I love how even a 3 mile cross country uphill hike doesn't deter you.
The can with the rocks in it....... I'm a Vietnam Veteran, and one of the ways we would heat up C Rations was to put sand (or gravel) in a small can, such as that one, put in some JP4, which was basically refined kerosene, and cook over it..... the can with rocks is a make shift stove.....
Thank you Wonderhussy Adventures. Keep up the good work!
I am always amazed at how you can make something so ordinary as an abandoned shack into such an exciting adventure. Such enthusiasm! Thanks WH!
That Pontiac Bonneville reminds me of a time when we anticipated with excitement the new styles that appeared every year in September from the automobile industry. This was the era when cars didn't look like inverted bath tubs on roller skates. Thanks for the memory.
'59 Bonneville was a dazzling feast for the eyes....used to spend hours sitting behind front wheel of uncle's black 4 door and play with power windows which worked with ignition off. When opened doors at night with lights....looked like a Hollywood set...chrome everywhere
@@63connie78 Don't shoot the Pontiac.
Nice parts!
@@63connie78 Better yet. How did it get there? No engine or front end. The frame is cut off. Fire wall and everything is missing
GM introduced the concept of the Yearly Design Change back in the Late 1920s.
What a sweet person you are. Such a touching way to finish your hike and this video. Thank you for taking us along on this fascinating hike.
You make it all look so easy!! Can’t wait for the adventure to continue! Thank you so much for taking me along😎💖💖
Holy Canoly!!!! That magazine is as old as I am! 1956!
As always, you have the knack at providing interesting and informative narration. Your sense of humor and enthusiasm is always quite entertaining. Thank you for sharing.
We are thankful for you Sarah Jane. For me, your best videos are when you go to these cool random places ( w/ cabins or abandoned houses ) in the desert ,and mountains. I was raised in S.California ( Paramount, Downey area 1966-1985 ) and i really miss hiking and camping in that beautiful country. My best friends had a cabin in the Mojave desert ,and we spent alot of time there hiking, mountain biking, goofin' off , and gettin' really stoned , it was awesome. Your trips through that land brings wonderful memories back. That was long trek to that cabin, but i would've done it too , Heck' , the Uncle Sam's laxative cereal alone made it all worth it , and i really enjoy when you find and read old newspapers , it's hilarious . Thanx again , you rock chick ! Bob.G.
Wonder Hussy, you seem like such a genuinely nice person. I really enjoy your vids. Take care and be safe.
Another fine video. I'm glad that you felt "thankful" for the day. Amidst such natural beauty, it'd be a shame not to. Thanks.
Our intrepid hiker-explorer Wunderhussy - has done it again. She is amazing. Bravo Sarah.
i would like to get her here in Australia i do outback adventures
@@robertproietti-ricci6403 I bet she'd love it!
So that's where I left my portable picnic table! Love your adventures Sarah.
After viewing this video, I realized that I left a comment on this video 3yrs ago. No worries, I love watching Wonderhussy's videos so much! Thank you Sarah for all the hard work & time that you put into each of your videos.
Great video! Loved it all, especially the books and old magazines and upholstery.
and I thank God too, for the beauty in the creation and the ability to see and appreciate it ...and I thank God for you 💓🤍💙
You seem like a great person to be around. Your friends must love going on adventures with you. Keep it up, I love your content!
That was fun. But stay away from the talc mines, they have naturally occurring asbestos. Otherwise looks like a good place to be in the winter. Thanks!
Wonderhussy: All your videos are wonderful, but there's something special about this one.
Keep 'em coming!
Wonderhussy, you’re the best. Thank you for taking me along on this adventure. Further, I’ll never look at a Larrea tridentata the same way again. Please stay awesome.
Thank you for taking us along on another great adventure 😎
just now saw your deep creek misadventure. I've been there twice - originally I ran in on the PCT. Later in the year, my friends and I took the same PCT route (11miles round trip). We all enjoyed it - agree with you it is one of the best hot springs in California.
I always love it when you show us the cars.Thankyou !
Another great one, nice old cabin, just laughed at your take on the 1956 mag. Being born in 1956, I drive a 1955 Chevy, I also have a 1963 Imperial. I don't quit get to excited about that old stuff😅😅😂😂😋. Love your vids, take care Sarah. Old Kenny.
I love your abandoned cabin videos. I always discover new interesting stuff to google and learn more about. I don't own a working TV so I spend about 12 hours everyday on my phone googling things.
Cool. Did a bit of google digging, and the NPS has a nice writeup of the history of the area, apparently the talc mine was still active on and off into the mid sixties. The buildings in the area date at the earliest to the 40's due to the miners just razing the older buildings from previous miners, and the NPS considers the remaining structures to be of no historical signifcance due the (lack of) age.
On another note, since you mentioned boxcar, came across an interesting NPS paper on the boxcar project, and how terribly it was managed due to different departments having their finger in the pot.
Short version for those still reading; the box car preservation project was unsupervised, and run by a department with no concern for historical preservation, upon getting looked into the cabin program was stopped due to randomn individuals doing whatever they wanted to "preserve" the cabins with no regard to retaining the original looks and materials and the program was stopped in order to preserve the historical aspects of remaining cabins.
The mug looks similar to one I got my dad back in the late 1980s.
Keep it up , I love you wonder Hussy !
I really have to admire you leaving things just as you found them!
Touching things is not the same as disrespecting things.
Leaving them as you found them actually means LEAVING THEM AS YOU FOUND THEM.
PoM MoM so when is the owner coming home
I guess she just did and was happy to see all the other owners left their names and the date they visited
PoM MoM I know who the owner is and if you watched the video before you commented you would know too
Robert Leckie wrote "Helmet for my pillow" about his experience as a Marine from Guadal Canal to Peleliu and was used with E.B Sledge's book "With the old breed" for the HBO series "The Pacific".
That looks like a cooper water dipper that was copper soldered. It is the type found tied to water barrels of wagons. They were common up into the 1950's Then the trend went to cone shaped paper cups and igloos. The soldered style dippers go back to the 1800's. latter they went to mass production rivets mostly. The tell is the angled sides, That is really a super cool find !
Since you brought up flashlights, Look into Olights, all their flash lights are rechargeable via a USB connection, so you should be able to charge them up from you car, hotel room, computer or a small solar panel. And they throw a lot of light depending on the model.
Wow that car was beautiful in its day! I love that blue atomic star on the seat!
Awesome 👏. As you can tell I’m just now catching up to your videos.
Another great adventure I wish I could go on. Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you for a great adventure video! I’d love seeing a video of Baker, CA. Looking forward to your next adventure! Stay safe and awesome, young lady! 🧧🤙🌺
Love your videos young lady, you are very offbeat and entertaining and you visit some great places. Nice to see you wearing hiking boots as well...😄
That cup was historical should be preserved for local museum my dad was a biologist he appreciated nature like you like the creosote.☮️🌵
Actually there's a rough rd (Buckwheat Wash Rd) that you can take from Ibex Spring area. It will get fairly close to that cabin. So those car tire tracks you observed where most likely legal. Its a rough and hard to follow Rd, but its open as far as Death Valley park is concerned
Congrats on 200,000 subscribers!!! You have a unique and informative channel.
I love the smell of a creosote bush after a rain. It's hard to describe but it's a good smell.
"Darn you Starbuck!" Lol! That's a neat little place. It has seen better days.

Oh yeah, keep your glasses they look wonderful on you. God is wonderful as well.
Who else gets excited to see a notification for her newest video🙋♂️🙋🏽
Having recently completed a marathon binge-watch of ALL of the videos available on her channel, I have to admit two things: 1) Her camera work, production values, videography, and narration have all taken a quantum leap forward; and, 2) I like it when the notification list includes her newest offering. So, yeah. :)
@Stan Williams Shes pretty hot!!
I want to see her do a story on Jerome Arizona one of the craziest places I've ever been

Damn, you are starting to soften in your old age Hussy. I am proud of you. You actually have a lot of grit and that is a very rare quality these days. Keep doing what you do.
I coulda spent a hour looking at those old magazines and books ! Imagine the people that came back in those years that brought magazines to leave ! Maybe you should put some magazines and old newspapers in your backpack to leave along with your first aid kits and flags .. really marks the time. 😊

Your usual wonderously good video :)
Great job! Stay safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Pontiac does not seem to have a B pillar so it would be a 1959 Bonneville and it is a 2 door since the "thingy" window handle is there and not part of the back door. Catalina and Star Chief have B pillars and I think the 4 chrome pieces on the side were Bonneville also. Tell me if I am wrong I can only remember so many things on old cars from before I was born. My 1964 Star Chief is what sold me on Pontiac for the rest of my life until congress and the worst president destroyed that.
Them durned Ding-a-ling Yahoo's!
Love your videos. Your comments make me smile. Nice.
