Great tips! Thank you I'm down 125lbs and thrift store has probably saved me $1000. Now that I'm getting close to goal I wish I had started lifting weights earlier in my journey.
I wish i would have taken pictures. I wish I would have strength trained cause i lost my butt as well. I’ve lost 65 pounds and have only recently brought clothes. Im lucky enough to wear scrubs.
From the start I wish I had known how to tell family I'm not hungry, I'm not going to eat and yes I'm ok. I've developed that muscle now but it took a while.
It’s often a difficult conversation. I’m surrounded by people where food is a cultural thing and it can be offensive if you don’t take what they are offering. Of course they just want to make sure you’re good and enjoying yourself, so they are persistent no matter times you say no.
@RoundMoundofZepbound right. Same culture same issues. I learned to fix my plate, act like I'm eating and then take it to go. Now loved ones give me two plates right from the start. An eat now plate and a to go box. They sure do love on us and we have to find a way to let them
I know men and women are different, but I haven’t encountered very many people who say they were lifting weights before starting the meds. Do you think your DEXA scan results were better for that reason? I am hoping this holds true for me since I have been lifting weights for decades and I started my journey with a lot of lean body mass. I am also losing very, very slowly. I hope these two factors will work in my favor when it comes to muscle loss. BTW, I know another content creator who says “Wegovy took my booty.” LOL.
I definitely wasn’t lifting when I started. It had been at least 4 years since I last did some lifting. However, I had a significant amount of muscle from years of lifting in my athletic days. That helped me with my loss and metabolism once the medication regulated the metabolic dysfunction. For me, I started the journey tracking what percentage of my weight loss was muscle and how much was fat. This was as a way to confirm I was getting the right amount of protein in and doing the right amount of lifting. I wanted to ensure I avoided the fear-mongering that was going around at the time about GLP1s and muscle loss. So when I found out the scale was so divergent, I had to toss all of that data. Thankfully the DEXA scan confirmed that everything was okay with my muscle mass. Another thing the DEXA does is highlight what areas of the body need to be focused on.

Great job on the 125! 👏🏽👏🏽
I definitely wish I had gone the thrift store route. I did stretch sizes out as long as I could though.
