I bought the blue version of this watch 3 months ago, it is just an amazing looking beast, right now my fav watch in my collection. I put it on NATO in Summer and rubber strap in rainy season. Both blue straps, I don't use metal bracelets at all unless it is a event or something, for that I have a diff watch. I use the chronograph almost every day. Buy it on the rubber strap, solid beater.
I watched your video last week and thought nooo. So I bought it anyway. It arrived today and what a lovely watch. It looks great, feels good including the strap that feels premium. I ilike the weight which feels like a feather compared to most of my watches. The second hand lands bang on the markers as well. I bought the one with a leather strap a blue dial and gold hands. I'm pleased and its thanks to your video.
To reset the subdials if they don't reset properly (usually after a battery change), pull crown to position 2 (time setting), use the top pusher to reset the 1/10 counter. Press and hold for long movement or single push. Press the bottom pusher to reset the second counter. There is no way to reset the minute counter individually but it is directly engaged to the tachy small second hand therefore can be reset using the same bottom pusher. You just need to continue rotating the small second hand using the bottom pusher until the 60 minute counter hand is set to 0.

@@derekroyle9842 Thank you for watching Derek. I will be reviewing this Benyar Seamaster Chronograph soon. It is currently on its way from China. It looks excellent quality/value for only 22 Euro! Regards. www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001284714011.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.12ca4c4dvv7ZUp
Thank you for watching No1Viper. I think the Pagani Design/Bersigar Daytona homage are the best quality options as they also use the VK63. The only real negative is the bracelets; but on a rubber strap they look great. The 3022 is a nice looking piece; but the problem is poor quality control and build quality from Corgeut. Like many Chinese made watches it really is the luck of the draw whether one gets a good/bad one. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
Thank you for watching Ross. Glad you enjoyed it. Agreed it's a good watch for £35. I think the black dial/bezel option on the black rubber strap is the best version. Regards.
Thanks for the review. The subdial at 12 o'clock is a 1/10 second counter but Benyar did not print the dial properly. According to the Sunon website, the PE903 has a 1/10 counter but one full rotation of the small 1/10 hand = two seconds, not one second so the subdial should be printed to match. It appears your small subdial minute hand is not resetting. I don't like the small chrono second hand. Wish it used the large sweep hand so you can actually use the Tachymeter on the bezel like some of the other Sunon movements. To me this watch looks like a homage of a Tag Heuer Carrera, including the logo!

Thank you for watching Avro. Glad you enjoyed it. The movement used is the Sunon PE903 mecha-quartz. Also check out my Omega Speedmaster, and Pagani Design PD-1701 reviews, they may interest you. Regards, #WR4K
Great review, John, really enjoyed it. It certainly looks like Benyar have found a spot in the market which is just right for them... pretty good piece for very little money. Regards
Thank you for watching Mario. At the under £50 price point they cannot be beaten for mecha-quartz pieces. Benyar, Pagani Design, and Bersigar, are all made in the same Chinese factory. Check out the link below; I just bought a £38 Benyar Daytona homage (similar to the Bersigar one I recently reviewed). The Bersigar version is £100 as it uses the Seiko VK63; but the Benyar version is only £38 as it used the same Sunon PE093 as in this one. I think it's incredible value to get a sapphire crystal, and ceramic bezel; at £38. OK the bracelet is poor, and throwaway quality; with hollow end links and pressed clasp. But on a rubber or leather strap, it's a good watch. I have a Casio G-Shock DW-5600E review next week; but after that I am looking forward to reviewing the Benyar Daytona. I chose the silver dial one as I think it's the best looking option. Let me know what you think? Regards. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B088PFQZB4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I think it looks more like the Tag Heuer Carrera than the Speedmaster, personally. The Benyar logo looks like a Tag Heuer logo from a distance and the placement of the three sub dials are placed at N, W and S just like on the Carrera. They are at W, S and E on the Speedmaster. I am not sure about the tachymetre gradation on this bezel. It's one of very rarely used features on these watched anyway so they're there for fun.
Thank you for watching. Yes, it is is similar to the Carrera dial layout. Good point about the brand logo being similar too; something I hadn't considered. Perhaps the Tag Heuer logo was their inspiration. The case shape and lug profile is definitely copied from the Speedmaster. I suppose they rearranged the subdials at 12, 9, 6, to make it look less like a Speedmaster clone. Agreed, the tachymetre really is for aesthetics more than functionality. Regards.
My BY-5140 has a Langexin LD57 movement, not a Sunon PE903. I questioned if the LD57 is a rebranded PE903 but they look different in the pictures I've seen. It functions the same as the PE903. I really can't find any information online regarding this movement.
I am curious about the bezel being slightly off center. I realize this is a $35 watch, but for aesthetic reasons, I just wondered if the bezel is permanently fixed, and if so, has anyone come up with a way to center it up a little better? I have noticed it appears that way in this video, as well as others. Otherwise, this is a great little watch, and thank you for the review. Cheers!🙂
The bezel is stuck to the case with adhesive. This can be dissolved by soaking the watch face down in a bowl of acetone (nail polish remover). Then new adhesive can be used to set it correctly aligned. Regards, #WR4K
im planning to buy the swatch omega and this came up for reccomendation,is this better coz the swatch cost 10x more and its plastic, still planning to buy the yellow one but if im buying the blue it looks like this is much better
I’m curious why Benyar designs this watch with the chronograph on a sub dial, rather than using the large second hand, like the Speedmaster. Rather makes the tachymeter bezel difficult to use. Perhaps at this price point, that type of movement would be too expensive?
Thank you for watching Gary. Yes, its production cost cutting. The Sunon mecha-quartz used is a lower cost alternative to the popular Seiko VK63. The Seagull ST19 is another popular low cost choice for mechanical chronographs. Regards, #WR4K
How to Read a Fixed Tachymeter Bezel A tachymeter bezel is used to calculate speed or, in other words, measure elapsed time over a fixed distance. As daunting as the bezel looks, it’s incredibly easy-and surprisingly intuitive-to read a tachymeter scale rating. To use a tachymeter bezel, press the chronograph pusher to start the stopwatch. Once the object (for instance, a car driving one mile) passes the finish line, press the pusher again to stop the stopwatch. Then reference the tachymeter scale marker adjacent to the second hand; this figure tells you the speed of the car. So, if a car travels one mile in 40 seconds, the tachymeter scale reading will be 90 for a speed of 90 miles per hour. Calculating Slower Speeds The above example is a very straightforward way to measure speed. But, what if you’re measuring the speed of a runner? A tachymeter bezel can only be used to time an object traveling for less than 60 seconds. So, to determine a jogger’s speed, you’ll need to do some simple math. The tachymeter’s calculations rely on a fixed distance, so you’ll need a shorter distance that a runner can reach in under 60 seconds. In this example, we’ll use 200 meters as our fixed distance. Using your tachymeter as outlined above, you time the runner as traveling the 200 meters in 20 seconds. Your tachymeter will read that the runner was sprinting at an impossible 180 kilometers per hour. So, to get the actual speed, you have to do some simple calculations; knowing that 200 meters is 1/5th of a kilometer, you’ll divide 180 by 5 (since the runner traveled one-fifth of a kilometer) and your runner’s speed was 36 kilometers per hour. Calculating High Speeds On the flip side, what if you’re measuring the speed of a plane or racecar that will travel more than one mile in 60 seconds? In instances of an object traveling very quickly, you’ll need to extend the fixed distance (say from one mile to ten miles) for an accurate calculation. Let’s say a jet takes 30 seconds to fly 10 miles. Your tachymeter will indicate a speed of 120 miles per hour. But, because the fixed distance is actually 10 miles (or, differently said, 10 times further than one mile), you’ll multiple that tachymeter scale reading by 10 to calculate a speed of 1,200 miles per hour. Regards, #WR4K.
Another great review. Pity it's 42mm and not 40mm. Reckon it would be too big as I haven't got the thickest of wrist or do you think I could get away with it. Do you prefer the look of the blue or the black. Regards AB
Thank you for watching Andy. Glad you enjoyed it. This piece suits a 7-8" wrist. If you have a 6-7" wrist you will find it wears too large. I prefer the black version. A better option for a smaller wrist is the PD-1664 on rubber strap (see link below to my review). This is 40mm and fits a 6-7" wrist much better. Looking for a 40mm tachymeter reasonable priced watch. Any recommendations as 42mm or 44mm are just too big. Would have bought this one if it had been a 40mm.
Hi! i bougth that watch and i like it a lot. but did you realize that the numerals on the bezel are not white? ypur watch is just likemine and it took me 5 days to notice it. everytime i loooked at the watch i felt it needed something else... more luminosity. then i realized the lettering on bezel is goldish... not white as in the pictures. that makes a big difference. there are other videos with the same watch but they show white lettering on bezel. it is eye more eye catching. i am no satisfied . i will return it
Thank you for watching. Yes, it is deceptive that the online pictures show it with a Navy blue bezel and white numerals. In reality it is lighter metallic blue with cream numerals. I don't know why they didn't use the same white numerals as on the black dialled black bezel version. I previously reviewed this version (see link below). I think the white numerals look better. Regards. ua-cam.com/video/awoSUi5iNdU/v-deo.html&t=
Question, when you reviewed the black version of this, you said it had mineral crystal...this one has hardlex? Or do both have hardlex By the way you should check out the Benyar Daytona homage that they do and compare it to this one and better yet, the Bersigar daytona
Thank you for watching. Apologies, I made a mistake in my review of the black dial version stating mineral crystal; it is Hardlex crystal. I have already reviewed the Bersigar BG-1644 Daytona homage (see link below). With regards to the Benyar Daytona homage, do you mean the BY-5120 (black/white dial)? I bought one for review but it arrived with a dead battery so I returned it for refund. It was out of stock on Amazon, so I decided to review this piece instead. @@waris3732 Thank you for the suggestion. I hadn't seen the BY-5169M before; interesting piece as it is the same as the Pagani Design/Bersigar Daytona homage; but uses the Sunon PE903 rather than the Seiko VK63 to keep the price down. I have don't want to do side-by-side comparison reviews on my channel; but I would like to review the BY-5169M as the colour options look good. Also I think the Beyar brand logo looks better than Pagani Design/Bersigar. They are all made by the same factory in China, so I think they are just experimenting to see which brand name sells best. I just bought the silver dial version on Amazon for £38. I think that is the best looking version. I have a Casio G-Shock DW-5600E review next, but will review it after that. This is one of the early reviews on my channel. Back then I recorded in 1080 using a Canon LEGRIA HF R806. Then when my channel began to make profit I reinvested the money back into my channel upgrading to a Sony FDR-AX53 recording in 4K. I then changed my channel name to "Watch Reviews 4K" as back then the majority of watch channels were still using 1080, few were using 4K. Watch Reviews 4K then became "WR4K". Regards, #WR4K
@WR4K ;) It was a joke about the name and the "4K" being on the first image. I own an actual Planet Ocean and Speedmaster......I was looking at this watch to bang around. I'll probably by 3 of these and put them through abuse. Still? Great review and video.

@@VolkerHett The Seiko VK63 is a reliable, well proven, work horse, mecha-quartz movement. The problem is Corgeut watches have a reputation for poor build quality, and quality control. I think the Pagani Design Daytona is a better option; as it uses the VK63; but has better build quality, and quality control. However it may not be what you are looking for as it is a Daytona homage rather than Speedmaster homage. Really I can't recommend any Speedmaster homages due to their poor quality. Regards.

The 1/10 seconds chrono WILL only run for one minute. You will find the second and minute hands are still running. (or should). But it is perfectly normal for the seconds to stop senselessly running for maybe an hour, in this watches case, needlessly wasting battery. It will move again when you stop it and it will show the 1/10s of a second (or 1/100 but i doubt that... It would almost certainly boast such a function on the face). Hope this helps, and I'm pretty sure your watch is functioning as it should.

Sorry for warbling on about speedmasters.... But hey... This thing is an 'homage',to a watch i have a particular passion for.... And by the way, if the idea of Speedmaster 'reduced' puts you off. This watch is like 1.5mm bigger than my Triple Date.. (if that) Edge to edge not including crown (which is HUGE on this watch)
Also... Not sure if its a feature, but this watch DOES hack. Just keep the hands moving, crown pulled out to max, and the second hand does stop. (another thing that makes me think a Seiko movement is inside.... But would they mark it Seiko or blank them?
We must find out!
Actually... I might email Benyar. Maybe they'll tell me after all that!
Enjoy guys. Had mine 3 or 4 months now and it runs 5 to 7 secs fast a day.
Not bad for the price. Beats hell out of my only other quartz watch. Timex Snoopy from like 1985.
Thank you for watching Avro. Glad you enjoyed it. The movement used is the Sunon PE903 mecha-quartz. Also check out my Omega Speedmaster, and Pagani Design PD-1701 reviews, they may interest you. Regards, #WR4K
I ordered off Amazon and love it
Great review, John, really enjoyed it.
Regards.

Regards.
Great review!!! Regards from Puerto Rico!
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards.
nice review ...just ordered one..£17 direct Aliexpress as well.
Thank you for watching. Congratulations. Wear yours in good health.
Thanks so much for your response!
How does bezel work?
How to Read a Fixed Tachymeter Bezel
A tachymeter bezel is used to calculate speed or, in other words, measure elapsed time over a fixed distance.
Calculating Slower Speeds
The above example is a very straightforward way to measure speed.
Calculating High Speeds
On the flip side, what if you’re measuring the speed of a plane or racecar that will travel more than one mile in 60 seconds?
In instances of an object traveling very quickly, you’ll need to extend the fixed distance (say from one mile to ten miles) for an accurate calculation. Let’s say a jet takes 30 seconds to fly 10 miles. Your tachymeter will indicate a speed of 120 miles per hour. But, because the fixed distance is actually 10 miles (or, differently said, 10 times further than one mile), you’ll multiple that tachymeter scale reading by 10 to calculate a speed of 1,200 miles per hour.

MOUSSA from ALGERIA
Thank you for watching MOUSSA. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards.
Great review! I have one question though. What is the case material?
Thank you for watching. Stainless steel. Regards.
I have the same one but it's different brand
Another thorough review from you John, and as you alueded the watch is a good value all rounder. Nicely done Sir 👍 Tam.
Thank you for watching Tam. Glad you enjoyed it. I think for £35 it cannot be beaten for quality/value. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
Oh great another one for my wishlist. :)
This guy really knows what he's talking about
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Regards.
I too recently received this watch as a gift, was hoping if any one could give me a clear idea as to the make of the movement. Thanks
The movement is a Sunon PE903 mecha-quartz. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k thanks 🙏🏻, btw what is mecha-quartz movement
Another great review. Pity it's 42mm and not 40mm. Reckon it would be too big as I haven't got the thickest of wrist or do you think I could get away with it. Do you prefer the look of the blue or the black. Regards AB
Thank you for watching Andy. Glad you enjoyed it. This piece suits a 7-8" wrist. If you have a 6-7" wrist you will find it wears too large. I prefer the black version. A better option for a smaller wrist is the PD-1664 on rubber strap (see link below to my review). This is 40mm and fits a 6-7" wrist much better. Regards.

My watch stops,I shake if then it start working buy after a minute if again stop. How go solve it?
Try changing the battery Muzammil. Regards, #WR4K
Looking for a 40mm tachymeter reasonable priced watch. Any recommendations as 42mm or 44mm are just too big. Would have bought this one if it had been a 40mm.
I think the PD-1664 (40mm) cannot be beaten under 100 USD. The Seiko VK63 is a reliable mecha-quartz; and overall the quality is excellent. Regards.

Does using the stopwatch shorten the battery life?
Yes Mark. Regards, #WR4K
Does the watch bezel move?

Hi! i bougth that watch and i like it a lot. but did you realize that the numerals on the bezel are not white? ypur watch is just likemine and it took me 5 days to notice it. everytime i loooked at the watch i felt it needed something else... more luminosity. then i realized the lettering on bezel is goldish... not white as in the pictures. that makes a big difference. there are other videos with the same watch but they show white lettering on bezel. it is eye more eye catching. i am no satisfied . i will return it
Thank you for watching.
Or do both have hardlex
By the way you should check out the Benyar Daytona homage that they do and compare it to this one and better yet, the Bersigar daytona
Regards.
ua-cam.com/video/ZdFPZ8Wv11k/v-deo.html&t=
@@watchreviews4k I actually meant the BY-5169M. I'm aware of your BG-1644 review. I actually meant getting the BY-5169M and comparing the two together
I see the BY-516M will be reduced to only 27 Euro on Aliexpress in a couple of days! See link below. Regards.

Great review. Not in 4K and when the white gloves are more expensive than the watch..
Can I switch the band to leather?
Thank you for watching. Yes. Regards.

I think the nearly 30 second still image was a huge put off though.
Thank you for watching daniel. This was one of my early videos. I responded to feedback that my 30 second intro was too long; and reduced it to 10 seconds. Check out my recent videos and you will see the difference. Regards.

Is this automated or battery watch
Thank you for watching. Battery. Regards.
Is there a way to recharge this watch ?
Thank you for watching Ferdinand. The mecha-quartz movement is battery powered; so changing the battery is the only way. Regards, #WR4K
It can't be a mechaquartz, those have a mechanical movement for the chronograph function with more than 1 tick per second.
Thank you for watching Volker. The Sunon PE902 is a quartz chronograph movement. Apologies for any confusion. Regards.
@@watchreviews4k I'm hovering over the add to cart button on this one, it has the Seiko VK63 in it

Regards.
Hello I have this watch and I took off the silicone strap to clean it, but now I cant put on the strap in place, please anyone helpme! (forgive me for my bad english)

I bought one and the chronograph does not function at all only the first minute. Very disappointed
Sorry to hear that Lasse. Regards, #WR4K
