Been on many videos and none of them explain it properly, you explained it very good and now after trying for nearly 2 months I've finally got it done. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much! Your instructions were pretty clear, easy to follow and I made it all work in under 5 minutes, which saved me from the struggle of setting the station every morning on my way to work and back. Nice job!
In Short - In 98% Of Cases Red Is Constant 12v (This Is Required To Keep The Memory Inside The Radio Alive) Yellow Is Ignition Switching - Tells The Head Unit When To Power On & Off Automatically (When ignition Is Live It Will Send 12V+) Most Head Units Come With Bullet Connectors On Both Yellow & Red So You Can Simply Swap These Over Without Removing & Changing The Pins From The Connector
I wish you all the best man! Thank you very much for this tip. The memory issue was really annoying. Just fixed the issue with my Sony xav ax 1000 in my Toyota Aygo thanks to this video!
Thankyou so much. You explained it beautifully and demonstration was great Quite often people chat too much but your post was spot on . We were, (Well my husband) was able to fix problem straight away. Thank you
Thank You! I just installed a JVC with aux since my new car didn't have one and I ran into this problem. Came across your video and it solved the issue. Thank you again for sharing! :D
Thanks this worked on my Peugot 206, I had the Sony MEX - N4100BT for a year and had always thought that there had been a problem with with stereo until I did some research and found on a forum I found that it could be the firmware being out of date; I updated the firmware but that didn't work but what did work was inverting the yellow and red connection. Now the stereo settings doesn't reset and works perfectly :).
Tnks. That was helpful. Just bought new Pioneer MVH-180UBG. Replaced 11yrs old Sony and when pulled out ignition key all stored stations were gone. Replaced yellow and red wire - problem solved.
Bloody hell thanks so very much i have been trying to find out this problem for over a week untill now i found your video,,its a new pioneer deh-x7800 dab.everytime i change it to english and change color like you say turn off key and then back on,all is lost,i was cracking up so again thanks so much, iam from belfast myself but live 30 years in holland.go safe and take care
Another tw*t was going through my mind... But you sir are not!! 5 years I've had my truck with this problem sorted it by putting a live wire to the memory wire but the relay was clicking on and staying on so I disconnected it and never went back just put up with it, this guy comes along... Went out to my truck with me multimeter found he was right! 5 mins job done!!! It's going to be a different truck now 🤣 hats off to you sir!!!!
@@w202firstaid I'm glad I've made your day! As you have done to me! All the best with your recovery brother👌 stay strong stay safe you'll come back as good as ever 💪 best wishes😘
hello. could you do a video focused on rearranging the pins? you show how you do it with a long sharp tool. but i cannot get any of mine out... it is so frustrating and youre video is the only one to even get close to solving my problem. Great video besides that :)
Had same issue and was just about to mail the headunit - a Kenwood - back to Ebay and say it was shi*te when I came across your video. So a big thanks from me to you.
You can make a good lock pin release tool, by grinding down a hacksaw blade, as they are made of good quality high carbon steel. Grind to narrow enough to fit in slot in socket.
It's crazy having an ISO standard connection which isn't standard ie yellow and red wires transposed...Thanks because I took it for granted my iso connection was standard!!
your explanation is very good, for everyone (i think). I mean...you don't use "electrician" language. anyway...I was wondering, yesterday I bought a player and a universal adaptor so i didn't had to cut the wires. and a guy installed it for me but told me that he had to change the position of the yellow cable because + wasn't going to + and - wasn't going to - if he left them how they were. My question is...if i do what you did, won't it fry my player? (Sorry for my english mistakes)
Help! My problem with saved radio settings is intermittent. Most of the time the radio operates normally but sometimes when I turn the ignition on, the settings are back to demo and flashing 12:00. The old radio was intermittent too so I suspect something in the wiring. Any suggestions where to start?
Thank you for information. I recently Bought a Pioneer radio but it wont save the settings everytime i turn off the Car and restart it after breaking and making contact with the keys... Tomorrow if i would have Some spare time, im gonna try to fix it Thanks again!!
w202firstaid it worked!!! The great thing about the ISO-connector provided with the Pioneer-received is that the four cables can Be switched with a build-in plug... so i dont have to force the pin out of iso-connector. I simply switched the yellow and red one and voilA!!! Thanx again for your help! Sorry for bad english
that's great I am glad it worked for you it took me a quite a long time to figure this out I checked UA-cam and there was no videos this is the reason why I put this video of myself I am Happy it help you with your problem
My Radio saves station settings and the last position on MP3s and CDs, no problem there. The problem that had recently occured is that the bluetooth pairings can't be saved, I can pair my phone at the start of every journey but when I turn off it is gone again. Any ideas?
Was your stereo turning on before you did this or not, my stock radio works but when I plug in my pioneer stereo (which worked in my old car) it doesn’t even turn on
so i have this unusual problem where my touch screen dvd player in my car does not save which track (usb songs) i was at before. i have no problems with saving my radio stations, settings, etc. only song tracks from usb, cd, and sd card. it only happens sometimes. so sometimes it'd reset back to track 1 after switching my engine on. ive went back to the shop and exchanged to another one but it has the same issue. help please?
Im having a problem with my head unit pioneer avh-x8650bt, the usb doesnt resume the song which im playing whenever car is restarted and it starts from one song always and I change the color scheme wallpaper etc but whenever car is started again everything is reset . I tried to update firmware and when update was finished I checked firmware no it was same old firmware meaning update didnt get installed. I have tried to reset the head unit via settings, through the small hole and also by removing car battery .. Any help please
I have pioneer avh8650bt, It used to work fine but now it doesnt remember preset settings or color themes also doesnt turn on back camera when I put car in reverse, I have to manually turn on camera all the time from settings now. It remembers radio stations and time but doesnt remember any other settings... Please Help! What should I do to fix it ?
Hi can you help - I actually cannot manage to remove the harness from the connector. I have tried pulling up and pushing down the clip on the side but the actual connector doesn't budge

@Manny Ribera they don't... you need to use a tool to get them loose.
At least the one I had in the past did not.
Very helpful. All other videos in UA-cam to sort the same problem issues are shit. They just talk & talk, don't show anything.
You are great ....
