I've heard the steering is quite numb like the m3/m4 f80s, is that true? Cause the smaller size is appealing but I didnt like the steering on the m3/m4/comps I've been in. Havent driven a m2 yet though
great video, for the european market it might be worth noting that the s55 m2 is very quiet in comparison to the n55 m2 due to the new particle filter needed pass regulations. one of the main reasons i went with the n55 model
Turn signals have a known fault on the M2 as well. No real known fix, just replace it with more oem parts. Fcp euro carries them now for that sweet sweet lifetime warranty.
Cost incurred so far uk … failed mot £55 on cut in front tyre made an excuse to put ps4s on the fronts £440, major bmw service £650, now when the tyres was changed kwikfit ( cheaper and had the tyres I wanted ) found my tracking to be out slightly and the camber on the front left, they can’t do camber but since I just had a major service I thought wonder if they do it on the service they don’t, but will check it for £160 and then repair for an extra £160 😂, kwikfit checked for free and wanted £111 for the fix, they don’t call them stealerships for nothing, tax is £490, alloy refurb was £250 for 2, lorry decided to cut the corner as I was coming round I didn’t want a head on I chose the kerb bloody foreign driver but you can’t tell so it all worked out in the end, the front I got ppf on £1800 if your into washing your car and keeping it nice I recommend it , every time I took it out I got another stone chip and it was really pissing me off
Thanks for the video. I’m in the market for an M2 competition, I found one that has the old non M seats in it! How is that possible? As I understand the Comp should comes with the new M seats right? Could the seats been changed?
Looking at a 2017 BMW M2. It has the M performance exhaust, and it’s only 17,000 km. However, the bottom of the vehicle is quite scratched up. The car fax report shows the previous owner did a ton of tire swaps each year. Anything else I should look at carefully?
sounds like a lot of track use or drifting. the n55 can take quiet a beating but I personally would stay away from drift/track cars. you can multiply the mileage by 10 if the car is driven on track exclusively compared to normal street driving
@@mattlau The thing is with BMWs, if they break it's going to be expensive, especially M. I would not risk it if I was you. I'd advise you to keep on looking even though the prices seem to be increasing. But trust me, once you find one in good condition you can love it unconditionally and not worry about something going bad
Wanted to shout out and say I appreciate all of the F type content. It wouldn't be comparing apples to apples I know but if you ever want to race a version of your old car, I have a 2015 white F type R rear wheel drive In the North Edmond area.
Good stuff! I picked up my OG M2 last Aug after trading my 981 CS in for it 😁 do you ever have an issue with rough takeoffs from 1st gear after the car is fully warmed up and driven hard? Mine seems to shudder and shake like i can't get it to engage smoothly 🤷
The car wasn’t very predictable on first gear takes offs. Sometimes it is smooth, other times a little more jerky. I think it’s because the m2 makes so much torque that if you rev it up a little extra tries to put all the power down
This video pushed me over the edge going with the competition vs the OG. Just signed and closed on it. Thanks for this video.
Enjoy the farts 🤣
2017 lbb manual. Zero issues @32k. Absolute blast to drive

I'm currently in the market for an f87 so I definitely appreciate this!
Great, thanks for the comment
I love the s55 but the aftermarket parts are super expensive. Almost 3 times as expensive as the N55 aftermarket parts.
Valid point!

Right on! I love the n55 to be honest
Same here, prefer the N55 over the S55 (in terms of sound)
Im buying a M2 pretty soon. This video covered the key points on buying a M2. Kuddos to you bro Im subscribing.
Amazing video! I am getting ready to search for an OG m2 and this helped me out so much thank you for all the valuable information!
Would be very fun if you could make a video about the transmission choices on these cars. Since you have had both the manual and DCT one :)
Nice informative Video. I will go for the LCI Edition and will buy me some Recardo M Performance Seats
Cool vid. I just bought a 1 owner, full service history DCT OG 2017 for $16000.
Couldn’t be happier. 👌🏻
16k?? How many miles?

Best to get a PPI from an experienced indy tech and ask to report on specific items, like charge pipe, in addition to their standard checklist.
I would like a manual Lci bmw n55 m2 in long beach blue or black
I suspect the sealed can had something to do with the vintage M1’s preservation vs plastic bottles
Considering getting a OG m2 for my first German car. Thanks for the info
I’m on the same boat ,did you end up getting it?

Very detailed video! Very nice!
My man!
The LCI wasn’t released in 2018, it was at the end of 2017 (I own a November 2017 M2 LCI😉)
Any owners out there with 100k miles on their m2? I'm curious to know about the long term durability.
What about u are just a driver who speeds in the highway or when traveling do l need racing track pades

Previous owner put a clutch stop in my E46... good decision as there is a lot of extra travel in it as well.
It is great!
Would you be weary of dinan stage 2 kit? I found an 18 with 3k miles
No I wouldn’t, these cars are strong and dinan is a safe tuner
Awesome information bro, thanks.
good video but man that's not good to have your arm resting half out the window while cornering on a track day lol (13:53)
That was a cool down lap… I hope hah

What about oil leaks on the n55? Have you had any of those issues?
I personally have not, have you heard of them getting oil leaks?
