The birch is just beautiful. To me, the old looking initials on the tree is a Valentine. It's just special. I appreciate how you bring in so much of nature.
Donna have you done any diys with big mushrooms..I went foraging before we got snow here in Maine and I came across downed trees and on sides of the dead stumps were big hard mushrooms that I cut off the stump..Foraging in the woods is so sereal, calming and being in nature is wonderful and relaxing..
No I haven't. But I sure do want to 😉 I will go foraging again once the snow has melted. I will try to find a big one. I do have a couple of small ones. I'll put my thinking cap on!! Thanks for watching. Take care 💖
Donna these are so beautiful and sweet❣️ I would absolutely leave these up year round 🥰 There is no way to pick a favorite, but wood burning is so fun I love the heart!
Oh wow Donna, you did an awesome awesome job again! I absolutely love each one of these! Fantastic!👍👍 I'm going to try to make one like your birch vase. I might try to make one of those small pieces of wood like you did for my husband. This is going to be fun.😃Take care and God Bless y'all always
Thank you for the unique Valentine's inspiration! I love the mixed media aspect with natural materials. How fortunate you are to have easy access to the lichen & birch bark. Definitely worth the wait, & not a gaudy red/pink diy in the bunch 😉 Thanks!
Donna, Are you contaminating the decoupage by repeating the brush on the branch and back in the decoupage like a brush in different colors of paint or when icing a cake or cupcakes and getting the colors mixed in by mistake. I was painting last night and used gesso as a primer, after an hour I thought it was dry. Just one coat is all I applied. On this little bird house, my son got me as a gift from DT. I started painting the top with yellow chalk paint from Walmart. I was coming near the end and this area I most have put too much gesso. It wasn’t all the way dry, so the white came through. Well, that section of the roof is a lighter section. Well, I stopped painting and put my supplies up and cleaned up my station and washed up my brushes. I will try tomorrow to add another coat of yellow chalk paint to the lighter section of top of the birdhouse and see how it looks And paint over the other sections also. I will complete the painting no matter how it turns out, and seal it with a sealer. The loss of my husband and in-laws and all the other nine relatives over the last four and and a half years has been unbelievable devastating. My health in it’s self has not been the greatest. I can’t turn one way without something happening to me. Minor heart attack with heart cauterization, Atrial Fibrillation, Asthma due to the aspiration of a popcorn husk. It is so weird. I coughed myself almost to death. Seriously, the husk was stuck. A nebulizer treatment in the ER helped to moisten and whatever needed to be done to help it attach to sputum and I coughed it up with sputum. If it had not happened, I was gonna have to be sedated and a pulmonologist was going to have to do an “expedition” and retrieve the little sucker that was causing me such difficulties. For days, I couldn’t barely talk. All the coughing, had irritated my throat and vocal cords. Thank God for all He did and for taking such care of me and for the such knowledge He instilled in the Medical Staff. Thank You God For all the Medical Staff from the Beginning of time, Present and Future. I know I went around the world and back with my post, but sometimes it happens like that. I do love your DIY’s. I just have questions sometimes? Love you all. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Hi Denise 🤗 No worries. You are always welcome to post here. Sometimes we need to put it out there, I totally understand😉 I will keep you in my prayers 🙏 Yes, if the gesso is thick, it can take longer to dry. I have an overhead vent that blows down onto my projects, helps with drying. I'm not concerned about my decoupage glue, but that's just me. I have tried pouring it into another container, but then I waste so much because I forget to pour it back, or I get lazy and don't bother pouring it back 😂 It's just personal preference 😉 Thanks so much for watching Denise. You take care. Hugs 🤗💕
Maybe try to unsubscribe and then subscribe again and click on "all". I have found that UA-cam has done this to me before and I had to "reactivate" my subscription to an account. Frustrating!! Thanks for checking in Mary Ellen, I appreciate it 💖
It seems wrong to cup up a Bible, but verses could be cut from a Bible for the project with the branches. Better yet, photocopy or type out the verses.
Yes, photocopies will work, you just need to be careful if it's inkjet. The ink will reactivate if you're using water-based glue like decoupage glue. You could maybe use a devotional. Great idea though!! Thanks for stopping by Mary Ellen. Take care 💖😄
You are so blessed to have your love forage with you. Makes your creations that much more special!

There are a ton of bibles for sale at Dollar Tree. Better you buy one to use for crafts then they toss it out one day. 😁
