Lots of this you learn through trial and error, but there really is an art to it and more than one way to setup a camera.
All the same thanks for sharing I bet this is a question you get quite a bit. Very interesting still to dive into your setup and that you shoot in 4k.

Speaking from experience with using a sticky mount on a motorcycle helmet they are more than strong enough to keep your gopro safely on your helmet. I've crashed and actually broke the mount on the chin of the helmet but the mount itself was still in there. For someone that doesn't switch helmets it's a good option and easy to use

Do you worry about the snow/water getting into the wireless mic?
How do you keep yourself in the frame while riding? You move the stick from behind you to in front while riding and still looks flawless

What is the best editing software to use as well? Videoproc vlogger?
Still using the hero 8 and for snowboarding vids it still holds strong. Not quite ready to justify the upgrade to an 11 despite some of the newer features
The biggest improvement is the stabilization.
And battery life... at least I recall me 8 died super quick all the time. Versions after that use a bigger battery.

Low level computer is compromising to video editing, but if you edit using GoPros “LR-“ file you can edit in low res and convert the whole video to 4k after!

Same thoughts. Make use of proxy files is much better then filming in low resolution.
Is it the same as doing normal proxies?
Have you tried the Insta360 1-Inch Leica edition? The dynamic range on this is really good.

Edit after personal research* he uses the neweer 3 cold shoe mount as an extension for use with shotgun mic. Gonna try it as well to see if it keeps my mic out of the shot.
What I need personally need that shoe mount where it boosted your shotgun mic higher! I bought the rode dual shoe mount but still happen to see the mic pop in from time to time forcing me to crop my videos.
Do you have specific ISO settings & Sharpness? Or do you change depending on the conditions

Going snowboarding in Tahoe next weekend. My go pro 11 I keep it on 4k, 60-30 fps 8x7, or 5.3, 30flps. I use the go pro app for editing. I'm also a Noone in editing. I mainly use IG and it's for IG reels. What do you think of the app for editing? Is a computer better to edit? I'm a noob
if you are only making reels you can get by with editing on the phone, it's more limited but it doesn't mean simple editing can't be good!

I’ve got a hero 3, never really got to grips with it … I should definitely invest the time in learning … What laptop/editing software do you use? I don’t suppose the 3 is upto much atm, still worth keeping or upgrade?
Upgrading is probably worth it. The stabilization on the new GoPros is incredible, where the GoPro 3 is goi g to look very shaky

I just spent a few hours on the phone with GoPro support requesting some OS features with the media mod and getting some spare parts it would be nice to have independent gain control with the media mod so the mics dont get blown out with wind noise…

I think the 11 works well without the lens mod because it has built it horizon lock

Good stuff! Do you ever film with a 360 camera? What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of them?
360 cam is easier to film with, and give you more angles to choose from. But lower quality and takes more time to edit. I prefer GoPro for day to day filming and the 360 camera once in a while.

GoPro 9 also freezes with the mode on. I don’t that the freezing holds a while if I don’t do short clips. If I do short clips, after 3-4 clips it will freeze. Cheers.
My brother got a hero 11 a few weeks ago and he works at aspen and he lost it on a pow day there a few days ago which sucks
