  • AI changes something, you are struggling. Chances are it may have made a small role change. that has big effects. On this show, I take 4 games from a livestream, explain how I use OIs and then apply them in the simplest way possible to shut down the opposition.
    We just did the same on another stream - Bring Your Tactics stream where I play as Aston Villa, using your tactics. Again, the use of OIs and a small tweak here and there have seen us reach the final of the Carabao Cup.
    This might be the most important hour you spend and I guarantee no regrets.

    Watched the whole video last night and played five games on my own save. This has changed everything, my performances have massively improved. I was doing some of this myself, but biggest mistake I was making was tight marking wingers and showing them wide all the time as I thought it was safer. Changing the foot based on the role and hard tackling has been a game changer. Thank you.

      @@falkonguyen1744 interesting. I thought that the overlap instruction just affected what passes the players tend to look for, not so much the actual positioning and runs, which are decided by roles and player instructions. Happy to be corrected.

    Thanks Rashidi, I watch it over and over again. In the YAC I am fighting relegation (400:1) before OI we collected 4 points from July to November, since tinkering with OI from December until finish in March/ April we collected 30 points. That‘s the difference. Would like to see you on a Youth Academy Challenge in England. Thanks and keep up the good work.

    Thanks for the video. I also avoid using tight marking against false 9 because it tends to drag my players from the box and leave gaps in defensive structure.

Also it was quite funny to see in the first stream that i put a few comments on that stream when it was live as i watched you on twitch that day. Thanks for putting the video out there. OI's are so important in FM24, they can make or break you and you can be 2 nil up like i was yesterday, then i went out to make a coffee and lost 3-2. Rookie mistake by me, leaving the match running without watching what the AI was doing and what they changed.

    I remember you talking about this a while ago and I started using them. But I'm lazy and use the same style every game. My style of play is trap outside so defence is compact and close together, show all wide players to the touchline and trigger press, and hard tackle all central players except strikers. I think I'll try show onto weaker foot for central defenders. Thanks for the great videos, I've learnt a lot.

    Very helpful. I read the AI does adjusting mid match. But didnt expect it to be so impactful, that you constantly have to keep track of it. Holy......
    Eintracht Frankfurt! Cool team btw. They had a devastating transfer window this year. Lost almost their entire offense (Kolo Muani (absolute last minute, so no replacement), Kamada, Lindström), had to play half a season without a real striker. Well... Marmoush kinda filled in surprisingly well.
    I see you grabbed Hugo Larsson from them.... ;D should become a star in the near future.

    • @BusttheNet

  • @vish3510

    Great vid as always! Few questions though. Surely off the ball is a factor for tight marking too right? Given if there stand still play, tight marking someone whos very good off the ball will be harder to counter where as someone whos fairly poor moving off the ball is easier to tight mark?
    Other question is when is it best to "always press"? I used to always press the playmaker in teams simply to reduce the effect they have on the game or the CAM as they are usually the important player to make things happen, is this still the case in certain games/situations? or is best to keep it simple against CB's who are prone to making mistakes where you can punish them the odd few times?

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  5 місяців тому +3

      U don’t want to overcomplicate it. Off the ball just tells him where to be, physical attributes are those that allow him to beat someone next to him not off the ball.
      If you always press players with good balance and agility you are given them space. Playmakers are best handled by shutting them off as passing options. Hard tackle them to force them to pass quickly.
      Or identify players close to them and show them away from the playmaker. During one of the games I removed one playmaker as a passing outlet and he had a very bad performance because he hardly saw the ball.

  • @wantedzera8058
    @wantedzera8058 3 місяці тому

    Perfect Video. Another two questions. The first is what’s the diference between a roaming playmaker and a DLP in defense? And the second is why do you hard tackle fast players? to me it doesn't make sense, because theoretically the fastest players will have the ability to get out of the hard tackle because of their speed

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  3 місяці тому +1

      Players with fast acceleration and agility can turn a player, so you can't tight mark them at all. You literally need to hold them by grabbing their shirts. Fast players get a head of steam early when they receive the ball. So the best plan usually is to show them wide and then hard tackle them. Not theory, its just what players do in real life. Players like Maradona and Messi are prime examples of players who have been hard tackled, cos no amount of tight marking works on them.

    Is there a way to know the roles of my opposition's players before a match? I know that they appear after the match begins but in my save the meta for the AI is a 424 with one inverted wingback and I wanted to counter it from the beginning. Sorry if the question might sound stupid, but I had to ask.

    Something that has been bugging me more recently, hoping you will be able to clarify. When setting up the OIs initially, I would set them only ever on the Positional Tab. Once set, my understanding was that these would automatically be set / applied in game (I like to set these based on my formation, and not make any changes to specific individuals).
    However from watching videos, it seems a lot of users tend to then highlight all players on the Players OI screen, and then activate them under the OIs column.
    My question is if you setup the OIs on the positional screen, and do not touch anything at all on the Player OI tab screen, will the OIs I setup on the positional tab still work / be active in game?
    Or do I actually need to manually activate them in the Player OI tab screen to work? (Meaning if I didn't do this, the OIs would not work at all that I had setup on the Positional Tab)
    Cheers!

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  5 місяців тому

      Highlighting all players isn’t a good thing cos it just means more than one player may bounce on an opp player. What if that player has good balance turns the challenge, then you have created space for the pass.
      If you just use the positional settings it sticks for every game. If you target specific players on top of that then you are selecting the player and anyone playing in the position.

      @@BusttheNet Thanks, hoped this was the case - have to admit I'm a little on the lazier side too.
      So I like to pick certain positions / and make traps I think can work well with the actual formation and roles I'm playing, and also the way I like to try hit and teams on the break. (So I tend to have a method in the offensive third and also one in the defensive third in how I generally like to defend. It's hard to achieve this only using TIs)
      But yes, there will be the odd situations I guess where I will be more susceptible without that extra attention to detail.

  • @tomi5492

    Please Daljit, who do we not hard tackle, because my understanding was to use the hard tackling on players with low bravery and maybe concerntration.
    Also , do you think using hardtackling on players who can dribble and have agility and balance as well as acceleration/pace would lead to fouls / freekicks given in dangerous areas ??.

    • @BusttheNet
      @BusttheNet  5 місяців тому +2

      Hard tackling ALL wingers and strikers irrespective of bravery if their acceleration balance jumping reach is equal to or better than your backline. If it’s a winger compare him to your fullback. OI hard tackling with a player who has a competitive streak should be avoided
