Hey there 😃 Here's the link for the Birds Nest tutorial I mentioned in the video: ua-cam.com/video/wo_oNyOLWrY/v-deo.html Let me know what your favorite project was down below 🤗 Have a wonderful weekend 🙂 💖
Wow Donna each one turned out so gorgeous. It's hard to choose just one, but if I did it would be the ones with birch bark on the peat pots. I go around on our property looking for natural things, pinecones, twigs, branches, rocks. We all have wild raspberries on our property too. I've made pies and cookies with them all. Take care and God Bless y'all always
Mmmm, yummy berries. We forgage berries too 😃 I'm thinking I may need to do something with rocks, I found a stash in my craft room 😆 Thanks for watching Lisa. Have a great week 💖
Back east in Rhode Island I had a lot of opportunities to forage. Bittersweet vine, pine boughs of all types, pine cones, birch bark and paperbark maple, autumn foliage, puusywillows and forsythia in late winter for forcing, lichen, moss, stones, seashells, rose hips, hydrangeas for drying-most of this in my backyard! I am sure I have forgotten something. Now in the Desert Southwest, I find slimmer pickings. Still find pine cones. There are also cool pieces of skeletonized cacti, and interesting roots and branches, especially of mesquite. Also mesquite bark peels off sometimes. Today I found a small bird’s nest on the ground. I placed in back in a tree. Great projects in this video.
I have actually been curious about what can be found in the desert for crafting 🤔 Skeltonized cacti sounds so cool!! I wonder if our cacti here where I live do that? I will have to be on the hunt!! Thanks so much for watching and sharing 😊 Have a wonderful week 💖
Yellow is such a happy color! I loved the nest, yellow birds and yellow roses. I am scared to forage in AR because of snakes. My maple trees have started to bud, so I may look for a branch to cut. I just wish I could reach the now-empty tiny nest, but I know that is illegal some places.
All of these are beautiful, as usual! I like to gather pine cones, rocks, branches, bird feathers, moss, lichen, & pick huckleberries; they are amazing in pancakes & muffins.
Sounds great! So many fun natural treasures to find 😄 I haven't tried huckleberries yet, I need to see where I can find them!! Thanks for watching Chanah 💖
Your pots are driving my imagination wild. I see too you are such a lover of these little twigs and branches. I find them adorable, the way they twist and turn. Foraging is just so exciting. Simply love, love this video.
I am so excited to go buy pea pots know that decoupage bird is so adorable I love the branch and that little wreath was perfect and those flowers oh so cute and the bird was perfect that rub on transfer looks so elegant your nest is so cute we have birch bark in our mountains here in Wyoming pine cones different logs and sticks I find interesting I have moss in my back yard different barks I find interesting that little box set is so cute I do love that blue color it’s beautiful I adore all the embellishments and great idea for a nest thank you for sharing
Here in west central Minnesota, I go foraging around our farm property for birch bark, moss, twigs of all kinds, rocks, pine cones, seed pods, bittersweet... I also make my own grapevine wreaths, and more delicate wreaths from other vines that grow here.😊
Ooo, I have been wanting to make my own wreath. I'll have to see if my father-in-law still has his grape vine clippings. I'll have to see what else can be used around here. Thanks for the idea 😊 Thanks for watching and sharing. Have a great week 💖
Wow, you are so blessed to get that birch bark while foraging! I use chunks of fallen trees and bark in my yard too. Our style is very similar-you do amazing artistry here! 👍🏻❤️😊
Aw, thanks so much. I appreciate it 😉 I will have to stop by your channel more often, I get so busy between family, home, and YT that I don't have much time in between 🤪 I'm sure you understand 😉 Thanks so much for watching, I really appreciate it!! Take care 💖 🙂
I am so glad that I found your channel a year ago, love all of your crafts and ideas, you are a Canadian version of me through and through, I and my husband also love to go looking for nature things to use in my crafts, don't ever stop doing what you do and make 🫠😊🌿
Aw, this warms my heart Tracy 🥰 Thank you so much for your kind words. It's fun going out together to Forage, great way to bond 😄 Thanks so much for watching and for your support, it's greatly appreciated 😊 💖
These are SO sweet for spring decor. They're all very cute. That last one is just adorable! I can't forage like I used to but where I live we can find MANY things to use in our crafts. I live in the north central part of Kentucky in the country. If you research that just a little, you'll see the wide variety of things that surround me. VERY beautiful area I get to call home 💖. I also have 3 major waterways that run through my county...2 of which come together & that area is known to locals as "the point". One of the rivers that come together there is the great Ohio River. Anyway, LOTS to forage here 💖.
Aw, thanks so much Liyana, I appreciate it!! They sure are an awesome supply to have for Spring 🤗 Thanks so much for watching my friend. I hope all is well. I've been under the weather, hoping I will feel better soon!! Hugs 💗
I believe this is my 2nd time watching this video. I loved it that much and wanted to create peat pots like yours. I recently moved into a tiny cottage and the owners live on property too. They have over 20 acres and I was welcomed to wander around as pleased. Ivevforaged some beautiful birch and twigs. I'm about to look 4 moss and other things in nature. I want to make a birds nest and I know u have a tutorial so I'm watching that next. I love it here in the country in upstate NY. I'm originally from LI. As I grew up there everything is surrounded by beaches and the water. This change to the country has its ups and downs but I've been here over 30 years. I enjoy watching you and your creativity is so inspiring. Thank you 4 sharing your projects and your knowledge of things of nature. I also watch making it my own with Brandy. The 2 of you are my favorite to watch on you tube.
Yay, glad you enjoyed Doris. I am so happy you were inspired!! It's fun foraging isn't it 😃 Sounds like a lovely place where you live. Thanks for watching. Have a great day!!☺️💖
I really enjoy your videos. I live in the state of Oregon, USA and I forage the exact same things , as you do. I truly love moss, too; I challenge myself to forage as many different varieties as I can and plant them in a shade garden outdoors. Yesterday, I watched your video, talking about bug worries...I place items in zip lock or trash bags with a good bug spray (ortho home defense or bugstop, from Amazon) apply spray directlt to items or spray in bag & seal shut for a week and that takes care of any issues, open every couple of days to check for mildew or dry outside, prior to treating. 😊 I love natural woodland crafts as well as velvet, tapestry, lace, crazy quilt & denim crafts. As far as mushroom spores, I am thinking if you spray with a matte fixative would possibly prevent that.???
Oh that's awesome!!! Yes, we would be collecting a lot of the same things 😃So cool!!! Those are excellent tips, thank you. I never thought of bug spray. And I have thought about a spray sealant, not sure if it'll work. I have only had the issue once. Thanks so much for your suggestions and support. Happy crafting 💖🤗🌿
I loved the last pead pot. The colors chosen are beautiful. Thank you for sharing. The first 🐦 bird pead pot was beautiful as well . Have a blessed week
Hello Donna. You are very creative with your nature videos. You remind me of Sherry from Canterbury Cottage. Your ideas are original, well thought through and executed well. I enjoy your videos to the max and I cannot wait for March 2nd when myself, hubby and two 21 years visit parts of USA and of course The Dollar Tree among other stores. Craft stores here I come. Keep up your fantastic work. Bless
Aw, thanks so much 🤗 I am sooo happy you enjoyed!! I actually live in Canada. I can't wait to go shopping in the US stores too. Planning a trip later this year 😄 Thanks so much for stopping by. Take care Fiona 💖
So beautiful Donna! I think the last one with the little handle would make a cute Easter basket for older kids and adults. Add a gift card, some wrapped candy, or even a seed packet to plant something in the pot. Thank you for your inspiration and wonderful style!
I'm in Southern Arizona so there's not a whole lot of the types of materials that you use. But we do have Ocotillo and other type of cactus skeleton. We also do you have branches from trees but they're very different from the trees that you have. There are some places that have pine cones but those are rare. Most everything that we have here has stickers Galore. But I am gaining inspiration on how to use the materials in my area from your videos. So thank you. Oh I loved everything you did in this video. I want to try the peat pots. Last year I made some bird nest and stuck them on springs from an old mattress, Looked great. My birds were too heavy so I need to find some way to weight them down. Or make eggs instead.
All of these were beautiful! Here in NW Florida we have pine, cedar, oak, sweet gum, cypress, some maple, China berry, pecan and a few others I'm probably forgetting but unfortunately no Burch trees and our pine trees don't make those tiny pinecones I like to use in Christmas crafts. We also have several fruit trees that make pretty limbs to use. We don't have a true fall season with the pretty colors here but I have dried many different leaves from different trees and bushes and would love to use them some how, any ideas?

Have you ever tried to decoupage with dried leaves on anything? I'm thinking I may try incorporating some in a journal or some other scrapbooking projects 🤔. Thanks for sharing with us 😊
