I hope the va disability benefits aren't delayed. Va disability payments are my only source of income.
The Va Sec. says this after he flubbed giving bonuses to the management and then retaliates by calling out a budget crisis at the last minute.
Oof, yeah…I’m pretty sure he’s outta here and that leak was real for his resignation.

@@TheCivDiv Considering nearly ALL congressional Republicans voted AGAINST the PACT Act, they don't want to fund it and the bonuses are miniscule compared to that. The VA has had to play games with budgets since 2022 because if they actually said what they needed the Republicans would have balked! It's the Republicans that constantly want to play games with vets and what they need, leaving the VA to play games with what they provide to Congress. Once the adults are finally in charge again starting in 2025, you'll see accurate budgets moving forward. You see this on the Senate side, they were adult enough to pass the money to fill the gap. Wait, who is in charge in the Senate again? 🤔 And who is in charge of the House and is making us wait and putting vets at risk? 🤔
Enough already, give vets the support they need for the service they gave!
Let's not forget that while Congress mandated the VA to add costly programs, it neglected to provide the funding for these programs.
Most of them just want their name on a generous sounding bill (whether it's actually funded or not) just for their reelection campaign talking points.

They need to make legislation that the amount spent on foreign aid & wars never accedes the Amount that we spend on our Veterans, and maintaining our own infrastructure.
Wish there was someone actually overseeing where the money is being spent and actually hold these people accountable for their actions. Of course i know this will never happen as it's our government we're talking about. Reaching out to veterans on this group on ideas/opinions on how this would be fixed/managed moving forward any input would greatly be appreciated and as always clay thank you for what you do. The VA knows exactly how many claims are in the pipeline. Shouldn’t be too hard to extrapolate potential compensation and healthcare benefit dollars. 🤦♀️
We have faced these issues continually over the last 24 yrs that i have been at 100%. Always a last minute cept 2 or 3 yrs on Sept 30th but the managed to pay Vets even with if govt shuts down. Politicians do not want a black eye in an election year not supporting and will pass a measure to resolve it.. anything else is gaslighting for youtube views

Back in July I was awarded 100% for a few conditions due to Agent Orange(PACT Act) exposure. Back compensation to June 2023. I am still waiting for the back compensation to show up.

Still in absolutely NO way believing all the click-bait topics. Just because some (who just happens to be the POS running the screwed up VA) SAYS somethings at risk doesn't mean, in any way, that its at risk! Yes... 100%, the issue needs resolved! But that in no way equates to the VA not spending money they don't have... ie... the shortfall already exists!
IF, on 27 or 30 Sept you don't see a deposit coming then you can safely assume that the payments didn't go out. Until then its all nothing but fluff and attention whoring
All congressional funds like this are held hostage until the last minute just before the fiscal year. It's a haggling technique that gets ironed out. Come October I always have my GPC funds to spend.
And this is what's fucked up. They kept on telling us the VA is fully funded through the end of the FY. The payment we get on October 1st is for September 2024 which is the previous FY. So much for that if it comes to pass.
All I can say is this, as a veteran myself, it’s hard if this is our only income, but we’ve become to dependent on the VA, and we are like hamsters on a hamster wheel at this point, and they know this. What are we going to do to change all this? I know that I will get a lot of angry replies, but we know it’s true.

Lots of money to forgive student loans. Not budgeted. Ten Billion +.
Right November which means in reality they would probably still have time to make payments went out. Could mean a late payment cutoff in late October but would probably still get paid unless they just refused to pass it. Either way called already.
It also needs to be spoken about with the recent inconsistency of post 9/11 GI Bill MHA payments. You have no idea when you're going to get paid. Could be randomly early or could be 10 days after the end of the month. It makes it increasingly hard to budget if you're relying on this income to pay bills. There is some wires crossed at the VA right now. If you're not gonna pay us on time then let us go online and still receive the housing allowance, so we're not spending our entire days in class when we could be doing something to make up for the lack of on time payments.

Any spending starts in the House. That is controlled by Republicans right now. When they’re ready to allow us to get paid I guess we will get paid in any event even if there isn’t a delay it is not fair that they used Veterans as a political statement if that’s what they’re actually doing. A lot of veterans deal with anxiety and this will affect them not knowing if they’re going to get paid or not or what political party is going to be a roadblock in their payment. Even if you don’t suffer from anxiety or other issues, you may rely on these payments, and now you may feel at risk of not being able to pay your bills. This is unacceptable of any political party to do to their veterans.
Politically- Both sides are to blame. I don’t see any of the Senate or House Committees admitting they missed the budget projections they receive monthly from the CBO. That isn’t one or two, it isn’t just one side of the aisle, it’s both sides. They either don’t read the monthly projections, or they didn’t care, no one raised a red flag. Once it was made public, look at the finger pointing, both sides will blame the other.
Every Vet should be asking their elected Rep why, and tell them they get a monthly report, why didn’t they do something, and how do they plan on fixing it. Don’t let them get away with pointing blame elsewhere.
Maybe they can claw back some of the $$ they sent to the Taliban and the $6B they sent Iran and reallocate that. Budget shortfall solved...
