That's the best thing the 21 century has to offer. That you can learn a such a fun playing style in a couple of minutes because of awesome youtube teachers like you. Thank you very much
I'M 62 of age, and have enjoy the clarity sound of surf gutar music, and out watch your videos. I when and bought me a American made Fender. not I have to build and an amplifire and reverb units.
Also curious if you've ever played a DiPinto Galaxie IV (Los Straitjackets model) it's somewhat like you guitar but has 4 pickups and looks like something out of "The Jetsons" :) Would be interested to hear what you thought of that vs your Jaguar.
Having a tough time tabbing this out for myself. The main riff is alternate picking triplets correct? The sequence is a little confusing. The triplet pattern would be something like: | 0-0-0 0-0-0 12-12-12 10-10-10 | | 0-0-0 0-12-12 12-12-12 10-10-10 |
Gorgeous Jag. I find the way you're holding your pick to be pretty interesting. It looks like you're really burying your index finger under the pick. It's an interesting technique and, having just tried it, I can see it gives a little extra control during a lot of tremolo picking.
Hi Bruce, nice playing. Could you please tell me what bridge is on your Jag. I'm having trouble with my mustang style (low E popping out when trem picking)
Flats or Roundwounds? I just recently put some Fender 11-50 flats on my Squire VM Jag. I'm digging 'em a lot! They came with my 50th Anniversary Jag, which has the 10-48 Fender rounds like what came on it. Great lesson, too! I love this song and had never heard it until I came across your video here!
Wow, thanks for puttin this together and demonstrating how this tune works, allways thought this was quite a strange track as it was well past the surf craze when it came to light? and allso they used 12string guitar over dubs,i love this tune, great stuff and thanks, might have ago at this soon!///
Love the tutorial, now I'm hunting the backing track like a dog. Riffstation didn't work on this on (bought the song). Any BT on this would be awesome!
I tried this song in a different manner. Same picking style but wholly different setup. Tune down a half step, add overdrive, distortion with a properly timed delay, and you'll have yourself a sick metal tune. This song is so much more fun to play. Surf gone metal with no changes to the chords nor solo passages.
Thanks so much for taking the time to teach these timeless songs. Surf music calms me and makes me happy!

Hi Bruce, nice playing. Could you please tell me what bridge is on your Jag. I'm having trouble with my mustang style (low E popping out when trem picking)
Sounds great...what reverb unit (or pedal) are you using? Or is this a computer plugin (Amplitube, etc.)?
Awesome lesson. Dug how your dog came over to see what you were up to toward the end.
