    This helped me a lot when installing mine, thank you.
    For those asking how to take off the A Pillar cover, don't. Just use a small pry tool to push the power cable behind the top of the A Pillar cover, then use the black molding around the door to run it down to the foot well. If you have a rear camera use the same molding to go the other way towards the back of the vehicle. If the worst happens and you have an airbag deployment, that little bit of cable at the top of the A Pillar is not going to prevent your airbag deployment.

    Maybe instead of saying you “popped off” parts you can show how to pop them off?

    congratulations for the video, very explanatory. I have two questions. First, what size fuse goes on the Bolt? I saw on Amazon that the adapter with the wire has several sizes. 2.7mm, 2.9mm, 5.2mm... would you have the Amazon link where you bought yours? second question: you only showed the plug for the post switch power, but where did you get the 12v power from the battery and the ground?

      Honestly I forget what size it is I know it’s a mini blade don’t remember which one. For the power for the camera I took one of the empty few slots there’s a couple slots that have Keyed on power and there’s a couple that have constant power. I would have to go look and see which place I put it at to know for sure. I do remember I used one of the empty spaces. that had no fuse in it.

    Although the S1 has been out for about 4 years, still like the design and options.
    How has it been going for you so far? Recommend it? Thanks.

      I have not had any major issue. I do have format the card from time to time to record correctly. The main thing has been price. I have been able to buy them on sale. Also I want to record front and back not record inside the car for rear view like same.

    Thanks for your great video. Does Bolt EUV fuse number 32 for the ionizer provide enough power for the Vantrue dashcam to enable 24x7 Parking Surveillance Mode? Where did you attach the ground? Thank you!

      I believe it does but not 100% sure to honest. I took one of the bolts for the dash by the fuse box. Might have been a nut a stud. I have look later for sure.

      There's a bolt to the left and up some of the inside fuse box. I took a 10mm socket with elbow socket to get to it, but it's conveniently located next to the fuse box.

    hi!! thank you for this video! i do have a question though, being hardwired; does the dash cam turn off automatically when you turn the car off or do you need to manually shut it off?

    • @ev6969
      @ev6969 Рік тому

      with parking mode enabled does it turn off automatically?

    • @kingdeadlego
      @kingdeadlego  Рік тому

      Not sure with parking mode due to the fact that my driveway face is a busy road and it picks up traffic sometimes. As far as the camera turning on and off automatically it depends on what fuse I have the camera plugged into. If I have it set up with one that has power all the time the camera does not turn off if I have a plugged in the one that is a keyed on and off power then it does turn off.

    My experience with this dash cam was not good, at all. I hardwired it to my car and it worked fine for a few months, then suddenly it would randomly cycle on and off until I physically powered it off. Reformatting the Vantrue memory card didn't work and neither did resetting the camera itself. I reached out to Vantrue and they had me update the firmware, which didn't fix it. Vantrue then asked me to send them a video of the issue, so I did, even they were stumped so they decided to send me a new one. Instead of hard wiring the new one I decided to use the cigarette lighter option instead, just in case, I even bought a new Vantrue memory card, and guess what? The camera did the EXACT same thing, except it happened a lot quicker, maybe a few weeks. I didn't even bother reaching out to Vantrue again. I tossed that camera in the trash where it belonged.
    Piece. Of. Crap!

    you should not pass the wire for the back cam like you did because it's on the way of the airbag

      Not sure. I have done anything with the N4. I would think I would be very similar of a install

    I have just had this cam installed and would like to know if it blinks during park mode so I know the camera is working but I don’t see any light or indicator.

    I wasn't able to see where you grounded your fuse

    • @kingdeadlego
      @kingdeadlego  Рік тому

      With the fuse are you sure that is ground side? Most fuse are usually on the power side.
      With my ground I just use a bolt under the dash

    You skipped the hardest step which is the highest risk - how to pop off the A-pillar cover without breaking the clips.
    That is the part i am most worried about.
