- Welcome to Wonderhussy Adventure #381
Date of adventure: 12/10/19-12/12/19
My girlfriend Jessica and I enjoy finding old mining cabins that have been fixed up by volunteers, and are available to stay in overnight on a first-come, first-served basis. On this trip we visited two of the nicest such cabins, located waaaay up an EXTREMELY rugged canyon in the mountains outside Death Valley. Unfortunately, Jessica got violently ill from drinking the spring water in one of the cabins...and now I had to figure out what to do to help her get to a hospital!!

Yes ,god bless those volunteers who maintain and stick those cabins, good people 🙏🏼
Wild sense of humor.
Great on camera personality, down to earth and funny.
Binge watching you, Wonderhussy!
Glad Jessica was ok 😁
Amen 😢
There is a UA-camr that lives up in the Mountains above Death Valley. In a Ghost town Named Gordo. He and a Friend of his bought the town. He's been fixing it up. It a old western Mining Town. Its pretty neat Ghost Town. He has people volunteer to go up there and spend some time with him doing repairs, landscaping, building what ever skills they're willing to lend. To help restore this Ghost town to its natural state. He has small cabins he's been repairing with some gorgeous views of Death Valley and some snow cover mountains around him and where he is at.
Wow, what a trip. I love Jessica's collaborations with you and really hope the double ended empty out hasnt scared her off. Cheers ladies and thanks for the ball scratching entertainment..
Mark Grant not scared off at all. Just a temporary set back :)
@@hiddenplaces5311 Theres a certain resturant in Maffra Australia I wont return too after 2 days of poopin, vomiting and shivering, but thats just me being a bit angry at the sportsmans club. Cheers..
Mark Grant that’s totally understandable. I’m sorry that happened to you. I love the desert too much to stay gone for too long.
Wow! What a day, glad ur friend was ok. Maybe she got some kind of Giardia? The dehydration from the vomiting/diarrhea is most dangerous...I've ended up in hospital on an IV because of that too, I guess u can flush out so many electrolytes & water that ur organs can shut down. U guys did the right thing.
jackillin it was Giardia. Scary stuff. That’s exactly what was happening. Thank you for the kind thoughts
@@hiddenplaces5311 Glad you are okay, look forward to seeing you with Sarah Jane again!
@@hiddenplaces5311 - Glad you are much better!
100% the water made her sick. There’s similar cabins near me where they have running water and I know someone who drank the water and got violently ill. Didn’t go to the hospital but sick on both ends. That water was surly untreated and there’s potential animal waste or dead creatures in the source. Always essential to bring water and only use that. Giardia is usually from feces in water sources so that is most likely the problem.
So glad to hear Jessica is OK. For a while I expected you to be announcing her death. A friend like that would be so hard to lose. That's why people keep saying to love those you're with while they're still with you. If you need anymore friends, you can always turn to me.
Both cabins are equiped for propane gas. Bring your own bottle of propane and turn everything on including the Water Heater for showers. The benches and tables in the patios of both cabins were built with target shooting in mind. All set up for guns and gun loading, maintanence and cleaning. They are both highly popular and are seldom free. The "main" cabin is also set up for ham radio communications. You can plug your own radio into the antenna which is on that mast outside by the flag pole. You can then communicate with the outside world. NEVER LEAVE FOOD OF ANY KIND in these cabins. It just goes bad because no one ever uses it and then we must clean it all out every once in a while.
I love how you respect everything that you come across you are so thoughtful
Hi Sarah, I think you ladies should go back to the same cabins when you are ready to try it again. That place was bomb, so well cared for, just do not drink or cook with the water from the cabin. I am so happy that Jessica is feeling better now. you did what a good friend should do, great job getting her the help she definitely needed. Merry Christmas Sarah.
Does Jessica have a UA-cam channel?
Hy sarah
As a penance she needs to bring 6-8 gallons of fresh water jugs and leave at least 4 behind with a note for other "city slickers"....DON'T DRINK the H2O👍
Wow! Poor Jessica. More of an adventure than both of you wanted! Good thing she's feeling better. Thanks for a well done video. Jessica is lucky to have such a good friend like you, Sarah.
The day after thanksgiving, I came down with a violent stomach virus that is going around. I spend a lot of my 4 days sitting on the porcelain chair with a plastic bucket in front of me. The virus hit hard and was violent for 4 days. I kept drinking water to help flush out the monster that was inside me ( also because the dry heaves made me feel like a wet wash cloth being wrung out.). Day 5 I got better and I had lost 7 Lbs. During those 4 days I did not to eat anything. I hope that Jessica did not get that nasty virus. She seems like too much of a sweetheart to deserve such an ugly virus like that . God Bless and Good Health to you two gals. :)
Poor Jessica. Reminds me to always, always drink potable water only. It isn't that difficult to filter and boil water for drinking. Especially if it avoids this type of sickness.
The sign in the first, cabin she shows from 8:57 thru 9:04 says, "The water has been tested several times over the years. It is safe to drink and cook with." It might not have been the water that made Jessica sick. It's more than likely a virus that got her before she left home.
OMG I was on the floor laughing myself silly at those pants!!! Almost peed myself!!! 😂😂🤣🤣 great place to just “hang out”!!!! Another excellent adventure!!! ❤️❤️❤️
The little fountain early on is powered by a solar powered pump. I see those in people's yards around here. The pit at about 15:30 may have been to drive a vehicle over to work
underneath...like to grease steering linkages and such. beats trying to use a creeper on rough gravel.
Oh...thanks for all the updates on Facebook. I'm sure glad Jessica's getting over that mess. I certainly isn't fun having a corroded gizzard. One reason to not do much exploring
alone.
Your poor friend that's the old Double Dragon when it comes out of both ends you did the right thing you got her out
That same thing happened to my friend coming back from Soldier Meadows. Jessica is one tuff chick! I am so happy that she is going to be OK!
I’ve been watching your videos for about a year. I love the way you keep it simple, yet very informative. I appreciate the research you do for the areas you visit and how you work in the history! Your contagious personality just naturally comes through in all your videos! Keep up the good work!
Wonderhussy is a loyal friend ... ❤️
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Sorry your friend got sick. It is December 25 when I am watching this. Hope she is still ok.
Oh my gosh Sarah, I can’t imagine what you were going through during this crisis, trying to think and do the right thing for your friend in this emergency. You did all the right things and she is blessed having you for her friend. I hope she is feeling much better now. Thank you for sharing this very frightening experience. Hope you have been able to rest and recover from this trauma, and your friend too. Take care.
Oh man, getting that sick is definitely not what you want, let alone in the middle of nowhere. I hope Jessica recovered quickly!
These cabins both look super awesome! Right at the beginning that antenna next to the flag pole caught my eye and I thought no way, they're operating a ham repeater up there! I know that people do run repeaters also in super remote areas like in northern Canada and was waiting the whole time for you to run into a locked cabinet somewhere inside the cabin that would hold the radio equipment but was somewhat disappointed that you didn't notice anything the like. Then I started browsing the comments and further down found one from mobiltec - who seems to be one of these cabins' volunteers - who points out that this is indeed a ham antenna but there's just an open-ended cable inside the cabin where you can plug in your own radio. Well done!
Sorry to hear about your friend Jessica.
I spent a few months not far from that hospital (at China Lake N.S., was detached from the Canadian Air Force) many years ago. (BTW, they were at the epicenter of an earthquake a few months ago).
Keep your great work, WonderHussy.
"shut the front door!" ... New one on me. Brilliant. All the best to you, Jessica, and all your adventurous pals. Happy new year.
JESSICA, WHAT A TROOPER! ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING JESSICA MORE OFTEN I HOPE ;)
To quote something you would say ,"holy canoley" how frightening being way out there and finding her that sick. I'm so glad she was able to drive out, poor Jessica and how scary for you !
Another fun video from Sarah(and Jessica) poor thing..glad she's feeling better but tummy issues suck. Those cabins are great, but those pants, holy sh*t, hilarious.😂😂😂..look forward to more exploring with the Wonderhussy babe👍Merry Christmas❤🌲💚✌❤😊
Funny. Clever. Beautiful. Raunchy. You gals are four of my favorite things, and so much more. Thank you for posting.
hope u felt better fast Jessica.
What an awesome place...Thank you for all that you do! We really enjoy every adventure you take us on!
I’m so sorry Jessica got sick. I’m glad u two made it out safe.
Hope Jessica is doing better and sorry about your trip. Those cabins looked amazing and I hope you can get out there again.
I was eating a chocolate chip cookie with coffee when you two showed the pants. I about choked laughing.
Love your videos! You two are great together comedy for days! Love how you take me exploring with you and I never left my living room 👏👏👏👏👏💕 you have opened my mind and I am wanting to try this now!
Shake more than 3 times is playing with yourself 🤣🤣🤣 comedy gold right there!!!!
You're so nice to be with, you love life and everything in it is fascinating, thanks for taking me along. Best wishes from Alan, in England.
Glad to hear Jess was ok, hope to see her in more adventures
Sarah, your caring and concern for your friend in her moments of distress...nice! Hope she survived it...sucks to have an outing turn out like that!
The yowser trousers rocked!!! Thanks for the laughs!
Happy holidays, my dear! Lynn
Glad you both made it out ok. Looks amazing! I love your adventures and your super positive bubbly spirit. Keep traveling girl!
Nice hanging with you bros. Glad it turned out okay. Seems like a nice place to get away. Thanks for sharing.

Merry Christmas....glad Jessica is ok...great cabins and grounds...love your videos...would love to see y’all back at those cabins again...keep them on the list for sure! Safe travels WH!
Love ya Sarah! Explore the world, and I will follow! Love ya girl! Keep it it up!
Jessica had a serious case of something or other. Glad you ladies are alright. Beautiful volunteer cabin. I wanna go!
Wow what a turn of events! One minute I’m laughing at the Bro pants the next genuinely concerned. Good that she had you there. I always think of injuries. Looks like I need to add Imodium to my kit.
As always love your videos and Merry Christmas 💕🌴
Great Vlog, and you two seemed to be having such a great trip.. Sorry Jessica became so ill..
That cover on the second cabin that's on the stove not just a cutting board but you can lift it up and the burners are underneath
OMG! I love you two! You are so funny and uninhibited.
Poor Jessica get well soon!
Glad to hear Jessica is doing much better. That was a beautiful area!
You both were having a great time in such a special place-sorry Jessica. Good thing you ladies have balls 😳 & happy Jessica is ok. Just found your channel today. Thanks for taking us along. Hope 2020 brings you great joy
Glad J. is better. KUDOS to you Sarah! A real friend takes care of things, in good times and bad. You handled things impressively. Cabins were just outstanding. Thanks. Merry Christmas!
There is absolutely nothing worse then being sick. I had that happen years ago in the Bahamas. They were having trouble with their water filtration system and I got sick. Like Jessica it was coming out both ends as fast as it could. I tried waiting it out, but after half a day I have in and went to the hospital. The doctor fixed me right up and told me that what I had thrived off of food and not to eat for four days. All I could have was clear liquids and absolutely nothing carbonated. I was miserable and I lost 26 pounds, of which I had to spare lol!!! I never want to suffer through that again and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Looks like a blast until Jessica got sick. Great cabins! I could move right in to the first one!
absolutely amazing cabins, thumbs up for the guys who maintain them 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼👍👍👍
I love the sound of your voice I listen to you ever night to help me go to sleep, I love everything you do.
Gosh, I was laughing so much at your antics up at the cabins, especially with the "bro pants" ! But then when Jessica got so sick, it was a harsh reminder to me to be as prepared as possible when traveling in the wilderness (well-stocked first aid kit for one), and always have an emergency plan. I have been there....violently ill during a camping trip with same symptoms.....so scary. Thankfully, you stayed healthy and could help her. First rule of thumb is to be there for each other ... you are a good and true friend....that's more valuable than your extra days of traveling.
These cabins are high on my list! Awesome video! Glad everyone made it out alright.
A "King Missle" reference...nice. We have the Bro- Dude thing here in Arkansas over deer camps in the National Forest. Oh, Lort don't take someone's spot that they have been using for 15 years...even though there's 300,000 acres available
The sign in the first, larger cabin you show from 8:57 thru 9:04 says, "The water has been tested several times over the years. It is safe to drink and cook with." It might not have been the water that made her sick. It's more than likely a virus that got her. But, since she DID get sick, I'll not take the chance if I ever get to go there. I'll bring my own drinking and cooking water. After all, the sign also says there is a storage tank of 350 gallons so some types of bacterial or fungal growth in the tank MAY have been the cause of her illness. Jessica's a tough one for driving out of there while that ill! BTW, if you ever get something like that, make sure that you drink water after you upchuck. Even if your up-chucking is only 15 minutes apart some of that liquid passes into your body, and helps to keep you hydrated. I have avoided several hospital trips to be re-hydrated via IV by doing that. Oh, I forgot, sometimes I add a very little bit of salt, potassium and sugar to the water if it lasts for more than 24 hours. Have to put some of the electrolytes back. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I just stayed and drank the water and it was very good!
Robert Gardea it’s not stream water dingus
Suck on ice cubes if you can't keep the water down.
Hi so sorry you had a bad time . You did the right thing and I am glad Jessica is on the mend . I hope that when you both back up scratch again that you will try again with more success. Have a great new year
It surprises me that you don’t have over 200 subs yet. I think your vids are wonderful. Especially since travel is limited for quite a few folks. Your content is interesting, informative, creative, entertaining, and well edited. I did suggest in other views, perhaps a drone and metal detector may add to your flavor. Just a thought. Please keep doing what you do. Many people do appreciate your efforts and adventures.
Wow I love it! Not only the cabins are kool & the view is spectacular but love the commentary! Men do it why can’t we?! 😂 I’ve been to some of the places you have. I grew up in Reno NV, now in OK I miss these places. Thank you for sharing.
Omg the bro pants. That was hilarious. And the shenis. Lmao. Too bad about Jessica. Hope she gets better. I would avoid that water out there.
Chix with Dix. How awesome. Great lesson there about always having a buddy. It could happen to anyone.
You did a wonderful with this adventure and I was really enjoying those cabins! So sorry your friend Jessica got sick. Thanks to Rock Novak and Co. from Ballarat for helping out! Loved the tights too ;)
Merry Christmas, sorry your friend got sick you gals are so funny with them pants. Those cabins are awesome thanks for taking us along for the ride.
You managed to make a 34 minute video fly by. Amazing cabins, LOL moments and a bit of drama, we’ll done!
Beautiful cabins....great job girls...sorry Jessica got sick.
Merry Christmas to you guys!
Enjoy a Happy Christmas. Glad Jessica recovered. Regrettable she got ill during a fun adventure.
BTW, some folks just don't get tongue 'n' cheek humor, so they're offended by it.
Pro Blu this makes me SOOOOOO Angry 😤
You and your videos are awesome! Thanks for doing what you do.
Great cabins, I wish all cabins could be as nice as these and not smashed to oblivion like they normally are. Wouldn't it be great if someone just happened to drive by when you were out front bro-ing out in your bro pants!! Poor Jessica, not good to get sick up a mountain, did I mention she is great, well you both are!
Merry Christmas Sarah! Thanks for posting. Hoping the best for Jessica's recovery...…………..
Sounds like either Norwalk Virus or Salmonella. I had it twice, thought I was going to die, but doctors thought it was no big deal. Great video and very funny.
I've had the same thing happen to me after drinking bad water....it was ecoli....but it started 3 days after drinking it and I was out for 5 days violently ill.....was the worst sickness I have ever experienced
My daughter went to school at Death Valley High school! graduated in a class of 6 students. She was one of several students that lived in Pahrump, NV and rode to and from school each day. Parents and teachers took turns through the years being bus/van drivers. Very cool school!
Merry Christmas to both of you. I hope Jessica is recovered. May the new year bring you love luck an happiness.
Awesome trip hope Jessica is fine have to be careful many blessings in the new year.
Great location to end 2019 on! enjoy seeing you and Jessica. Hopefully she is fully recovered by time of this writing.
Merry Christmas from North Texas / Land of Freeways.
Another one down, great video of the cabins and your adventures. Sorry to hear about Jessica, not good. Hopefully you guys can get back up there again. Stay safe
Wow glad everything is well. Great cabins , before watching your adventures I never knew about this kind of thing. Such a great idea. I hope everyone is as good about following the rules. This is so important to the life of the wonderful gift of the "Adopt a cabin". I am sooo glad you guys made it to a Dr. Love & Light from Washington state.
You shall return. It was nice of you to take such good care of your friend,
Be prepared .... expect the unexpected ... never trust the water. Well done WH, hope Jessica feels better now.
Merry Christmas ... hope you're having a wonderful day.
The caring that you show to the places you visit as well as your friends is just I don't know the word for it. If a person had five friends like you they would be very very very lucky. Merry Christmas love you and happy New Year hope we'll get together when I get out there to Vegas but if we don't owe well I love you anyway
I would think The word your looking for could respectful!
@@motorcyclemikel711 respectful doesn't quite cover it
@@motorcyclemikel711 the places and people she visits are better for her being there, respectful doesn't really cover it cuz she made fun of us who don't punctuate so good LOL
You 2 crack me up!! Well done vlog! Hope Jessica is good. Thank you WH!
Merry Christmas Sara ! ❤️😘 Well wishes for Jessica.🙏❤️
Holly canoly! What a day, the good thing is both of you girls didn't get sick... hoping that Jessica is feeling better quickly and on to the adventure.... missed you by a few days at Tecopa hot springs. Anyway always looking forward to seeing your Adventures ,
Thanks again for sharing life with enthusiasm and passion for sharing
Very well maintained cabins. Somebody is doing an awesome job!!! CONGRATULATIONS! To those hard workers
I was hoping you would show the bridge just up from there. The road is a lot rougher and I’ve only gone down it. Your friend is a trooper
Sorry to hear about Jessica. Glad she's going to be okay. Love the boy pants!
Haha! Cracked me up on this Chrsitmas Day! Merry Christmas, Sarah Jane! Hope Jessica is feeling better.
OMG Girl glad everyone is safe and well, the first part of this video was funny as hell!!
Best to both of you. Quite the adventure.
Awesome video, cabins look amazing. Would love to visit!
WH get some colloidal silver to bring on your trips. I take it with me to Mexico and Thailand and I've never had a problem! Good to hear Jessica is OK. Good job getting her to the hospital. Stomach viruses are nasty!!!!
That stuff is a scam.
Okay, you made me laugh out loud with those pants. Great 'naughty' humor. Glad to know Jessica is okay. A horrible thing to happen while remote camping, but she, and you, are troopers. And you are a loyal and true friend. I had a similar bad time in the 1990's with sudden diverticulitis that began at night.
one of your best efforts, Merry Christmas!
If you go back ...and the weather is better, it would be nice to see you use the outdoor bbq and firepit...👍 and more scenery pictures..
