    Got myself a 2018 M2 as well. It was my first new car and not looking to let it go anytime soon. Looking forward to see what you guys do with this one. The exhaust could be the factory upgraded MPerformance Exhaust?

    I've got a DCT LCI OG M2, it is the best M Car i've driven. The N55 is a hilarious beast of an engine, handling is beautiful. Its a thirsty car but amazing in every situation

    Best upgrade is a M perf exhaust, no power bump without a downpipe but the best sound for OG by far...

    Got the same car but with the DCT. Couldn't be happier and was lucky to find one with 3200 miles 6 months ago... just hit 5k. Anyway, I am sure F80 and 82 owners couldn't be happier with their cars, that's the reason we all have different cars lol. But my main reason to pursue an N55 LCI M2 is that it is the second rarest after the M2 CS. Wasn't made in too many numbers. Also the Competition has 40HP more but also has 400Lbs extra, and that is a looooot of weight for that little oomph. Also not planning on dping much to it, I love it as it is, maybe going catless, and that's about it.

      I didn t know the lci n55 M2 was the rarest After the CS. So if you have one in grey and manual, it will be a rare car soon.

      @williamdtt the truly rarest is a yellow one. BMW only made one from factory.

      I recommend going sportcat instead of catless. Catless you will lose the beautiful N55 tone.

    Glad I found this video.
    Just bought a 66 plate OG M2.
    My last car was a 2017 M140i, so I am very much a serial BMW owner. I think the B58 with the ZF8 was actually a better combo than the N55 and DCT in the M2, but obviously the rest of the car is on another level. First thing I noticed, the M2 suspension is MILES ahead of the M140i (which had adaptive), it just feels much more planted, and didn't have any of the M140i's wobbly rear end or feeling of bouncy rear damper action over rutted surfaces.
    This surprised me, because the M2 seems to get a lot of criticism about it's suspension damping.
    The iDrive system was a bit of a backward step, as my M140i had the newer version, but I'm getting used to it.
    My M140i was running 455bhp/634nm, and being lighter it was an absolute beast, so fast. I feel my standard M2 is noticeably slower, but it's fast enough, and I actually think I am leaving it standard.

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 2 місяці тому

      @@PrecisionMotorwerks Yes, don't get me wrong it's a fantastic engine/gearbox combo (the B58/ZF8).
      I guess if you daily the car, the softer suspension of an M lite is a lot easier to live with.
      Of course, for a weekend/fun car, a real M car is the better option. The OG M2 is so much more than just a better chassis, the whole driving experience makes every journey an occasion for me.

    Good choice, congrats lads from downunder. I've got Oct 2016 build OG F87 which has different headlights (eyebrows also lit up) and tail lights (like the more classic L shaped one better - although both front and rear have halogen bulbs...).
    Look the manual is definitely a better choice (more control, a car shouldn't shift by itself...), however, having driven the NC ND MX-5 and some other brilliant manual gearboxes, I really hate the OG F87's gearbox (not the same as M2c), especially the positions of the 3 pedals (RHD), probably the worst I've ever driven. Anyway, I still think the 7 speed DCT isn't too bad, would have got the manual back then the non Pure OG F87 did not come with a sunroof (WTF 25kg on top of our head, no use in Aussie climate but raise the centre of gravity...)
    Recommend replacing all plastic pipes under the hood (especially the charge pipe, it is guaranteed to break and pop).
    BTW: the PPF in front of the rear wheel arch (quarter panels) are factory fitted PPF, which doesn't make much sense...

    OG 6MT owner too. Best mods: sports cat, turbo inlet pure/MST V2, carbon and ally M3/4 brace, chargepipe, Ps4S 255/275 (you already got), stage 2 MHD/BM3, uprated intercooler, Suspension stock is good above 40-45mph, around town thuds shock into the chassis a bit. I went Litchfield b16 and it's very good but more NVH comes in.

    Good thing about the later LCi cars, if you fit M4 or M2 comp seats all the functions work, lumbar support and the button on top of the backs to move them forwards and back etc. Must have the same wiring as the M2 comp. It will be a PCW or Mod Stock exhaust. Recently took off my PCW exhaust as it was too much for me with a downpipe.

    • @gedam131
      @gedam131 Рік тому

      Non LCI cars also is a easy Comp seat swap. I fitted M4 Comp seats with all of the functions in my OG M2 pre LCI, no problems.

      @Mac_F87 Рік тому

      @@gedam131 strange, from what I seen the pre LCi harness wasn’t wired up to supposed lunbar or the button on the back rest. Only LCi cars since they then changed to M2 comp mid 2018 and had M4 style seats with those functions from the factory.
