feature on this, but since you need to pair the instinct to Garmin connect; I would assume that when you do a running activity the live tracking is available.
