    Im temporarily homeless so this helps alot. One of the the best survivalist/bushcraft/camping channels on youtube. I made an a-frame tarp lastnight and have another tarp and thick foam pad as a bed, along with a 30°F sleeping bag. Right now im working a job and nobody knows im homeless. Money goes alot further like this and this camping bushcrafting is really growing on me so that i dont know if i would actually want to get my own place when i have the money. Lol. Im an unconventional homeless guy because i dont use drugs or drink or steal but i work and keep my clothes and self clean. Plus i stay clean shaven and comb my hair in such a way that nobody would suspect im living in the woods.

    When my children were babies and still in school we lived out near the lakes in Utah mountains all summer. Only left camp twice a month to wash clothes and resupply . My son's and I fished while my daughter roamed the woods nearby camp. Now it's me alone in camp. But I I'm happiest out there in nature all alone

    Even though i am now too old to do this, i have to say, having done this in my younger years, that your channel, Corporals Corner, is one of the best, why? Because you actually take the time to explain what shelter, etc, you are going to make and how you are going to make it along with all the items required to make that shelter. Then fire, very important as i love to watch the Food cooking aspect of these videos as well. Im an ex British Soldier of the '80's living in the Netherlands and really enjoying your posts. I like this one. Yes, it was in the rain and all but I learned and I saw you do something that my family thinks I'm weird for doing. I tuck under the tarp as well. If done right, any rain would hit that fold and follow it around rather than run right under the tarp and you wake up freezing. I liked the piece of wood in the tarp loop to drip water into your canteen. I do something like that when draining grease out of my pans. Nice pan, I didn't think anyone uses those anymore. I might have to make a plan to go camping with the family soon my gear has been put up for too long.

    EXCELLENT Shawn!
    Funny, I took my 10 year old grandson out last week for an overnighter and I showed him that gorilla tape could be used as tender, he was amazed!!
    I tried out making the tarp tent you demonstrated last week, it worked out well!
    If it ain't raining, you ain't training!!!
    And good luck with your new house!!

    13:55 Mind blown! I've always feared downpours while out in the field, but seeing how you leverage the rain in this video I can proudly say I'm a convert. If I can keep myself and my equipment dry, rain on my tarp can be an asset, so long as I prepare accordingly.

    Just wondering if you have ever done a survival type video with a wife and kids scenario. Many of us are married with children...how would they fit in, what would the camp look like???

    E-4 mafia for life LOL!! Hey corp. I had a friend who watches videos like this, we actually send them to each other. Loved it btw very cool. Well, he is a bit of an idiot, he got himself in a desperate situation, so he says, in Washington state. He said he was raining almost every day and it was freezing cold. I think he may be overstating the fact because he is a civilian and has no idea what cold means. But because of vids like this, surprisingly he remembered things from these vids. and implemented them and saved his life. He said he was desperate and freezing until he started to bunker down, eat, get water, started to piss out of his asshole because he had no way of boiling or purifying the water, and amazingly, found someone who left things behind in a bag, supposed to help lost dickheads like himself. People actually leave back backs and stuff in the woods for lost people, if that is true tells me there is a lot of lost people out there. He was only out there 6 days. He acted like it was years LOL! Anyway, you saved a life I guess?? LOL!

    old boy scout tip I used to do as a boy. Soap the bottom of all your cooking pots and pans. Once your done cooking with them you can flip them upside down in the rain and the rain will wash all the black suit off of the bottom of your pots clean as they were when you arrived. Great video. thanks.

      What is your dependence level and opiate used? I went through a 15 yr addiction and finally have had enough. Been opiate free last 7yrs. Was not really too hard compared to all the shit I went through feeding that monkey. It is for sure worth it.

      @@BLOWNChevySS this past week I’ve gone down from 55mg of methadone to 50mg. So there’s the methadone, also fentanyl whenever I have money but I’ve been cutting that out. At one point it was everyday now it’s just Friday Saturday Sunday. Making progress lol

    • @BLOWNChevySS
      @BLOWNChevySS 2 роки тому

      @@bradd188 Dude, that fenty is a no win. The methadone is workable as at least it is not completely illegal. The way I did it was to cut down slowly, every two weeks drop off 5 mg of methadone until you ate taking 10 mg x 2 daily. Carried that dose for a month and went every other day. Always had a few stashed for the jimmy legs but was not to painful. When you feel confident in your sobriety go to Miami for a good game of Eight Ball.

    A really useful tip for a campfire in the rain is you could build another one of those spitroast supports, with the two Y -sticks and the cross member stick, about 2 or 3 feet from the first one. Then, lay a bunch of wet sticks or branches across the two. This will not only cover the fire and protect it from the rain but the fire will also dry out the wood pretty quickly and allow it to be used in the fire. So, as this wood dries out, throw it in the fire and replace it with more wet sticks/branches. I've done this countless times and it's always worked wonders for me. Like any fire, take necessary precautions and supervise it, and make sure not to have it too close to the fire or you'll have an unexpected bonfire.
