    As a kid in the 80s we were camping near a lake. We setup to grilled chicken. Had to use some big rocks to hold up the grate of chicken. After about 20 minutes of cooking and maybe an hour of fire time. A rock exploded. I'm talking high order. Blew all the chicken apart. Rock shrapnel all over. Even bent the rack a little. We found chuncks of rock 75 feet away. Moral of thay story be careful with rocks and fire. Not all of them agree with each other. We ate hotdogs that night grilled over another rock free fire.

    I loved the "Cook on a BBQ in the drive way comment" 😄 Aboriginal cooking is almost always done within the ash so I don't understand why people get so hung up if a bit of ash gets in their food 🤷 I have had to say a few times to people, "no it's fine, it won't hurt you."

    Consuming a little charcoal with the meat is not a health hazard. In fact, charcoal can be the difference between surviving food poisoning and actually succumbing to food poisoning.

    I bought a piece of “corner scrap” from a granite counter top shore (it looks rugged without and square edges). Anyhow, I have been cooking off of it for 5 plus years now like you show in your video. They make anything a skillet can that does not swim in oil. Eggs, bacon, toast, steaks, sausage and fish along with a lot of veggies. I paid $5 bucks for the piece I bought and you can cook 3 large ribeyes at a time on it.
    Awesome video and everyone should try cooking off a stone.

    @rcg5317 21 день тому +1

    Simple and brilliant. I have done this many times. One thing I will add is to make a brush from green twigs, pine needles, etc. One of the benefits of building the fire on the rock to start is that if cleans the rock of parasites and microbes from the gut of snails and amphibians. Using damp leaves risks recontamination even though the rock is hot. Your content is awesome.
