During his stay in Louisiana, Devon took the time to show super strong up and comer Robbie Karstendiek all of his current training methods and why he does them. More do’s and don’ts he’s learned throughout the years. Always useful information to pick up whether you’re new or seasoned in the sport. - Спорт
This is gold! So glad you were there to capture all this!
❤️🙏🤜🤛 I couldn't miss this part.
I see Devon Larratt. I click. Simple.
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Word.
Same here.
Yes. We are simple creatures
Same
Yes lol
Devon is always apologizing for how "simple" his lessons are but idk if he realizes how rare it is to have someone be able to condense their wisdom into incredibly simple and effective techniques...this man is giving out free masterclasses on the daily, what a fucking legend.
Excellently, kingly stated! He gives all of us the keys to the kingdom , for free!
Is the most important person in arm wrestling history?
I fear not the man who practiced 10,000 pronations, once but I fear the man who practiced one pronation 10,000 times.
Amen so be it
Ugandan Bruce Lee they call him bruce u he does not need wings to fly
Bluce Rhee!

Devon is technically and psychologically so advance that just listening to him talking about arm wrestling is amazing. He has everything simplified but spot on.
I agree I was thinking the same
Rubbish. He only has king's move. He's done nothing impressive for so long now. Cheat bleeding just proves that he has nothing else. Simple.
@@POLITICALYCORRECTify now here you are correct that on the table he has started to going under the table for some time.
@@POLITICALYCORRECTify how many times have you won
@@POLITICALYCORRECTifyonly recently. See his matches from 1999 to 2016. All are him either overpowering opponents or beating them with sheer endurance and techniques
"PR should be in competition." This is very insightful. Great for avoiding injury
that comes with combat sports but not barbell (deadlift as the possible exception). also dude has plenty of injuries, as we all do
@@ftargrno. Its the same in powerlifing. Ed Coan basically never trained to failure. Failure was only in competition.
Its also quite prevalent in Boris Sheikos powerlifing foundations book. Same with powerlifitng coaches i hired. Hypertrophy phases, peaking phasesd then max lift(competition if your into that).
Literally the one punch man of arm wrestling 😂 he explains his secret workout and everyone is like “no way”😂
Except he's the weakest heavyweight lol loses off centre to EVERYONE SO HIS TRAINING IS SHIT. MAX CURL 75KG IVE DONE THAT FFS.
fr
except his method is real and not a movie
This method doesn’t work for most people
@@Lestergreen77 Por que? Yo noto resultados
It’s so simple but took Devon 35 years to get to. Great information
As an obsessive athlete. Someone utterly obsessed with performance, I have the most respect for this guys mindset. He is absolutely fixated on his craft and he devotes himself fully to pushing those limits. It’s a deep rabbit hole but geez, the details are enthralling and adventurous. Shoutout to anyone traveling the path of self mastery. Keep doing your best.
Seeing devon in 2160p is outstanding, thanks for this good stuff
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Yeah buddy! 4K all the things.
Imagine not being subbed to two One Se7en, dude is bringing us literal gold for free
facts
❤️🙏🤜🤛 My dude.
❤️🙏🤜🤛
1000%
Im not subbed
I have a competitive powerlifting background (VERY loosely stated, and I’m NO champion) , but my specialty was the bench. For me, watching Bill Kazmaier go over the details and finer points for benching was like GOLD. And I can see this in the same way. Every little thing Devon is pointing out seems to be necessary keys to arm wrestling. Thanks for putting this up. It’s awesome vid. (1000 likes from me)
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thank you so much! I appreciate it!
There are many approaches to armwrestling training. Devon's method is one of the many. It is what fits him the most. When he was younger like someone mentioned, he did a lot of heavy classic armwrestling lifts. But with injuries and with his age, this seems to work best for him. A lot of useful information here though. Very very different from Eastern school of armwrestling training. I would definitely recommend total body strength training and this for armwrestling specfic training.. in addition to table time of course to practice against actual human opponents.
I would consider the eastern school as the best ( fits the most), devons training style is not possible for most people ( time AND revovery), questionable if its a good method even for him.
@@leonbremer4216 Yeah I was thinking along the same lines too. The Eastern school of AW training probably is the way to go for most people. However these micro movements that Devon does... it definitely has its place among the many methods of AW training. Probably best suited for guys having similar build and issues like Devon's.
He would be much stronger on the table if he invested in fundamental lifts.
@@lombardy3274 i believe so
i love how a world class puller and perhaps the second strongest arms in the world can give half an hour of advice and in the comment section some no name picks it apart as if hes shared in even a single percentage point of success in the same way devon has.
JUST STFU FOR GODS SAKE MAN.
Dude is super simple, you cannot get more simple than this.
People always want to complicate things, and do more and work harder (even if it is not required to).
Devon is a old dude but he has a point that he be getting from all these years of his ups and downs of his career.
Exactly!

Wonderful to watch people share their craft when they've mastered an art - thank you Devon.
I have watched more than 200 videos of devon teaching people technique and every time i learn something new real goat💪🏼
Thats actually very good to hear. I was honestly worried that people weren't going to get anything from this, because I know this isn't the first time Devon has shown his training regiments.
@@TwoOneSe7en i appreciate it brother
This mentality is actually applicable to almost all sports. I get in these ruts with cycling where I'm always trying bang out more watts for longer periods of time, almost to or at failure. I start to dread it, honestly, then I don't ride nearly as much. Bring the intensity down, should be something you look forward to, it's about the consistency. Damn good advice Devon, damn good 👍
Amazing, the crossover wisdom here. Human body is an incredible living machine, so cool how such truths are relevant across time and endeavor
Someone get Devon some shoe's. He's got them Jesus slides. 😂 Man, just one of the many reasons we love him! Y'all aren't far down the road from me, pretty sure some of my fellow Mississippi Boys are there.
Jerusalem Cruisers or Moses Mashers 😆
He's gold, I love him for his simplicity.

Nothing wrong with some slides xdd. I myself wear pink crocs sometimes even if it is winter time :DD
Well, he's basically AW Jesus, spreading the "message" of AW all around the world.
This is gold...these strength techniques are relevant across the board
It's very inspiration to hear mr.devon sharing this gold tips. Very motivated
Pure gold here! cheers man
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks Julio!
THANK YOU DEVON I LOVE THE LIFTS I LEARNED FROM YOU TODAY.
Pure wisdom from a real deal master of his craft
What a cool dude , someone who can pour endless knowledge into you . I love this man
Devon you a Legend as a Armwrestler, i love how you show the World that even if you 50+ its possible to work on yourself and still getting progress. You a great Coach, how calm you explain in simple way.Keep pushin, keep workin, keep movin.
super helpful- thanks!
Awesome stuff! Thank you for sharing this gold!!

Fantastic, simple, effective.

Amazing info by Devon really amazing easy going stuff that really works
Robbie your the man bro keep up the great work
Devon's hands are wonders of our age. His strength and technical ability are out of this world
Thats really informative devon is so teachniqal 💪❤
Transmission of knowledge through the eras.
This, is the way.
this is gold! Thanks for this post
Glad you enjoyed it!🫡
I just knew this was going to be mint before I even clicked on it! Awesome man! Devon is the man, seems like such a great dude. EvW or KOTT need to get you on board to produce some sick match videos like you do.
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thank you. But I'm pretty sure neither production will allow me to come in and do my own thing. They want to keep it "in-house". I get it. Business decisions. Oh well.
Man... I fuckin love this guy... everything devon says is right on point. I love how he talks about being excited to lift when he gets up in the morning... I'm the same way.
Devons training is so smart. My gains are coming alot quicker now that I'm doing lots of lifts throughout the day as opposed to just burning myself out in one workout
Well, that's probably why prople back then had morr muscle mass than average people today - they did heavy labour throughout the day. Perhaps it works
@@drunklorry3406 yes sir 100% I was in my best shape when doing hard labor all day
Yes!! PURE strength lifting, training the nervous system💪🏽🤘🏼🙏🏼sooooo glad to hear Devon explain this correctly....Fn' game changer✨🖤🥷🔱
Yeah, the Russians call this training method "greasing the groove," as in strengthening the neural pathways to the muscles.
@@StephenDoty84 I’m gonna look this up thank you for posting a meaningful comment and sharing your know
I'm SO impressed by Devon..
same here when i used to do any sports wasnt warming up for any of it i just jumped right to it n just do it. never had any injuries bcus i trust that much of my body that i know what’s best for it.
Great advices, I ll definitely try those exercises
Ty brother .. alot if knowledge in this video!!.. loving the shirt !! I been looking into vitacell.. I'm in Louisiana 🧘♂️🙏
very straight explanation from the goat 🔥🔥
Sounds like a pure strength training approach. Very nice that's why he is getting strong.
This guy is something else, awesome.
Dude is just a genius when it comes to this sport
Damn. Devon's technical knowledge on the sport is the best around.
The Warrior Monk, Devon Larratt. I'm luck to have been able to pull him.
Wealth and happiness, everyone. Keep getting stronger.
I love how humble and helpful to all Devon is. That’s legendary. 🙏🏽
He is the GOAT imo. He has brought so many fans to Arm wrestling
The word the Goat is looking for is consistency, that is what he is essentially saying. What a legend.
He Said it at 2.30
Larratt GOAT ?!?
Good joke man, thanks for the laugh.
This cheating fraud isn't even top 3 all time, let alone GOAT.
He lacks the achievements, he has never won a Nemiroff in his life, and got his ass handed to him 6-0 by the top 2 dogs he faced.
Top 5 all time:
1. The GOAT Brzenk
2 to 5 (in no order): Saginashvily, Cyplenkov, Voevoda, Bagent.

Great workout interview you should do this with more top guys this is golden content 💪🏼🔥
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks Levi. This was very off the cuff too. Devon started talking to Robbie and I grabbed the camera. I'd love to do this in a more refined manner yet.
Devon is the GOAT. All this youtube content of him teaching us how to train.
This was practically a master class in being awesome..
Sounds like Devon has been listening to or reading Tsatsouline and "greasing the groove".... Good stuff, and it works. I'd be interested to see what Dan John's would say about armwrestling training.
Legend
He’s “greasing the groove “
You have no ideas that, how many times I watched this video. Thank u so much brother ❤️👍💪🎃
❤️🙏🤜🤛 you’re welcome! Keep watching!! Haha
Thanks!
YOOO!!! Thank you!! ❤️🙏🤜🤛
I love how with the multispinner Devon doesn't try and promote Armbet but just softly mentions that you can either order or make it, totally up to you. He has videos as well on his channel where he describes how to make one. I ordered one today just because I wanna support Devon and the sport but making one is stupidly simple!
Thanks awsome teacher
I've learned a lot from this man, although I have nothing to do with arm wrestling. Thank you for sharing that video.
I understand the idea of Devon not fan of warming up because he's used to be in army and soldiers don't warm up when enemy show up, they are ready to fight anytime and you're enemy won't wait for you finishing warm ups.
Very nice information
Just a note to everyone watching, only Devon can train like Devon he's been armwrestling for more than 20 years, what's good for him doesn't mean it's good for everyone
Says you.
It's pure strength training. Singles doubles and triples are great for building strength like he is.
Devon is a great mentor.
10:02 Best advice you’ll ever hear about that pronation lift. Improves your results big time.
This info was excellent thx
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks for watching!
i mean i dont train armwrestling and have no idea about it but you just know from intuition that devon is an expert because he breaks so simple concept into so complicated and well thought process, its like reading ancient philosophers or something similar
Great video man 👌
Appreciate it!
Very good video. 217 always killing it
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks man!
Love the way he theorizes
I would love to interview Devon. He is the master of the arm wrestling game both physically and intellecutally. He is untouchable.
Beautiful 👌🏻
Such a good vid bro
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks!
Tell u what man, all of his workouts are super successful. I’ve been doing them for 11 months now. I’m starting to get so much stronger.
Very humble guy. Very hesitant to enforce his way of thinking and training.
I think his "warm up" or lack there of makes perfect sense.
I always find Devon's methods incredibly interesting. I wonder though, it seems that this style would be great if you are already a great, strong, arm wrestler. To build yourself up to be a strong arm wrestler you need a lot more, right? Or perhaps it's the Brzenk method, which Devon seems to have adopted: arm wrestle to be good at arm wrestling. So this would just compliment your actual workout which is done at constant practices. I'd love to see some in-depth discussions between Devon and other pros about this method of training.
I dont know how much experience you have, like you might be 10 years into armwrestling already, so it would be like telling my dad how to fuck right, but in case you are not, with my couple years experience I would say that if you have weekly practise there is not really much more you can realistically even do. Recovering fully from a heavy table time takes more than a week, so if you can manage to compliment that with this youre already doing "professional" levels of work. Just my opinion.
Right. It's hard to say. Some strength is pretty easy to build with regular gym lifts before you do the specialized stuff.
If you could lift 200+lbs on these two lifts there would be few people in the world that could beat you arm wrestling.
Great content
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks Dan!!
Devon is a beast!
This man is a beast
The fact that this man was an elite operator and arm wrestling champion is wild.
thanks
Awesome
Nice. Thanks.
If there's any definition of technique in armwrestling it's Devon Laratt.
Devon gibt immer sein Wissen weiter, sehr ehrenwert!

Absolutely amazing content devon and them sandals ...lmao 🤣 totally a dad ! Love it 👍
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks Josh! And LOL
Devon is the best ❤
The word I am waiting for is "a habit". You need to make it your habit, and your body will adjust over time to it, and that adjustment will be your advantage.
Devon's absolute love of the game is nonpareil. He even offers to help train his opponents he defeats (Ermes), but out of love, not ego.
Great stuff!! Nice to watch 😎
❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thanks my friend!

Proof that tendons are where it's at. Simplicity and patience. Your body will adapt.

❤️🙏🤜🤛 Thank you my friend. We'll see what happens.
If you're a beginner, then do full range of motion, in a wide variety of exercises, as much as possible. Devon is the elite of the elite, and he knows what works for him. You'll need to find what works for you.
No. I’d trust Devon over some guy any day brah. These work for beginners too learn about loading and periodization as a beginner and you’ll have no problem picking it up I do it rn and I haven’t worked out at all I’m just having fun hitting these singles and I’m watching my strength grow and it two pounds a day ( so far) with my dynamometer
He said he’s all in on AW… this is the “icebreaker” (for AW)… this is not how to get six pack abs (for instance)
