Definitely not trolling. Very applicable to arm wrestling. Works on increasing max isometric strength on your pronator and riser which is what allows you to hold people in the center and put the breaks on. It's probably the most applicable lift to arm wrestling of all the lifts people do
I don’t think the heels coming up makes the lift invalid because you’re still lifting the weight and locking out your arm. As long as you keep the forearm parallel to the ground and you lift it it counts.
IMO Devon is half serious and half trolling. Which is the best way to deceive people. It is actually a pronation lift, Devon does great on this lift with perfect form and he has a very strong pronation on the table. Everything seems to add up. BUT there is more behind it. One thing that isn't hidden : stem cells. Since he takes stem cells, his arms are in better shape and he can finally train heavy again + he has a high IQ table so the supermatch format is made for him. But there is maybe hidden stuff we don't know..
I have been training for arm wrestling 1 year+, coming from 15 years of powerlifting, weightlifting and have had 0 tangible results, I have been doing the 3 larrat lifts for 4 months and at the table I have had a colossal increase. My arm has changed radically. this workout builds your strength and tells you how to use it.
Its basically CNS (central nervous system) training. Powerlifters do super heavy singles, sometimes in a reduced range of motion, because it trains the muscle to recruit more muscle fibers. It's a great way to maximize one's strength. Just don't overdo it. It works well as a finishing exercise after a volume workout.
People are focusing a lot on the forearm angle but that isnt what makes a big difference to the pronator stress, its the strap placement. Ypur strap is going over your wrist below the bone, rather than straight down the side of.the hand. That makes a huge difference.
This lift is pretty darn hard when done the way it's intended. People have already mentioned where the strap/belt should be and not suppose to use legs/back/calves at all and arm parallel to the floor.
100 percent a extremely useful lift. Use your awareness when your on the table and in the gym you can tell the pressures feel almost identical to eachother. Devon might be a troll for fun sometimes but hes not trying to teach everyone an improper lift thats gonna get themsleves hurt. Just start doing the lifts yourself properly and you'll see a difference in your performance.
The only thing I can think of that this type of training actually translates to the table is hit control. If your able to handle heavy weight with this arm position and everything tucked like he shows, it simulates defensive reaction to hard hits and drives.
By using your legs/feet, you’re effectively making it an isometric and eccentric lift, of which everyone is around 20% stronger. Plus, the angle it’s maximally lifted at here is more open than Devon’s and the way it’s ‘supposed’ to be lifted. Either way, you guys know that, are mega strong, and this was entertaining nonetheless!
The reason their arms don’t go 90 degrees is because of that weight pin is to high, notice Devon’s belt is just tied around the weights themselves. MMT has the weights on that pin in the middle which is not letting his arm go 90 degrees
man he is doing this lift for ever, just now became famous, and it does translate more for mmt than corey, but still pronation is always important, and all devons lifts are just minimal btw, and not to be picky but corey is putting the strap on the arm and that helps alot
Good evening my friend hope all is well and I started doing these lifts about 7 weeks ago and everyone at the club tell me I’m getting stronger to keep doing what I’m doing and now I got them doing it but you have to do it 90 degrees and more parallel to the floor and it will be way harder than the way you and Corey are doing at Michael I promise
Devons frame is a fulcrum for isolated lifts such as that in particular. It makes it extra difficult for the average person. He will always be stronger in those types of angles
Cory is doing it wrong. Hand not parallel to the ground. Strap coming on the back of the hand instead of directly under the thump. He starts little pronated, and loses the pronation throughout the lift. There is no control while doing the lift. Michael is doing it all in all pretty good. Only thing is that the hand is not completely parallel to the ground but Devon himself is doing this.
UA-cam algorithm boosting comment 💪 ... ya, it's very difficult to use a single standard of form for everyone to use, so many tiny variations can make a difference too. MMT bicep holding u really well too!
It’s actually about where the strap comes over the hand/wrist. Coach Ray did a video on it. Bringing it over your thumb and laying the strap across the hand only, focuses the weight on the riser and pronator only.
Yes, from the clip it is impressive. But most still bend their wrists slightly to help absorb the force.
Agreed, strap has to be laying parallel to the knuckles or you take the wrist out of the lift a lot more
Exactly this. Corey started to put it back on his wrist toward the end. It's WAY different than over the knuckles only.
Devon pulls with it on his wrist when he's making max effort lifts too.

Devon is great at trolling, but I don't think he's trolling with those lifts. He's showed that kind of training lifts at some of his conferences.
another thing to note, Devon's lifts strengthen his style of armwrestling and he can make the most out of it.
Well, Voevoda must of taken that challenge serious because he just broke a dame world record recently with that lift. Shesh!
I saw a bunch of good lifts! Great job y'all.
Doesn't look like yall are pronating through it. Devon is lifting it with his thumb and turning it, isn't he?
Ofc u right. Nobody can beat Devon only Levan
Why did not you meet-up with Devon & Levan , Michael ?
My mother is very ill
@@MonsterMichaelToddoh sorry Michael, wish her a speedy recovery 🙏
Love you Michael Todd! Arkansas brother!
The thumb thing is definitely real too. My thumb meat has gotten noticeably different which makes a big difference with people under 185lbs
Nice work, you gizis allsum!!!
That’s it buy a case of mouth pieces😆it give you a pound increase!! Ha I’m not for sure but we did see Monster Todd do it.👏🏽👏🏽💯
The only thing I can think of that this type of training actually translates to the table is hit control. If your able to handle heavy weight with this arm position and everything tucked like he shows, it simulates defensive reaction to hard hits and drives.
This lift makes power.
Going for a PR with a static lift like this is a great way to tear your bicep again.
From a mechanical standpoint. Isometric exercises are shown to be one of the most effective exercises in growing peak strength. So it make sense
Devon''s not trolling. But I love seeing Rebecca smile and laugh at you guys about it.
Good lifts gents… strong af!! Corey left is wild 💀😈
Let’s don’t forget about the DOCTOR he did an amazing job on ur arm you look amazing monster Todd 😊
I think the stim cells is a big key to what's helping him also.
Yes!
Devon got you hook, line and sinker!!!
Devons frame is a fulcrum for isolated lifts such as that in particular. It makes it extra difficult for the average person. He will always be stronger in those types of angles
Great video!! Did either of them have soreness the next day? Thats always a sign that its working?
Cory is doing it wrong. Hand not parallel to the ground. Strap coming on the back of the hand instead of directly under the thump. He starts little pronated, and loses the pronation throughout the lift. There is no control while doing the lift.
Michael is doing it all in all pretty good. Only thing is that the hand is not completely parallel to the ground but Devon himself is doing this.
It 100% translates...you have to have the strap positioned properly though.
UA-cam algorithm boosting comment 💪
... ya, it's very difficult to use a single standard of form for everyone to use, so many tiny variations can make a difference too. MMT bicep holding u really well too!
This exercise does put a lot of stress on the pronation makes a huge impact on the strength of the wrist.
