    Patsy struggled with her husband's abuse. He was so bad to her. She died young I believe 29 years old in a plane crash. Wille Nelson wrote the song and she sang it her way. P.S she was best friends with Loretta Lynn
    RIP Patsy

      @@sammyp4216 Of course he did. Did you know he originally intended the song to be sung by Billy Walker? Good for us that Billy turned it down and Patsy picked it up. I've also heard that the song was originally titled "Stupid". I don't know if that is true or not, but I have seen it in a couple of articles. Peace, Love!!

    She was also in a near fatal car accident, which is why she’s wearing that headband to hide the scars. Patsy was such a great talent❤️

      Crazy was released in 1961.. Patsy's wreck was in 1963. She wore the gold band as a fashion statement, not to hide scars. Her scars also ran from down her forehead into her cheek bones. A head band would not cover them all.

    • @leannmiller7153
      @leannmiller7153 3 роки тому +9

      @@kenspann1481 that’s incorrect. Patsy was in the near fatal car accident on June 14, 1961. She was on crutches when she recorded Crazy. The deep cut was across her forehead. She used wigs, hairpieces, but mostly the headband. The video was actually the Pet Milk Grand Ole Opry Show and recorded in early 1962. Patsy died in the plane crash on March 5, 1963.

    Everyone needs to wrap thier heads around this. The microphones back then were so sensitive and it was up to the singer to control pitch and flatness. She commanded her voice on what was then next level performance. That made everyone for the next 10 years to sing at a higher lever to compete or wait for technology to surpassed it's then very basic state. Simply remarkable voice control

    • @tammyblackwell499
      @tammyblackwell499 3 роки тому +10

      Yes sir, Well said, it was definitely up to the singer to control the timber, pitch & tone, harmony & stay in key, regardless if on stage or in the studio, record companies didn't want to waste money on tape so what you see is what you get That's why there was so much awesome music out of that time back to the Everly Brothers who's pitch, tune, tone & Harmony were perfect! No auto tune, No, oh okay so you messed that up, no problem just redo it, that didn't happen because it was all on tape! You could only rewind a tape so many times, so if you didn't get it right the first time you better get it right kind of quick or else you didn't have a job! Nowadays kids will never know, because what they listen to today is auto tuned bull squirt!

      I love technology but it did allow ego, flash and hype rule the music apposed to true raw talent. Not little kids. Ya you are so right. My Dad had several country music bands dedicated to the old school. He never opted to progress away from the old school mics and stuff to new technology except when he needed a PA system for a larger hall. He had to preserve the old ways for the sound. I remember them working sometimes an hour to get everything in synch correctly and then it was up to him to sing it right. He also wrote many a song that never got published. I still have two of his old mics in the old wooden carry case they came in.

      Thank you for highlighting this. Not only did she have one of the most powerful voices but she also had total control of it. When you see video of her she doesn’t move the mic for crescendos or decrescendos and you can barely see her take her breaths.

    Patsy Cline was from my home state of Virginia, and she's a legend here. Willie Nelson wrote this song, and he could have retired from the royalties he made from writing it. As I've written earlier, the country music vibe is strong down here. Patsy Cline was a great crossover artist, and her country songs made the pop charts as well. She's made the Old Dominion proud, and I really like the reverence that you gave her performance. This video and your reaction to Eddie Van Halen's "Eruption" are easily my two favorite videos of yours. Sometimes you just need to stand in awe of the artist, and that's what you did. Listening to Patsy Cline is tantamount to hearing angels sing. Of course that's her voice, they didn't have all that fancy tech stuff back then. "Sweet Dreams" and "Walkin' After Midnight" are songs that will serve you well on your path to know Miss Patsy.

    She has such perfect control of her voice, and she doesn’t anticipate the next word or note, she just slides into the next.

    Thank uou for this selectio . I remember the distain I felt as a young child when my aunt and uncle played and enjoyed Patsy. I now respect the quiet confidence dispayed, quietly holding back and interacting with the piano as she sang.

    You are so right about the high tenor. I hate it when I hear people sing her songs in soprano. She had a beautiful low and smooth voice. 😘

    Yes that was here family they were still married when she unfortunately passed. Even if her marriage was volatile at times they loved each other. I think Patsy Cline is the greatest female singer of ALL times! Thank you for sharing her music.🙏
