Diversity and Inclusion Apprentice - Kurt

Kurt completed his Diversity and Inclusion Apprenticeship working at Teen'Scape in Central Library. The program helped him learn about the numerous pathways available for librarians. For his capstone project Kurt completed an experiment showing how to remove genetic material from a strawberry to get people to think about the processing done to modern foods.
The DAIA summer program exposes students who reflect the diversity of our communities to library careers. Through a mentored learning experience, apprentices are introduced to multiple facets of library life, from administration to programming to user services.

What we offer is full accredited high school diploma and not a GED. You can give the office a call to check about transferring credits 213-228-7037
