I just got the Benyar version yesterday. Can't find any fault with it. It's as beautiful as others and functioning perfectly as it should! The lum is also very bright and strong. Just my personal opinion.
The Benyar is clearly inferior. Mostly because of the movement and crystal. Microadjustment of the bracelet is also a big deal. That said, I love the Benyar. The value is great. I have a few Benyars and I love them all. Best value out there.

I’ve had the Benyar for several months now. It keeps brilliant time and is a great addition to my 30 watch collection. Changed the strap for a grey leather strap and it looks great and is very comfortable to wear. All in all a great every day watch which looks great.
Pagani is what I'd pick. Sapphire at this low price? Amazing. That, alone, is most impressive. I'm a watch newb but I've seen over 100 watch reviews from all kinds of people, and I've seen $150 to $200 watches with NO sapphire. Wow.
Thank you for your very concise yet complete comparison. I have been looking and considering the Daytona homage Pagani 1644 and you have shown that it does have many strong points to it. A real chronograph with the meca-quartz movement, the sapphire crystal, the definitely superior bracelet with its solid end links and a much nicer clasp mechanism. All in all, even at twice the price proposition I feel that the Pagani 1644 wins the day! I have just discovered your channel and because of the quality of presentation You have gained my subscription and a definite thumbs up. I'm new to the watch world. I currently own two casio watches. I am currently binge watching a lot of videos about watches and I'm amazed and overwhelmed by a lot of the cheap watches coming from China.

Pagani having the VK mecaquartz In it is why I got one. Also Pagani watches are pretty darn good especially for the price point. They are hard to beat.
Thank you for a great review. I have several Pagani Design watches and have considered the Benyar because of the lower price. I was not sure what quality the Benyar offered due to the lower price, and this review is very informative. As such, Shiny Things will be one site I consistently come to when considering watches. So which watch would I go with, for this style, because of the sweep of the second hand, and the screw down crown, I will be going with the Pagani Deisgn.
Is Pagani related to Benyar? I was looking at a PD1644 listing and was a bit surprised to see Benyar mentioned in the description of the product. I reckon a lot of these Chinese watches are related. Like you would see a particular watch design sold under different brands.
I am more of a collector than a hard user or even a diver, in other words if a watch looks very nice and i gotta have it in my collection I will buy it because I bare wear one watch at all times. In this case, I like 2 versions of the homage, one is with silver dial on the smaller dials, and black dials on the smaller dials, I can buy the Benyar for the price of 2 and add them to my collection.
I've had my pagani design watch for over a year now and it is a nice watch, I did however put it on a leather rally strap as I didn't like the finish of the bracelet with it's sharp edges on the clasp (a common complaint), my only complaint other than the bracelet is the large second hand which reset after I'd had it awhile to just before the 12 and with movement not letting you adjust the hands it's a little annoying (o,c,d), it is very accurate running at -1 seconds a month, the price out ways the complaints, would recommend

Looks like the Benyar case is plated base metal, vs the solid stainless steel of the Pagani. That is a massive step down in quality, and puts the Benyar out of the running as far as I'm concerned - it is a disposable fashion watch.

One is sapphire and has pushdown with Seiko and 100m. The price is the difference. I expect the more expensive one to have better materials. You could put diamonds in it and a Rolex movement and make it a 100K "dollar" watch. These watches are made at the same factory. Its about how much money you want ti spend. They should say "hours" instead of Tachometer on the bezel.
I think the Benyar is definitely worth the price, but I bought the Pagani version. I felt it was worth the extra money to get the better movement, the better crystal, the better water resistance, and the stainless steel case. Incidentally, did you know that BOTH watches are made by the same company? Benyar is actually Pagani Design's budget line.
Benyar and Pagani are both under the same parent company. Benyar is probably the best value and quality for a cosmetic jewelry fashion brand. But the Pagani Daytona Panda is a no-brainer. Can be had for just $45 USD, and the improvements are significant. I have one and it's outstanding! One of the best watch values available. Note, Pagani has released further refined versions of the Daytona in different colorways for more money.

The Pagani is so far ahead of the Banyar for the price. I understand that you buy what you can afford, but when the Pagani is so cheap when on offer, there's really not much between them price wise
Benyar got a bad rep by lying about case material. I Got my Phylida Rail Master Gen 2 Yesterday and Love it. Full Satin Finish NH35 Domed Sapphire, Female End Links fully articulating.
The tachymeter bezel on the Benyar does not make any sense, and the watch case is probably an alloy and not solid 316 steel as in the Pagani Design. But the most important flaw in the Benyar and the main reason it costs one half the price of the Pagani Design is its low-quality Chinese movement. I actually bought two different color versions of the Pagani Design Daytona and I don't regret it, I might even buy a third one!
I prefer the Pagani Date, but the Benyar Bracelet..lol.. but for the price I would probably get the Benyar, just purely because without my glasses and a cyclops I would have difficulty reading the date, as such the only thing that would then give priority would be the water resistance. I generally buy watches always with 100m or more water resistance, but this year as seen me buy 9 watches with 30m-50m water resistance just for general use and as beater watches.
I have 2 PD watches. A 2720k and 1644. They are both excellent value functional watches. I've my first Benyar watch (a 5140m) due tomorrow. They come from the same factory I read, and whilst the Benyar is a slightly lower end piece I still expect it to be good.
I don't understand why the lumination feature of any of these watches, Benyar, Pagani or even Lige is so bad. I had a cheap watch when I was a kid and I remember how it glowed in the dark by default. It was not a feature. Why they are having such dramas wit the illumination of dials at night I have no idea. Unless we were getting nuclear glow back in the 70's.
Psst let me spoil it for you.. because just about EVERYTHING it was made way better in the 70s-90s than it is today, believe it or not. Just look at cars for example.

Pagani ,It is a clumsy case, I also have it, clumsy model, the lume is a joke, and the stopwatch is also a joke, you can turn it on and off, nothing more, no time in between, so a stupid watch.
A friend of mine with a real Daytona was actually impressed with my Pagani. He did not ask how much I paid, and I chose not to ruin his day.

The Benyar is fantastic value for money, but the PD is an amazing spec monster for the price, and is still amazing value, more so than the Benyar.
Just spend the extra money and get the Pagani, it’s a real chronograph. It’s a terrific watch for the money.

I have the Pagani PD-1644 on the rubber strap rose gold. I have showed with it great watch. I had for. 3 months now.

That Benyar chronograph in Sweden costs about $240, and the Pagani $75

Absolutely. I can't see the point of a lume that you have to activate with a UV torch and which fades away in less than 20 minutes.

I think benyar doesn't use cheramic bazel
From a glance the big thing I noticed was the text on the bezel was almost not visible on the Benyar.
Looked like they are made by the same company !

The problem with these Daytona homages is the cheap and nasty black tachymeter bezel. For the love of god make a stainless steel bezel an option.
Put the Pagani on your wrist, put the Benyar in the trash.
