As a freelancer, the little rant about not knowing how to take breaks hit so close to home. I really struggle with fully switching off and not doing anything without thinking of work. My brain is still stressed so I end up never truly enjoying a break. This December I worked the most humanly possible and feel like I've really earned this so I'm enjoying a break for the first time ever. I find giving myself a deadline to the break really helps me to not think about work until that day.
I loved to hear your thoughts about journals at the start, I used to be a quite explosive kid and writting down my feelings or thoughts day by day, really made me see another perspective, calm down and acknowledge that things were no that big of a deal at the end. I'll try to return to that habit, completely recommended :3
James desperately NEEDS honest to God **REAL** friends who'll call him out on his bullshit and tell him the brutal honest truth. It's like the people around him don't care or actively enable this behaviour because they are afraid of the repercussions or backlash to him being angry at them and possibly firing them or kicking them out of his house. I've had friends do some pretty awful things and I made sure to drag them through the mud because of it and force them to become better people whether they liked it or not. Otherwise I'll take my friendship elsewhere. How would I go about fixing James if I were his friend? Step 1: Sit down with your fans and be open and honest that you have a problem and are seeking change. Ask your fans what punishment they think is appropriate to appease some of the sadistic one and show you're willing to listen. Step 2: Go out on public dates with at least 5 men AT LEAST 5 years older than you. Open your eyes, get some variety, and get off the internet because nothing good comes from it. Step 3: Go out more and step away from the internet and fame and fortune. Volunteer for community service, help at shelters, old people's homes, and pet/child adoption centers (this can also help as being seen as taking punishments for your actions). I doubt James would ever see this, but it hurts to see such an influential person and trendsetter create his own downfall because he's too horny and getting hopped up on the fame and spotlight.

But speaking of CBT as, basically, the only methodology or type of therapy that you can get is just not true. For example, exposure therapy exists for OCD and is VERY effective. The person I’m closest to in my life has a TERRIBLE time taking any time off/ break. Works themselves to the bone physically and mentally and takes care of their sick and elderly mother, runs a business and NEVER takes ANY time for themselves. No matter what I say or do to encourage them to even take an hour a day to rest it doesn’t get through. Which just leaves me SO worried. All this to say Angelika, I’m glad you’re taking breaks when you need to because I’m witnessing what happens when you don’t and just keep pushing and pushing yourself and it’s not healthy. So love the plug for self care, however journaling is not a replacement for CBT. I could not find any sources for that claim from articles. However, journaling does a lot of good things for your mental health and is amazing when paired with a form of therapy, however there's no evidence that it's "just as good". Just as a clarifier. However it is more accessible than mental health care, so 10/10 if you can't access therapy.
Yeah, I was really bothered by that take. She also seemed to imply that CBT is the therapy that people would automatically receive, but there are different methodologies/types of therapy. I also think that she expresses it as a band-aid for “mental health” as if the wide array of conditions are all the same. That is a bad take as well. Finally, she stated that if you journal, you will find out that you don’t really feel how you think you do-and that also seems to be something that would apply only to certain Cindy and people, but not a blanket reality. For example, when I am having a hypomania cycle for my bipolar 2, and I were to write down and journal about what are my feelings, I wouldn’t discover that I didn’t actually feel that way. Maybe a person from the outside would see the disordered thinking, but I wouldn’t. I HAVE written down feelings during episodes and that only seemed to solidify how I felt!!
I agree with you sooo much on journaling!! It’s so important and incredibly beneficial for you to get your thoughts and feelings out in some way. It’s not healthy at all to keep it bottled in all the time. And writing it as if it were a letter to or about something is a great tip! ☺️

You can't pour from an empty cup, girl You'll be the best mom/partner/friend when you're the best you. Take time for yourself too. And as your little one grows and sees mom taking care of herself and not just running herself ragged each day, they'll learn healthy boundaries with themselves too and will know when to stop and take a breather. Mom guilt sucks but you're doing great!! ❤
My everyday break doubles as remembering to nourish myself. I will not work during lunch or dinner. That is time to fuel my body. Plus a lil show in the back too.

I think it's not even about feeling like you're okay to take a break, it's needed. You do something that many of us just watch for the entertainment and actually doing it full time amazes me and takes a lot of time and effort. Take as much time as you need because it is the most important thing. You have all the love and support from all of the people around on this platform. I'm making a promise to myself to journal and do yoga daily this year. I've tried both in the past and enjoy them but I never prioritize caring for myself. I am making myself this year. I think a lot of us have a hard time taking a better break bc of guilt or work expectations. But we have one life, one body, and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Why not be more present?
so ive been in therapy since i was like 8 and I've done quite a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy. I tried journaling but I have this problem with my thoughts racing faster than i can cohesively get them down on paper. So now I literally talk through my problems out loud to myself. I realize if someone were to see or overhear this I would seem absolutely bonkers, but people have been perceiving me that way for a while now anyway due to other symptoms lol. It really does help to just get it out. Theres times where Ill literally trail off and stop mid sentence because I feel better and don't want to keep talking. Maybe that's helpful advice? Maybe I've finally fully gone crazy? Idk. Someone else try it and tell me if it works for them 😂

Step 2: Go out on public dates with at least 5 men AT LEAST 5 years older than you. Open your eyes, get some variety, and get off the internet because nothing good comes from it.
Step 3: Go out more and step away from the internet and fame and fortune. Volunteer for community service, help at shelters, old people's homes, and pet/child adoption centers (this can also help as being seen as taking punishments for your actions).
I doubt James would ever see this, but it hurts to see such an influential person and trendsetter create his own downfall because he's too horny and getting hopped up on the fame and spotlight.

I agree except for I thought that her perspective was a bit uninformed. Yes, journaling can be quite helpful. But speaking of CBT as, basically, the only methodology or type of therapy that you can get is just not true. For example, exposure therapy exists for OCD and is VERY effective.
I just don’t want her young viewers to journal rather than seek medical help.

My journal got read when I was younger, so now I will literally have a panic attack if I write my emotions down. I just can’t do it. I feel like my husband would 100% read it as well, but that may just be paranoia 😅

The person I’m closest to in my life has a TERRIBLE time taking any time off/ break. Works themselves to the bone physically and mentally and takes care of their sick and elderly mother, runs a business and NEVER takes ANY time for themselves. No matter what I say or do to encourage them to even take an hour a day to rest it doesn’t get through. Which just leaves me SO worried. All this to say Angelika, I’m glad you’re taking breaks when you need to because I’m witnessing what happens when you don’t and just keep pushing and pushing yourself and it’s not healthy. Glad you’re back though!
Some people work as little as possible and some work as much as possible. Both are becuase of underlying, deeper issues.

So love the plug for self care, however journaling is not a replacement for CBT. I could not find any sources for that claim from articles. However, journaling does a lot of good things for your mental health and is amazing when paired with a form of therapy, however there's no evidence that it's "just as good". Just as a clarifier. However it is more accessible than mental health care, so 10/10 if you can't access therapy.
Yeah, I was really bothered by that take. She also seemed to imply that CBT is the therapy that people would automatically receive, but there are different methodologies/types of therapy.
I also think that she expresses it as a band-aid for “mental health” as if the wide array of conditions are all the same. That is a bad take as well. Finally, she stated that if you journal, you will find out that you don’t really feel how you think you do-and that also seems to be something that would apply only to certain Cindy and people, but not a blanket reality. For example, when I am having a hypomania cycle for my bipolar 2, and I were to write down and journal about what are my feelings, I wouldn’t discover that I didn’t actually feel that way. Maybe a person from the outside would see the disordered thinking, but I wouldn’t. I HAVE written down feelings during episodes and that only seemed to solidify how I felt!!
I agree with you sooo much on journaling!! It’s so important and incredibly beneficial for you to get your thoughts and feelings out in some way. It’s not healthy at all to keep it bottled in all the time. And writing it as if it were a letter to or about something is a great tip! ☺️

You'll be the best mom/partner/friend when you're the best you. Take time for yourself too. And as your little one grows and sees mom taking care of herself and not just running herself ragged each day, they'll learn healthy boundaries with themselves too and will know when to stop and take a breather. I think it's not even about feeling like you're okay to take a break, it's needed. You do something that many of us just watch for the entertainment and actually doing it full time amazes me and takes a lot of time and effort. Take as much time as you need because it is the most important thing. You have all the love and support from all of the people around on this platform. I'm making a promise to myself to journal and do yoga daily this year. I've tried both in the past and enjoy them but I never prioritize caring for myself. I am making myself this year. I think a lot of us have a hard time taking a better break bc of guilt or work expectations. But we have one life, one body, and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Why not be more present?

so ive been in therapy since i was like 8 and I've done quite a lot of cognitive behavioral therapy. I tried journaling but I have this problem with my thoughts racing faster than i can cohesively get them down on paper. So now I literally talk through my problems out loud to myself. I realize if someone were to see or overhear this I would seem absolutely bonkers, but people have been perceiving me that way for a while now anyway due to other symptoms lol. It really does help to just get it out. Theres times where Ill literally trail off and stop mid sentence because I feel better and don't want to keep talking. Maybe that's helpful advice? Maybe I've finally fully gone crazy? Idk. Someone else try it and tell me if it works for them 😂
