    I legitimately look forward to Sunday every week because I know that Corporal is dropping his weekly video. I can honestly say one of the largest reasons I enjoy your content so much is because it is always something different. Ive been a pyromaniac my whole life (I’m currently 23) and absolutely love the idea of anything to do with hot tenting/ incorporated fireplace/ furnace into bushcraft shelters. Not only does it have a great practical use of keeping warm, but in my opinion it is just bad ass. So seeing this built and used is just super awesome. And pretty much no other UA-cam is doing stuff like this. Even if you were to do the same thing next week I would thoroughly enjoy all 20 minutes of your video (I still think people suck for not watching the vids all the way through in order for you to make them 30 minutes lol) But thank you for taking the time each week to come up and going through with something cool for us to watch. I have always been really interested in bushcrafting, even back when I was in middle school and beginning of high school my buddies and I would go out into his woods with just a tarp, sleeping bag and other little “necessities” and come up with something cool to camp in. Because of your videos I have gotten back into it and do it as often as I can, which unfortunately is not very often due to me living in Kalamazoo Michigan because thats where I went to college and there really is no where to do any of this and the place that I can is like three hours away. But anyway enough of my huge essay lol, Keep up the awesome work I really enjoy it and I’m sure I can speak for others when I say OUTSTANDING AF. Ill be back next Sunday! Cheers!

    That, right there, is a hobo palace! Great video. I’d like to see more video about this subject. It blends well with your other outdoor and bushcraft videos. I think a lot of “survival” ideas have come from hobos and others who may be homeless for a while. Many military veterans have had to struggle for a while and make due with what is at hand or can be found discarded by others. Great video Man!

    Next time, consider filling up each CMU with dirt/sand which will allow for a huge increase in thermal mass. This way when the fire burns down all the thermal energy is stored in that mass and will hold the temp longer.

    Personally, I like seeing people use what's around them, even if it's standard building material. In other words your video is awesome to me. Honestly, if stuff did hit the fan, I would use whatever I could around me, and just hope I could find some good stuff to build a shelter. People say "it's not Bushcraft" and I've seen just about every Bushcraft shelter there is. Built plenty of them too. I think your block shelter is awesome. I would prefer the bed to be higher, and the roof to be higher too, because I'm getting close to 60 things don't bend over as easy as they used to. I know it's easier to keep small spaces warm, but once I got down and in there, I don't know that I could make it out. 😆

      Well, then you shouldn't be breaking the laws and being violent, should you? They gave the protestors chances to leave peacefully, but instead the protesters grew violent. They made their choices of their own free will, and now they face the consequences for those choices. They should have thought of those things before decided to double down and be stupid. And yeah I know about the whole "It was protesting the vaccine mandate" thing.
      But here's the thing about that, the truckers HAD the right to continue driving semi's without getting vaccinated. The vaccine mandate ONLY applied to those crossing the border between the USA and Canada, that's all. If truckers don't want to get vaccinated, then they simply don't cross the border. No one was forcing them to, no one was jailing them for not being vaccinated, they had the right to CHOOSE whether or not to be vaccinated. And instead they chose to listen to far-right lies and be swayed by violent anti-government from the states and start turning to violence. First they screamed about vaccines and when it was clear no one was listening because the inter-province mandates had already been scheduled to stop in March, they then started screaming about tearing down the government and forcing in the "government THEY wanted". I.e. ultra-far-right dictatorships and not a properly elected government that's elected by Canadian citizenry.
      Enough was enough, the Canadian government stepped in, cracked down, and now are arresting the violent ones and forcing the rest to start following the law. They have the right to protest - not to break the law.

    I like your videos, would make a few alterations for my personal preference. if you filled the cinder blocks with dirt, it would work as an earth battery when it got warmed up and keep the shelter warmer throughout the night without having to get up and stoke the fire. Did you use a heavy duty mylar tarp for the front cover? that would help even more to keep the shelter warm. Also for a Hobo Fort, instead of a purchased sleeping mat, how about making a Plarn mat? I make them and donate them to a local charity to give to homeless people and have tried it myself and it makes for good ground insulation and is comfortable.

  • @craigboden9455
    @craigboden9455 21 день тому +25

    As good as this looks take this advice from (me) a guy whose been homeless and has done similar things to this before, be careful digging holes and making fires in them in wooded areas. ESPECIALLY in wooded areas. The fire can spread to the roots and spread underground, yes, even if its wet and frozen, it will dry while you sleep and slowly burn like the embers and can spread beneath where you're sleeping and it can set you and your shelter on fire. If you're gonna do it at least find a somewhat flat slab of rock of some kind and build the fire on to that. It'll reduce that risk considerably.

    FYI, I went to the Huntsman to get the lowdown on the Robinet issue. Checked out a few of his vids and listened to his "opinions" Left shaking my head about a man so knowledgeable and capable being such a rude, crude, socially unacceptable hater, When I was a Master Gunner in armor, my tank & I were known as SLEDGEHAMMER. So I can do asshole better than most. If assholes had royalty, Huntsman would be the king. Everyone who isn't him, is hardly worth mentioning. Ever been to Korea? Sorta like that. One word for human being (them), a lesser term for everybody else.. I'll stick with the guys I enjoy watching, not somebody who tears everyone down. I'm too old to think I have all the answers, but I truly believe I have a few.

    One year I spent the winter in Elko Nevada it was below 0 several nights. I had a 2 man tent and covered it with quilts. Heated it with a candle at night and spent the winter sleeping on top of the bedroll as it was too warm to cover up with my blankets. And it was so stealth for a camp. Because the quilts didn’t allow any light to escape from my tent.
