Cher must have worked very hard. MJ was unbelievable in terms of singing and his dancing. Cher had to drop into line with the Jackson Five choreography and sing too! She did fair job at what must have been short notice. Those guys were dripping with talent and super tight! Her singing was pretty cool! Wow!
I used to watch the Sonny and Cher show, but I do not remember this performance. All I can say watching this well over 40 years later, is how immensely talented the Jacksons were. And that’s a given. They were wonderfully talented artists. However, what also blows me away is how underrated Cher was at the time and has always been by certain critics and how she was always being put down back then, and yet when I watch her, I see someone who worked so hard, who learned, who strived and never expected anything to be given to her and who really deserves her icon status. She worked very hard, to be able to pull this off. This is a wonderful performance for both the Jackson 5 and Cher.
I am a lifelong fan of Cher and always thought her to be a top performer and a great talent. Three years ago, I saw her in concert in Glasgow, something I thought I would never see. Very emotional experience!!!
Okay, the guitars were not plugged in but they were Playing. The robot sequence of Michael was mind blowing. Love Cher keeping up with the dancing and the Hair!!! Love this!
When Michael was sayin', "Shake it baby" then started pointing to Cher, Cher was shakin' her body down to the ground. Cher took it ALL the way down. It was so fun to see that because that's when television was great during the BEST decade EVER. 1970 thru 1979. Great job Cher. You held your own.

I wish we still had this kind of programing today. Those 70s variety shows were fabulous. I grew up loving Michael. I still do. I don't remember most of us kids caring about his moves. We were blown away by his voice. Soul ruled then.❤ I adored Cher's fashion sense!
The talk shows were good too
Now we have idiots in a mask and costume😂
See my dad and his brothers were big on his dancing too!
I love their dance moves!
Are you kidding me?!?!? These vocals from Mj and Cher are incredible!!!!!
They are, even if they are lip synced

@krazy karl. Yes but in this show they are miming the songs.
This one was mimed I think, but most of them are sung live.
@@dogman5680 I used to dance and sing in heavily choreographed productions- you get pretty winded after 2 songs.
That’s why they record it in the studio & lip synch later.
Cher’s incredible. Her voice is absolutely gorgeous
These were the good old days music and dancing (pure talent). I loved Cher's show and never missed it

They have a soulful voice!

Cher definitely held her own!!! This is my first time seeing this and I didn't know she could dance like that!!! 👏👏👏👏👏..
Cher was one of the most talented performers of the 70s. Her weekly show with her husband sonny was brilliant. Lots of clips on here
She's so phenomenal. 😊❤
Right!
There should be a very best of Cher video release of all the dozens and dozens of rarities not seen in years.
Neither did I. She killed that robot!
Cher's phrasing in "I'll be there" is absolutely brilliant. She sang, danced and acted up a storm in her show week-in, week-out for years - such a talent.
You really think her voice sounds good?
@@ari1835
Have you ever heard "Half-Breed"? That's her voice, and yes, l like it.
What an entertaining video. I remember watching this when it came out. And, I like all of the wonderful things that Cher said about Michael Jackson right after his passing. You can tell that she had a genuine love for him and his siblings.
@@chrystal0411
I wouldn't believe everything you hear. And is the way Cher "takes his hand" at 1:16 the first public "Outing" of Prince Michael?
@@ari1835I do. There are many good singing voices that start to all sound similar. I like her voice. I think it sounds good, and it’s very distinctive.

Chers voice is surprisingly slightly deeper than Michaels but both of their vocal ranges are about the same

I have to be honest… This is probably one of the only performances where my eyes aren’t glued to Cher! Rest in love and light Michael🙏🏼🦋💖
You can see right at the 5:35 mark Cher is completely exhausted and fighting for air. She really gave it all she had on this one.

Jermaine was just as talented among his brothers. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
That dancing Micheal does later in this video is very close to a moonwalk. It's done so fast it's basically an optical illusion. You can see how his dancing style is so much more advanced Vs his brothers.
That is Michael's famous robot dance. He did not invent it but he popularized it.
