Heavy duty vinyl cleaner is no secret in the marine world. It is literally the only product that will work on marine vinyl in tough shape. That stuff clenas it right off like new when nothing - and i mean nothing - else works. It's pricey but when you need it, you need it. Lower quarter panels here in the Northeast will sometimes require Aggressive to remove stubborn bonded contaminants - a must have here in New England, imo
These meguiars reps definitely did their homework on you. "Version 2.0" of polymer sealants because it was great already but we "tweaked" it to make it better. Even using OG catch phrases. Great video for the information hungry.
Really enjoyed this little series Matt. As a pro, I will "listen" to your videos while I'm working and they provide me with all the answers to thoughts I have, and save so much time in doing research. Hopefully this helps others like myself as well.
Matt, this series is eye opening. But at the same time it’s confirming what most of us enthusiasts already knew. Meguiar’s has too many products to choose from. If you’re a professional it’s great. You have a ton of options to choose from in almost any situation & said options are available in 1 or 5 gallons. But as someone he’s doing this to care for my vehicles & because I enjoy it; I prefer smaller lines. Which is one reason why I’ve transitioned to Angelwax. Much less options to be confused by. Great info though as always. I did pick up some Meguiar’s Quick Interior Detailer from Home Depot this past weekend to keep in my company truck though. Works great for all the plastic in the Silverado.
M105 is not so bad!. OK it creates dust but it is very versatile (Foam, microfiber, wool, da, rotary, hand) and leaves a good finish for a compound that cuts well!. My favorites remain M110 & D300 as a compound. Is in polish M205 & M210 are phenomenal!! Even the consumer versions ultimate compound & ultimate polish are amazing for getting started in 2-step polishing. At times I heard about a good compound or polish, and I tested. But in the end I always came back to meguiar's!. This is only my personal opinion.
M26 High Tech Yellow Wax is a very fine cleaner wax which actually cleans the surface pretty well. I have had in my arsenal for years. the white wax is a mighty fine cleaner wax too. A million ways to get to Shineville!!!!
I like how Matt puts back the bottles (30:30) who has taken down and positioning them to look great, simple things like that makes you a real gentleman 😊
Stop sniffing everything Matt!! We don't want you to eventually get cancer! Also we LOVE your concern for what you might be missing & how that keeps you up at night.
Very interesting Matt thank you! I gave some advice to my friend that is a newbie polisher and he wanted to polish out his new to him ISF, all he had was Maguires ultimate compound and a porter cable and I gave him some different ideas on how to use the machine and it came out spectacular I think I sent you pictures of that blue Lexus ISF. I was worried because I was thinking to myself well the car was previously coated with car pro and not done right, and who really knows if he got all the Si02 coating off? But in The back of my mind I was hoping that a diminished compound would work on that paint. Being that my friend used a over-the-counter consumer product I was pretty amazed with the results.
OMG! You can compound with D300 and go directly to polishing and sealing with D301 without having to wipe the compound out first? Why have I never heard about that?! This is a game changer!
Matt if you can you should so carry a meguiars professional gallons kit, i've only found one single kit and its like an essentials kit and kinda badly put together. Meguiars professional is so underrated and would be really cool to support you and them at the same time and having multiple tiers to your site like the very high end and the more medium end. I've more recently been buying carpro and Adams and honestly i haven't seen much of a gain at all compared to my meguiars series would be cool to see them both sold on your site!
love meguires products. wish they had a little more verity on their bottle labels. its all the exact same bottle with a different number for the product on bottle
Back in the day no car would leave the body shop without a coat of 3M Hand Glaze! It would make all the paint look wet and bring out the brilliance of older paint! It would hide haze, swirls, holograms and minor scratches!
Matt was starting to give the two Meguiar's instructors lessons about detailing, so Meguiar's management sent their hot female associate to deal with Matt!!! =P
@@fkn16v Dont bash the products. In most cases even if u use the top top quality products with stupidity. U can end up with mediocre results. But if u use mediocre product with common sense and maybe a bit tweaking. Absolutely u can get pro grade results.
JE2FREY CCH i find that the M105 and M110 compounds to be ineffective on European hard clear coats. Whereas Menzerna 2500 polish can easily remove those same blemishes. Meguiars are actually very good if you don’t use on hard European clear coats
So the "Mirror Glaze" series is for... hand use? Or is it ok to use with a DA as well, I became lost in the middle of all that info. EDIT: Oop.. ok with a DA, there was the info I was looking for.
I read their interaction so differently with Matt than everyone else. I felt that they were irritated that he wasn't acknowledging products that are excellent but he has no use for. Just because he doesn't use it or have a need for it doesn't mean it isn't great. I feel they were frustrated by that. Also, their definition of pro is someone that details cars for a living.Old, neglected, very dirty cars that aren't their own. A lot of these chemicals are geared toward time savings and effectiveness. They spend less time on scent, slick feel, water beading, packaging etc. They were spot on when they said he was an "enthusiast". It's not a derogatory term if it is used accurately. You can be extremely knowledgeable and experienced and still be an enthusiast.
It would be nice to get a copy of their PowerPoint. They have as many products as Chemcial Guys It's impossible to sort them all out At least it is for me.
Loving Life it’s likely that a normal person would only need 10% of their entire product lines. Gold class Car wash, M110 and M210, sandpaper, clay bar, sanding block, microfibre buffing pads. I just can’t find their cheap consumer or body shop products very useful. The M110 is probably the most useful product people use.
@@hammertimee777 Gold Class isn't worth the price. It's a good product, but it is so weak when it comes to dilution. Their detailer shampoos are better than Gold Class and are way more cost effecient.
Gregory Veizades yeah I agree. I will eventually swap out to Adams when I run out. I remember getting my gallon of gold class wash at Costco for literally $13, so it wasn’t bad at all.
Actually the best student in my opinion, ask the really tough questions and he did. Glad to tag along I learned so much from this small segment!!!!! Thanks Matt
The reason Meguiar's has so many products is entirely different than others (ie CG), as we have products that pre-date clear coats and we have customers that continue to use and trust these products for their classic vehicles. We're not just taking the same stuff and putting it in another bottle with a different name, color or fragrance just to add more items. We just genuinely have that many different "tools" since we have options for an extremely wide range of surface types. Additionally, you have to consider different price points - if we offered just 1 compound, would we build it for the guy who can ob=nly spend $25, or the guy willing to spend $150 for the best of the best? There are a lot of things to consider when creating a complete portfolio as extensive as Meguiar's, and trust me, I feel your pain with the confusion and wish we could simplify the options, but while that make you happy, it will tick off tons of other folks who appreciate the different options. Hope that helps you understand.
@@markuskleis1723 I understand that. The problem starts when I have for example 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, which compound or polish I need to choose? I am sure that you have no answer for me, so I need to buy all of these products to find out which one is most effective.
