I couldn't agree more with the sandbox mode. As a brand new player trying to figure out roles I was looking for an in game feature to simulate plays & tactics.....but sadly there was none. Thank you so much for your youtubes my friend they are always extremely helpful :)
I studied A. Madrid positioning during their games and pointed out they are weak on the flanks with their 532. I won 2-0 in their stadium with Granada 😍🔥
Wow, I forget that before all my stuff you were my expert on all things FM tactics.
Love the little comment about needing aerially proficient defenders to play a Low block. If anyone wants a real life example of a team that often plays a low block and actually wins lots games. Look no further than Newcastle last season.
Brentford are another team who also took great advantage of set pieces.
My tips for playing a low block are
1) sign good aerial defenders and or midfielders
2) take advantage of corners/freekicks and if you can play wingers or wingbacks to force these situations
3) Make sure you have a good set piece taker
4) Fast strikers who preferably are also good aerially
5) Play direct, and try to have attack/defend duties and less support (link play) duties.
The last one is to get you behind teams playing high defensive lines. If a team isn’t playing a high line then simply focus play down the flanks. Once again forcing corners, free kicks and even throw ins with your wingers/wingbacks
If you look at the current data, more and more clubs are signing players that are tall with jumping reach. It's a trend.

Sandbox mode is such a damn good idea. All it needs to be, is a tactics screen where you can do all the things you normally would. Save, import/export, change presets, etc. Then, you could load up a match between teams of generic players with varying levels of ability to see how it all plays out.
So for example... a custom tactic designed as a low block system played by a weak(ish) team, going up against a preset like control possession, played by a much more skilled team.
That would be amazing.
But I think the developers would be concerned that people would find exploits too easily with this type of thing.

I found myself moving to a mid block, with a high defensive line and it really helped my 433. It lets my fast wingers and striker get out and RUN at the backline
Thanks for the video Daljit. When ever I was doing well with a team and needing to attack more I was getting caught I transition with no rest defence usually conceding. Now thanks to your help I know how to attack smarter with using different approaches.
what do you do please that the players are this big in 2D mode? Can't replicate that at all

Just save the game before the match, try out the tactic, if it works, great, if not Alt F4 at the final whistle and try again

Para o jogo mais direto ter algum sucesso e não ficar apenas entregando a bola para o adversário, seria interessante ter um ataque com muita presença física, área e cabeceamento? Pra disputar essa bola com os marcadores e ganhar a disputa no rebote em áreas mais próximas ao gol adversário?

Positional play but in FM terms 😂
I normally play FM with a low block slightly direct cautious narrow flat 4-3-3 solid structure. But my board and fans wanted me to play direct (by which they meant VERY direct) and annoyingly asked for "defensively solid" football as well. So I alternated to a 4-3-3 DM wide.
It still did not seem to be direct or solid enough for the fans/board. I then tried to set up a 4-4-2 with a target man and destroyers in the middle etc.
But I went from winning the league with Galway United the season before, to very nearly getting sacked. I found going very direct it was impossible to get control of the game, and I faced a lot of shots. It did not help that my goalkeeper was error prone.
I have now reverted by to my cautious flat 4-3-3 low block and dropped that keeper. Much more successful.
If you play against a team with 2 forwards then you should be playing 3 at the back so you have a spare defender in build up and defence
Or you can still play with 2 defenders and a DM, both AFs don't attack at the same time

You cannot play a 4-2-4 with two identical half backs and no midfield players. You exploit the match engine that way. It’s like a striker less tactic. The match engine gets fooled because it acts like you have a midfield.
