I see people complaining about dual protagonists... It was literally stated in the ending of CONTROL, that that game and characters were entirely written by Wake himself, as a means to get an FBI agent out there to set him free... I wouldn't doubt that we see the main charachter from CONTROL show up, for like an epic action setpiece like the firework rock concert from the 1st one...
The people complaining about this minimal things probably dont know the game story or didnt even like the original, they just want to put the game down. Yeah im playing control for the first time. It doesn't have amazing combat. None of the remedy games do. Control is much better than aw1 though. But aw2 looks way better overall than control. Gonna play that after control.
I hate horror games, but something about this compels me to play. Control was such an excellent game, and if it will tie into the story for Control 2, then I will play it. I'll probably hate myself for it, but I'll still give it a shot.
It's not a horror game, trust me.. It has jump scares that's it. The first game was scarier. Because enemies would spawn literally out of nowhere in the Dark and the atmosphere was better. The second one feels more like a shooter. The first is an adventure/horror
If you are an offline gamer in the year 2023, you are already shit out of luck, as most of the games released nowadays are almost completely unplayable without at least the day 1 patch (and in many cases some 5 to 10 patches on the top of that, if not more).
Can you even play current day games offline? Pretty sure disk today aren't able to store all the games assets, shaders and models, much less its engine.
@@chriswihulu Yeah, in some cases there is only a download key for the digital version. But I guess most of the games might still have some full (day 0) version on the disc.
@@Str0b0 well, consider something like the original Baldur's Gate came with 5 disk's just to install roughly 2.5 GB of data. While the current blue Ray disks can hold much more data, it would still require several disks to be installed. I have an original Alan Wake 1 physical version on my Xbox 360 but still haven't played it yet, should I have to playit before october 27 when Alan Wake 2 coming? As a finnish from Finland, im super hyped and excited for Alan Wake 2 what is easily one of BIGGEST and most expensive games Finland's Remedy have been ever made. It's sad there's no a physical version because it's only a digital but the game looks amazing, world of dark New York looks beautiful and gameplay seems really nice. 🌍🌎🏞🌃🌉🎡🏚🌲🐦⬛🔫👮🏾♀️🔦📖🧔🏻♀️
Not a fan of digital only but a fan of remedy. I got a $100 gift card 20% off at Walmart and do the MS rewards so that’s my reasoning bc I’m not missing out on Alan Wake 2
First Alan Wake is waaaay way better. And no its not because 50% of story you play as black female, but aw1 has more interesting episodes and better combat and horror is pretty much the same... i got equaly scared. I just hated walking simulatior with almost no combat
also walking around didnt give me any paranoia... this game wasnt even that scary except few of 2 sec screaming faces that appear in the middle of the game. Also we had to walk around through the same paths so it was nothing new and New York city part where u play as Wake it was pretty boring when we had to look for rooms just like in Silent Hill.. its like they were making Silent Hill game but failed. I dont know i am glad AW2 came out but it wasnt as good as how i thought it would be. I am replaying AW1 now to see if its just me getting older or AW2 is really not that good and i can say that i am still as hyped as i was when i first played AW1.
also you in AW1 you play the whole game as Alan Wake and thats what we wanted to play as Alan Wake because the game is about Alan Wake... Stop doing this woke games where you play as female characters because no one wants that... i payed to play Alan Wake and not Saga... If i wanted to play as a female i would buy Tomb Raider
Same thoughts here, I also replayed the first one to see if it was as good as I remembered and yes, the gameplay mechanics are a lot funnier than in AW2, I also found the storytelling more engaging. Alan Wake 2 feels like a generic game in comparison, imo
Hi there, I have just the opposite opinion. When I played AW1, I was told It was kind of SH2. I played It and I got really bored because It was only Focus on action. Just going forward shooting and swtiching lights on.No Keys for locked rooms, no puzzles, no Backtracking etc. There is only one thing I like from AW1, the story. On the other hand, I love AW2, basically because It has everything that I expected AW1 was going to have. I am playing It reached chapter 4 in both characters and I can't stop playing. I don't mind Saga, ok, It's true the story IS about Alan Wake, but having her I think It is something which sums. It reminds me of playing with Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Heather Mason, Aya Brea... However, I can understand that if people really loved AW1, they might not like AW2 and the other way round as I think each Game belongs to a different genre.
Hopefully, living his best life, listening to Old Guards of Asgard and having fun. I really hope that precious cinnamon bun is left untouched by the dark and the light, cause we've seen what that does to people...
It seems more interesting in this game than on those ones (imo), with both Alan and Saga having their own, but somewhat similar story mechanics (the mind place and the writer's room).
