My Gosh! I was excited to install this unit untill I started scratching my head! The radio worked bit not the stereo. Literally almost 12am and my wife just left me alone to dig for answers on the internet 😂 You are a life saver!! Just on time before our trip
Thank you sir! With your video and a Positap I had this fixed in about 90 seconds! As one other commenter noted, there appears to be an amp wire (blue&white) on most of the RCA plug harnesses. From what I can tell, this is actually switched by the UI, but it’s probably easier/faster for most of us to just tap the ACC line so the amp gets power at the same time as the HU. Thanks again!!!
I literally pulled some hair out this morning, but your vid helped me A LOT. I have spliced the amp turn-on signal with the acc. Now the amp stays on and UA-cam/Bluetooth works :D Many thanks 👍🏻
Actually, I spoke with one of the manufacturers about this. The second pack of stereo cables that have RCA jacks have the blue AMP CONT wire that you need to connect to the factory amp cable. The cable you were using is for a powered antenna. Which is why the radio turns on and gives power to turn the amp on. It’s confusing because the antenna power wire is blue just like the amp wire. Most people with factory amp might never plug in the rca cables since they aren’t using them with a factory amp, hence never locating the real amp wire.
Awesome thank you for this! I was wondering why there was a blue wire on the RCA pack. Do you know where to find or what color the factor AMP wire is for me to connect to the blue RCA wire for power? That’s where I am stuck.
Like someone mentioned earlier they spliced the ACC constant power to the AMP CONT wire so the head unit triggers the amplifier at start up versus only when the radio app is in the background.
Brother… you just saved me probably hundreds of dollars… I was like why the heck can I get radio noise but nothing else.. I was ready to hack into the main frame lol
Hey, thanks for your video. I bought a head unit for my e90 off of Amazon and didn’t return it because I knew it had to be an easy fix. After buying a cheap $5 multimeter from harbor freight, I had it fixed in a few minutes… Just like you said, I found the amp wire that was turning off when opening apps, yet it was on when using FM/AM radio and simply spliced ACC power to it. Now I can use my CarPlay. 😂

My Android 10.1 unit uses a harness for JBL amplifier. To solve the no-sound issue, I connected the AMP CTR wire from the main power plug to the AMP CTR from the RCA plug.
Thanks for the video. I too just had the same problem with my upgrade, except i had an amp wire from the radio and connected to that instead of the power antenna wire. This video only applies to an external amp. My other truck is basic and works fine. Thanks again for the video

I just found your video and I haven't tested it but I am sure your solution will the issue I have on my friends car so thank you in advance! Glad you made this video, it looks like it might have helped quite a lot of people based on the views.
This android head unit comes with a separate harness which HAS the remote amp power on it! It's the one with the audio plugs. No need to use the antenna power or tap into acc.
@@NicholasNicolaides I would measure it out with a volt meter and see if you 're getting constant 12 v coming from Amp C (continues) wire. These are sometimes used by the original car radio to sound the open door chimes and power a sub amp. You don't want to connect to that one as it probably gives you a switched continues 12 V. I think Audi may have blue wires with a white stripe as their amp power.
There is a setting in the audio portion of settings to turn the amp wire and the antenna wire on and off in the software. But, there should be another Blue wire marked Amp, and it also can be turned on and off and this is the wire yiunshould be using.

Good find Patrick, well done mate. Was hoping to find the answer to my similar problem here but I don't think this is it. But I suspect the wiring harness is wired wrong on my new head unit as well. Ignition sometimes turns the head unit on/off. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes turns off randomly sometime after you've turn the ignition off. My antenna does go up/down when the head unit turns on/off respectively, so I don't think that is my problem. Also no sound intermittently on any of the music sources (BT phone or local apps) and only a factory reset fixes this. But sometimes it doesn't lol. Pretty sure the on/off problem is due to something like the main power supplying the unit being wired up to the + wire that feeds a constant 12v supply to help the head unit hold its memory, or something like that? No idea. But I appreciate seeing that other units have had wiring issues as this gives me hope. Anyways, fun and games. If anyone recognizes any of these symptoms and can save me some headache troubleshooting, I'd appreciate the suggestions! Cheers!

No, ANT shouldn't be hooked to anything unless you have a powered antenna which most cars now dont. You hook the remote wire for your AMP up to the ACC/switched 12v wire which should be red on your harness.

thank you! I'll tap the ACC red wire and feed it to my amp remote wire tonight.
I just don't understand why they can't have the ant control output stays on with the headunit. It can be a very simple fix on the firmware side.
Thanks for the help! It works!
thanks and just wondering if you have any ideas my am quit working in my android unit but fm and spotify work fine. Any ideas to get am working again.
So i run the ANT wire to the ACC wire and that's it? What color is the ACC wire btw on the harnest to back of radio?
No, ANT shouldn't be hooked to anything unless you have a powered antenna which most cars now dont. You hook the remote wire for your AMP up to the ACC/switched 12v wire which should be red on your harness.
Will the remote wire be on my factory harnest or the Chinese android head unit?
@@lordsavior7889 Should be on your factory harness, might be on a different plug from the main radio harness. My truck is a GM vehicle for example, and the pink remote wire was on a different plug.
@@TrackDayMaker i have a 2012 Nissan Maxima and online it says the amp remote is a blue wire with white stripe ,im going to use a wire tester to see which one has power with the key on to find it.it really sucks without sound but thanks to you i have hope on solving the issue.
MAN this drives me crazy also!
So you just cut the ANT wire from the amplificator and wire it to the accessory and that's all?
I will try this fix and come back!
Thank you very much for your video!
did it work?
@@ianpaulpaul6815 i didn't try it, i replaced the motherboard of the nav.
@Ultimate Sayian i didn't try it, i replaced the motherboard of the nav.
How you get rid of the static noise coming from the unit into the amps that’s driving me crazy
Haven’t had that issue
Turn your stereo down to 0, turn your phone right up then add volume on the stereo til you are happy with the volume height. Turning up your android unit and having your phone low will cause static
I have the same problem but I have no sound at all I don’t hear the radio but I think that’s because the radio isn’t on USA stations but did you connect the ACC wire to the ATT wire?
I connected the acc wire to the amp switch wire, the ANT wire isn’t connected to anything now.
Yo lmk if u were able to fix yo problem, ig:0hWellJoel 0is a zero
hey dude!
i just got a chinese head unit but it dosent play music from all speakers any solutions?
Start with the basics, check for voltage at every point you would expect to
@@TrackDayMaker i figured out that somehow the speakers are flipped, as in the radio thinks the front speakers are in the rear and vice versa
Have you had any issues with the usb connections? Same unit here. I have zero connection coming from the USB ports. Changed usb settings around from device to host and 2.0->1 and back again. Trying anything and I get nothing. No charge, no read from a thumb drive. Haven’t gone as far to test the port with a probe yet.
I had this issue, I hooked up the usb wires upside down. Flipped them and all is goid with it now.
I’m having the same issue with the same unit... I don’t have no idea how to split wires or anything.. should I just return it?
Go to a stereo shop and have them do it
Thank you so much for your video. you are god sent
AC stopped working in my 2009 Honda Accord after installing an aftermarket android radio. Any idea why that may be??
BTW, if I remove the head unit, and install back everything factory, AC starts working.
Any help be great...
@@cesiumion uh that’s pretty crazy, I gave no idea. Start with the basics - check for shorts, wiring issues, bad grounds, etc.
Thanks man great fix
good evening if you can help me when i put the tv to play has picture but no sound. this only happens on TV radio plays normal DVD plays normal sound.
What if my radio doesn’t even work? Like no sound coming from my speakers no static at all.
Depends on your car, see if your car has a factory amp that you need to tap in to and switch on.
man thanks cause I was about to take mine out back and burn it
Doesn't it make perfect sense that the Antenna power line would only be powered in radio mode? Surely that's for a power antenna...
Do you know if this unit (double din) has a fade balance control?
I have a android Radio API 29 model , issue is Volume will Not Change , it stays on the same Level, volume will not go Louder, can someone help?
Do you know how to connect a SHA16/23? I can't get mines to work. I have a 2008 Cadillac STS. Please help. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I have the same problem, but mine, only wont play youtube when mirror linked with my android... could it be the same fix? Any advice would be appreciated.
My Bluetooth work but how do I get my subwoofers to work
Having that same issue.
My problem is that the radio is working through the speakers but not through the amp so i have no bass at all, i went to the settings and raised the bass but no good it still sounds like stereo, any suggestions?
Does your amp have a switch wire?
@@TrackDayMaker I watch a UA-cam video and it told me to factory reset the radio, I did and the Amp kicked in, thank you anyway.
Thank you so much! Just bought this and like you about pulled my hair out trying to figure this out. Did what you showed and it worked
Glad it helped!
