I was honored to play in the musical and to be apart of such a great story of African American Music Heritage. ow they were all so thin. I loved doing that production. The original play DID take from the supremes but it wasn't their biography set to music. They just took elements. Making the "prettiest " or favorite girl the lead when she wasn't the best singer, Effie being forced out like Florence Ballard & struggling with alcohol (og play touched on it, they left it out of the movie) Play initially was written with Effie dying like Florence but Jennifer Holliday fought for the character to live and prosper. It's just enough of the Supremes life that you recognize it but not so much they had to pay anybody
I took piano and voice lessons with Ms. Sheryl Lee Ralph's father Dr. Stanley Ralph. He was so patient with me. I will always be appreciative, and I hope to make him proud one day.

The original play DID take from the supremes but it wasn't their biography set to music. They just took elements. Making the "prettiest " or favorite girl the lead when she wasn't the best singer, Effie being forced out like Florence Ballard & struggling with alcohol (og play touched on it, they left it out of the movie) Play initially was written with Effie dying like Florence but Jennifer Holliday fought for the character to live and prosper. It's just enough of the Supremes life that you recognize it but not so much they had to pay anybody

I took piano and voice lessons with Ms. Sheryl Lee Ralph's father Dr. Stanley Ralph. He was so patient with me. I will always be appreciative, and I hope to make him proud one day.
