@@Romantical- Welp, that's a (bigly?!?!?) yes, but not REALLY. Let me explain: first off, Microsoft & Intel haven't REALLY ratified the "standard". Win 10 will acknowledge that 160Mhz connection is present, but you basically will only be "utilizing" the 5 Ghz network (especially if you're on the 80Ghz band!!!). Conversely, Intel has released updated drivers for ax200/210 (essentially wifi 6/6e), but it appears that people with these cards won't REALLY see the jump that they are looking for...YET!!! Are wifi 6/6e networks less crowded? Yes. Will you see the killer bandwidth/speed like Asus/Netgear/Eero are touting? Not REALLY anything much more over what a 5Ghz network (right now) would provide. Bottom line: if I were to recommend a purchase for future proofing my investment - yes, by all means buy a wifi6 router (SPECIFICALLY, if you can swing it - buy a mesh network!!!) Or conversely: buy a 5Ghz mesh network (BTW, a 5Ghz mesh network will give WAAAAAY more coverage than a single wifi6 router...🤔🤔🤔) I hope I didn't ramble on too long. There is a telephony version of the XB7 (black in color); it was installed as an upgrade to our leased telephony modem. It can import settings from a gateway it replaces; that was, in fact, exactly how the technician installed it - I had no post-install cleanup (such as SSID changes, etc.) to do after he left.
Xfinity is making me have a $50 mandatory installation for this. I got everything except the coaxial and Ethernet connection cables that you had. Wondering if I could just try this after watching the video….or just let the installation tech do their job
I received all parts however I am upgrading from the old original modem and probably need to use the new coax cable. Not sure how to change those out?! Bcuz when I attempt to activate it doesn’t show a connection?

Sigh so I just upgraded mine to one of these white X7 Modems. I have one from like 4 years ago that has been losing internet connection every now and then. I swapped them out and connected the coax cable to the X7 and the power and it keeps blinking green and the app won't find it. Tried for an hour... nothing. Unplugged the X7 and hooked back up my old modem and it connected just fine back to the Internet... not sure what I did wrong or if my new X7 modem is DOA. I scheduled for a tech to come out on Thursday.
Did you disconnect the old gateway prior to installing the new unit? Was curious if I had to leave the XB6 connected to obtain information for the XB7. Thanks. Great video!
Great video. One question though: how did you upgrade? Did you call or go online? I have the xb6 and I just barely realized I need to replace it for a better modem. They’re sending one out, will it be the xb7?
@@day1tech Nope, it’s doesn’t transfer everything over. Not a big deal, just have to run around to all the devices and reconnect, took me about 45 minutes. It is crazy fast compared to my old equipment, I’m finally impressed by something that Comcast did, the world will most likely end tomorrow.

Usually it's a Free Upgrade. But worse case sceneiro it might add an extra $10 a month to your bill, in the event it's not covered by your Internet speed package.
Is it the type to just plug it in or does somebody from xfinity actually need to come over your house and if you just plug it in can u send me the link to buy iy

The speeds from this is actually amazing simply because this supports WiFi 6! Coverage is wonderful too on this.

Love the XB7, had other premium routers and it’s just a mess at times. Simple, comes with unlimited data and security no brained to get the bundle

It might be the signal. See if your ISP will install a repeater in your area.

leave the xb6 connected .. I made a mistake and disconnected it 1st
Disconnect the XB6 prior to install. Verified by Comcast. Mine installed perfectly.

I upgraded online and picked up at store
You can either order the upgrade on their website or choose a Internet speed package that throw ones in.

I need help, mine won’t set up at all after getting a brand new one too. It lights up and starts flashing like an orange light and refuses to set up

It’s the coax outlet try a few different ones in your home
They most likely have a partner with our phone companies which why we use our phones to access the app
you can use tablet or Ipad
If are phone have the WiFi on can this box get connected to are phons phone calls come in from the modem.

I don’t have a link you can walk in and they sign you up and you do not need a technician to install if you already have lines and they are active
