  • HOW TO CHARGE REFRIGERANT WITHOUT DIFFUSING ANYTHING IN THE ENVIRONMENT
    I had a low level of refrigerant in one of my reefers onboard. I did a leak test and could not find any source of leak so I have decided to charge refrigerant on it.
    There is a specific way on how to properly charge the system with refrigerant without polluting our environment. It is a must to follow the correct procedure in charging the refrigeration system.
    #hvac #reefer #refrigeration #refrigerationandairconditioning
    here is the video i made regarding this and I hope it will serve as your reference.

    I helped change an evaporator in a walk in fridge today with one of our fgas techs. The gas charging operation was similar to yours but we had scales. He also had a funky ratchet spanner for the valves. As a 25 year electrician this was something different. I am doing my City and Guild’s fgas next week so I can play with the AC units at work. As always good videos. Best wishes.

    sir, we all know in refer system from evaporator slightly super heated vapour returns directly to compressor crankcase, not directly to the compressor suction side. from the crankcase compressor takes suction.
    why is that so?
    is it to eliminate risk of liquid refrigerant getting directly into the suction? or any other specific reasons?
    can you pls help?

  • @josemarieantepasado5267
    @josemarieantepasado5267 4 місяці тому

    Hi sir. I just have some friendly questions and observations:
    1.) As you mentioned that the system is a closed one, the diminished system pressure should surely imply a leak somewhere in the system. Were you able to find it?
    2.) While you did purge the air out from the yellow hose but I did not see you purging out the air from the blue and red hoses. I haven't experienced working on a refrigerator yet so it really wonders me how to purge the air out from the blue hose considering it's below or equal to atmospheric pressure unlike in air-conditioning system where low side pressure is considerably above atmospheric.
    Hope you could enlighten me sir. More power to your channel.

      please take note that the container is moving from country to country, ship to ship, and port to port in which a lot of Technicians are handling them. there are some instances that they do maintenance and troubleshooting in which they might have had charge refrigerant less esp if they are in a very low ambient temperature.

      Thoroughly leak check as what you’ve said on 1:37, but you didn’t show that you check the tubings on condenser, evaporator and bulkheads leading in/out the evaporator. So how is it so sure that the system has no leak at all? And how is it that the suction/low pressure side is still zero after charging? Thanks if you can be able to answer.

    • @leckyjake
      @leckyjake  Рік тому +1

      if i will put the whole clips then the video will take for hours. This is a moving machinery which travels all around the world, from trucks to trucks, from cities to cities, vessels to vessels and from hot area to low ambient temperature area. if the container came from a low ambient area and a service was made then there is a posibility that less refrigerant was charged but would still work since condensation on the condenser is too easy due to low ambient but once this travels to tropical countries just like malaysia, then this less freon would matter and need recharging.
