From all the work he did on tv and comedy in general, not only curb, it all boils down to that one appearance on Norm’s podcast, isn’t? None of the superdave or his earlier work matters or stands out to you and the others leaving that comment, no, being a guest on that podcast was the peak of his career and what you’ll remember about him, right?
He was actually quite handsome back then. And Bob was the tallest Jew I’ve ever seen. Somehow that made his character on curb funnier, with his later crazy voice.
I probably first saw Bob on the Smothers Brothers show but while I remember Officer Judy nothing connected. Then I saw him recurring on Steve Allen's show and the louder the audience laughed the straighter Bob's face got (when you thought it couldn't get any straighter). I think I still have his paperback book "This Is My First Magic Book So I'm a Little Nervous". Pat Paulsen has a page in it.
Einstein was a genius and I mean BOTH of them! When he asks Liberace, " Do you know how fast you were playing? " it's golden. His poker face served him well, especially in Super Dave skits.
This first TV appearance is where Tommy Smothers saw Dave. He called him and offered him a job as a writer on the Smothers Brothers TV show. That story is hilarious too. This is a different sort of humor that some people don't find funny; Andy Kaufman and Paul Reubens were sort of in the same boat.
I know right? How dare he be honest about what he thinks and also give some insight into what made Bob so special for people who maybe don't have as much comedy knowledge as you do. What a beastly man he is!
Seinfeld once said that he approaches comedy like science or math. He loves to disect jokes and is always fascinated with the core of comedy. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was part of that approach. I guess it depends on whether you like or dislike Seinfeld.
Sadly we have lost Bob Einstein (but i think I know where we left him) as well as Norm Foster, sorry Norm McDonalds, who at least you can share in his fine food in any urban setting, and Gilbert Gofries, and we are left only with the 'comedians' who make commentary about them. I pray to god that its enough.

As unfunny as ever. Never laughed at the obvious fake set ups, including "Super Dave"... Seinfeld talks as though his sinuses are channeling his old Yiddisher great aunt. What are they laughing at? Not comedy.
If only Tommy Smothers had thought to consult you to be his own personal humour coach... he'd never had signed this guy... and then maybe he and his brother could have been successful.
Thank you so much, Curb Your Tube, for posting clips from this wonderful movie. SuperDave Funkhauser was a singular talent, a great comedian.
And how fun to see all the pros laugh and have big smiles, also.
May he RIP!
God bless you, Bob
This guy made me laugh so much growing up in the 80s. I'm thankful for him. I wish now that more people can experience his dry humor.
That clip was excellent. He nailed his persona on his first tv appearance.
The first (and only) question we need Bob to answer is,
“Where do you get your ideas from?”
Ask Adam Eget - pretty sure he knows.

@@chuckmendez8446,
I know you're pissed 'cause the wife is making you go to church on a Sunday morning, but don't take it out on me for not going.

I’m really sad for myself that he’s gone. So loved his serious character. Very funny guy.
That was great...thanks for sharing that!

Thanks so much Curb Your Tube for ‘spreading the love’. These clips are comic gems 😍

Where's your other hand? Between 2 pillows... THOSE ARENT PILLOWS!!
miss him on Curb
Jerry Seinfeld, specialist subject: The bleeding obvious.
He was so gorgeous.

It's a shame Bob (Super Dave) wasn't a megastar in Hollywood. He had the talent for sure. Rest Easy Bob Einstein.
Who would be considered a megastar in Hollywood?

Wonderful 👏
Bob Abrogast did lots of cartoon voices for Sesame Street with Jim Thurman and Gary Owens as well as a couple other people.

Im sub'ing just based on this Bob Einstein story!
First! Miss Big Funk
Amazing comedian
How were we ever able to laugh at something without Jerry Seinfeld to explain it all to us?
Right? He’s just insufferable
The editor didn’t?
If you actually listen you will learn something.

yep, that's super dave.
Of course the one thing Kimmel says is relating it to himself
Inlove it.
Ah man rip, dude, rip
They don't call him Super Dave for nothing.
Personally, i do not like discussing comedy. I think if it feels funny, then its funny. The reaction just comes out of you.
What happened to Bob Einstein's voice later? Did he have a throat operation or something?
What I want to know about Bob Einstein: How in the hell did he develop his whining, totally unique voice that nobody else on the planet sounds like?
I used to thing Bob and Wild Man Fischer were the same guy.
Song at the end?

funny guys trying to be philosophical ... that is funny in its self and a bit boring.
This is not a very special gift. This is called a dry sense of humour. Most Americans can't do it. To most British people it's second nature.
I must be the only person on the planet that finds Bob Einstein not funny.
That's the whole point: HE'S NOT FUNNY! What is funny, however, is his deadpan delivery. Very difficult to do, I might add.
Jimmy Kimmel needs to borrow his jokes defo get a laugh for once instead of bashing trump 24/7
Awwww poor triggered Magat 😂🤣😂🤣
Jew Seinfeld explaining why something is funny
