That, right there, is a hobo palace! Great video. I’d like to see more video about this subject. It blends well with your other outdoor and bushcraft videos. I think a lot of “survival” ideas have come from hobos and others who may be homeless for a while. Many military veterans have had to struggle for a while and make due with what is at hand or can be found discarded by others. Great video Man!
Great shelter Idea. The fireplace is really cool. You are so right that you have to get out in the woods and do these things to really see if they work. Thanks for doing that for us.
Next time, consider filling up each CMU with dirt/sand which will allow for a huge increase in thermal mass. This way when the fire burns down all the thermal energy is stored in that mass and will hold the temp longer.
With a build like that you're one step away from glamping. Looking forward to you putting all the shelters you have built over time into one Castle 🏰 in the woods. Personally, I like seeing people use what's around them, even if it's standard building material. In other words your video is awesome to me. Honestly, if stuff did hit the fan, I would use whatever I could around me, and just hope I could find some good stuff to build a shelter. People say "it's not Bushcraft" and I've seen just about every Bushcraft shelter there is. Built plenty of them too. I think your block shelter is awesome. I would prefer the bed to be higher, and the roof to be higher too, because I'm getting close to 60 things don't bend over as easy as they used to. I know it's easier to keep small spaces warm, but once I got down and in there, I don't know that I could make it out. 😆

Well, then you shouldn't be breaking the laws and being violent, should you? They gave the protestors chances to leave peacefully, but instead the protesters grew violent. They made their choices of their own free will, and now they face the consequences for those choices. They should have thought of those things before decided to double down and be stupid. And yeah I know about the whole "It was protesting the vaccine mandate" thing. But here's the thing about that, the truckers HAD the right to continue driving semi's without getting vaccinated. The vaccine mandate ONLY applied to those crossing the border between the USA and Canada, that's all. If truckers don't want to get vaccinated, then they simply don't cross the border. No one was forcing them to, no one was jailing them for not being vaccinated, they had the right to CHOOSE whether or not to be vaccinated. And instead they chose to listen to far-right lies and be swayed by violent anti-government from the states and start turning to violence. First they screamed about vaccines and when it was clear no one was listening because the inter-province mandates had already been scheduled to stop in March, they then started screaming about tearing down the government and forcing in the "government THEY wanted". I like your videos, would make a few alterations for my personal preference. if you filled the cinder blocks with dirt, it would work as an earth battery when it got warmed up and keep the shelter warmer throughout the night without having to get up and stoke the fire. Did you use a heavy duty mylar tarp for the front cover? that would help even more to keep the shelter warm. Also for a Hobo Fort, instead of a purchased sleeping mat, how about making a Plarn mat? I make them and donate them to a local charity to give to homeless people and have tried it myself and it makes for good ground insulation and is comfortable.
As good as this looks take this advice from (me) a guy whose been homeless and has done similar things to this before, be careful digging holes and making fires in them in wooded areas. ESPECIALLY in wooded areas. The fire can spread to the roots and spread underground, yes, even if its wet and frozen, it will dry while you sleep and slowly burn like the embers and can spread beneath where you're sleeping and it can set you and your shelter on fire. If you're gonna do it at least find a somewhat flat slab of rock of some kind and build the fire on to that. It'll reduce that risk considerably.
I enjoy watching your builds and like what you do in the outdoors. I don't enjoy all the drama being promoted by the huntsman's channel and really think it's doing you a disservice by repeating it. Calling UA-cam viewers stupid for watching other channels that he doesn't agree with is pathetic. Even if the other channels are fake AF it doesn't mean the people who enjoy it are stupid for watching. It's entertainment, same things are on regular TV all day. Stick to doing what you do best and stop worrying about what other people do, you will be better off for it.
FYI, I went to the Huntsman to get the lowdown on the Robinet issue. Checked out a few of his vids and listened to his "opinions" Left shaking my head about a man so knowledgeable and capable being such a rude, crude, socially unacceptable hater, When I was a Master Gunner in armor, my tank & I were known as SLEDGEHAMMER. So I can do asshole better than most. If assholes had royalty, Huntsman would be the king. Everyone who isn't him, is hardly worth mentioning. Ever been to Korea? Sorta like that. One word for human being (them), a lesser term for everybody else.. I'll stick with the guys I enjoy watching, not somebody who tears everyone down. I'm too old to think I have all the answers, but I truly believe I have a few.
One year I spent the winter in Elko Nevada it was below 0 several nights. I had a 2 man tent and covered it with quilts. Heated it with a candle at night and spent the winter sleeping on top of the bedroll as it was too warm to cover up with my blankets. And it was so stealth for a camp. Because the quilts didn’t allow any light to escape from my tent.

Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.
Maybe when you have your sorry ass confined to a Political Re-education Camp, you will sing a different song.
Here's hoping you wise up soon.
@@margueritemitchell1829 sorry
That last one was for the comment above yours
That is one of the better shelters I've seen , and somewhat stylish and that fireplace. I have seen some nice Hobo Shacks.

I love these recycled building material builds. I think of them as post-industrial debris shelters.
Looks like something my grandfather could cobble up!
He was a zen master camper.
Those two old people lived outdoors.
This is why I still watch this channel. Excellent show corporal! 👊🏻🤘🏻 Thanks for the great content.
What the hell? You get winter for one week? We're under 2' of snow easily in the woods still! I wont see dirt/ leaves till May...
It'll reduce that risk considerably.
there has never been a root fire caused by youtube videos
@@recall5811 maybe not but there has been a root fire in one of my old shelters lol
Do you realize how irrational of a response that is?
@@FoulWeatherFriend385I’m sure he was joking with that response, lol
Roots are buried beneath ground fire needs oxygen to live
Man, I love this idea! Great job Corpral! I can not wait for the BIG BUILD!!! Thanks Corpral Kelly
This shelter is awesome !! Considering that you built it from stuff you found laying around out there in the woods makes it even better !!!!
My first thought...don't fart in the fire! Chili turbo boost.
Very nice 😊. Like it a lot
Have all the haters Bring it on You have the talent Blow channel up Hit the woods show your skills multi day overnight
Every time I see you do my favorite build, you go and do something like this. And totally redeem yourself!
You might want to rethink your choices of grub, chilli, and cheese? Being that close to an open flame. You will blow that shelter to the moon.
thanks for watching
What woods are you in that has so many cinder blocks!?😮
probably stated how to get these
thats awesome but i never found all that stuff in the woods
good thing you dont make videos
@@recall5811 you never know sir. Lol
Congrats on the new property. Looking forward to seeing what you end up building!
They just keep getting better and better, all the time! Fireplace was an excellent touch. Again, keep up the great content...
Just like lebowskis rug!!! Gotta love corporal!
Very well said, thank you.
Semper Fi from a brother, Marine Cpl!
Love it! Home sweet home. Indoor out door fireplace. Doesn't get any better than that!
How many Hobos carry concrete blocks into the woods?
good thing it was never stated to carry concrete blocks into the woods
@@recall5811 Then where are they coming from? I see none in my woods...
Hobos don’t carry bricks into the woods, the bears that shit in the woods do that.
@recall5811 I understand why you only made it to Corporal in your military career. You don't take feedback or comments very well.
@@RabbitHole-xyz LOL!
Ha ha, lots of comments here b**ching about your attitude in the comments but i think that’s what drew a lot of us to your style of teaching back in the beginning! We love you for you Corp; keep up the good work!
Just curious....being that concrete cinder blocks are VERY porous...what keeps them from exploding from the steam created in the fire vs the water that's trapped in the block?....honestly wanna know since concrete is a commonly found material?
Love the way you taught us the basics and now showing us what we can do with them. Looking forward to you off-grid cabin(s). Keep up the good work.
Good Food , But Where Is The TABASCO, LOL
An abandoned homestead can have materials to build solid shelter
I MISS SHOESTRING
1 of the best, if not the best, channel on UA-cam
Thanks for doing what you do. I appreciate all of your videos. They are all informative and entertaining.
Now y'all know why he's sleeping in the hobo shelter tonight. HORMEL CHILI.
It takes a bold man to eat hormel chilli in the woods.
Wow he’s brave eating that
Nah...brave would be sitting downwind of him in an hour or so...
@@Twizter68 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
i love the simple fireplace that is just concrete blocks and the drain pipe. nice
This is what I was talking about brooooo!!! Yassss corp is so minecrafting in real life!!!!!
For the algorithm
I wouldn't need a fire to warm that shelter up if I ate what you made for dinner bro. Lol
how did you get all those blocks out in the woods
when you skip through and comment you miss
Hey Corporal‘s corner Corporal Kelly Joe here. I have a lot of videos saved on my playlist and I love watching them and trying somebody’s techniques in the field that I’m doing right now and doing stealth overnighters in the woods. I hope you have a great day today. I hope you and your family have a happy new yearyours truly your Marine Corps brother Joe.
Been chilling watching all your overnighter back to back I have started going out doing small shelter sadly live in a very small town with not much woodland areas but it has done wonders for my mental health so I appreciate all you do from the UK
SHAUN I have a question for you why don’t you ever in your tendencies ever include a whistle is a signaling device considering you can hear it almost a mile away with dogs it’s cheap it’s small and it might be something that could come in handy especially at night time it requires no battery could you please comment on my question sincerely best wishes and thank you for everything you’re showing us your inspiration to everyone thank you again SF JONES
Watching you eat that Velveeta Chili dip gave me the shits 12 hours later.
$350 for a LRB wool shirt?
Maybe when I win the lottery.
thanks for watching
Yeah 100% wool is expensive but will last year's to where you can pass down to your son
@@Mellow84 Yeah I know wool is nice, but I've gotten many 100% wool sweaters from the thrift shops for around 3 bucks. Like I said, maybe when I win the lottery I can get the nice things.
@@IMAXXHEW if your handy with a sewing machine you could get some millitary surplus wool blankets and knock one up yourself if your skilled enough some youtubers have made it look easy turning old blankets into clothing
It looks so warm!

Dude this looks like a pizza oven 🤣
So, whats up with the new age music? Does not go with bushcrafting.
Im not about the music Corp, rather just listen even just to the sounds of the build unfolding than music background. Just my 2 cents take it or leave it, as always though video was fantastic
thanks for watching
Awesome build my friend. Really enjoy your channel.
Outstanding! the hobo shelter even better. Looks cozy AF! Backwoods gourmet chili cheese nachos, hellz ya!! Look forward to seeing you build your off grid cabin. That's been a dream of mine for a long time. Atb 👍
