    It was great meeting you and hanging out at Meguiar's that night. Can't wait for more of these vids. I love the guys at Meguiar's and what they do for the detailing community with free classes(that include breakfast and lunch). Their pro line is great! They're much more than just some "Walmart" brand that people tend to think.

    Have been using Barry’s products since late 1970’s. Warehouse off Redhill, would buy all the pro line protection, after my Porsche was repainted. Shop in Costa Mesa said only thing he would put on “his” paint. Looked great for over 15 years.
    Having my two year old in Oshkosh with studs using my front hood as a slide. Thus, the new paint and a start of a love of paint detail and car care, ie car crazy

    I work with those kind of dispensers. Those will always be diluted with water. You can remove the metering tip and have a higher ratio, but it will always have water mixed in. The way that those dispensers work, it pulls chemical with the flow of the water.

      I honestly agree, I was ONLY using meguiars professional series(By is insanely cheaper, buying gallons for only a couple dollars more than 16oz bottles from adams), and Adams had so much hype I decided to buy an essentials kit and 2 mystery buckets, I love the products and Honestly the LOOK of them is so nice, but minus a couple products the meguiars did the EXACT same thing and in some instances even more. I'm 100% going back to meguiars after I run out.

      @@deckermorgan7024 best BANG for buck is meguairs PROFESSION/Detailer All purpose cleaner. Buy it in a gallon(Its like maybe 20$) and the sprayer/bottle is an extra few bucks(They also are 32oz which is the best darn thing ever), it deludes 10-1 and for tires its more than enough if you keep any type of maintence up on it(Even every couple months, i tend to clean my tires lightly once a week and MEDIUM clean up once a month and my tires never look dirty), it doubles up as a wheel cleaner also so you can get it all over the wheels also and it will be fine, i preferably clean wheels first and tires second.

    I like Meguiar's Products and consider them one of , if not the best overall all around detail company in terms you can bank on quality+safe+works. But i find any time you call the 1-800 number to ask a question on the back of the bottle you either get someone who: 1- is borderline rude/arrogant 2- doesn't seem to care at all to talk to you
    I never come away with a good feeling calling their 1-800 number to ask questions about their product.

      lightningsmokerXx funny!! I had the exact same experience, the phone operator told me I wasn’t saying their product name, after 2minutes if convincing them I had purchased a meguiars product and wanted to ask a question. The eventually went “OOOOOH” you’re using an old product with a different name......... then she told me that it was too old and my question about if it was safe to use on trims was “no, it’s old, but a new one” that was all I got.......
      No suggestions for what to buy now?
      No answer to my question
      Horrible attitude when I had a real question.
      Denial that they were not informed about their own products

    I have to dilute wheel brightener to 10 /1 or just use xstream caution around my struts because they are anodized my first set was discolored bad using wheel brightener at 4/1 sprayed it on the wheel the over spray that went thru the wheel got on them and blotched the surface. So now use P&S while the wheel is on the car.
    When I do a deep clean on the wheels , I remove them and use wheel brightener.

    D1801 is awesome but it really is far too strong in terms of smell. If it cannot be stored indoors, it's really strong on my meter. For example, I have a bottle of Sonax wheel cleaner plus stored in a closet inside my house currently. I do not smell it at all. The iron decon (D1801) smells up the garage even in the gallon container. It's definitely professional grade and I have yet to use anything more effective, but consumers should heed my warning here. If Matt were to store this at OG HQ, I guarantee people there would be complaining a few hours after the shipping cap were to be removed.

    • @markuskleis1723
      @markuskleis1723 5 років тому +3

      This is getting a bit hardcore about it... but you might want to remove the tar before the iron, because it's technically possibly there could be some iron hiding underneath the tar that you would miss if you went iron then tar removal - make sense? It's splitting hairs... but if you are doing a concourse level detail, something to consider.

      Meguiar's iron decon D1801 is truly my favorite ferrous decontaminant for its super fast response and power on brake dust!. Too bad it is more and more expensive in France. From €89 it has risen to almost €120 per gallon today. Thank you French taxes! LOL. so at times I have to fall back on a less expensive product like the sonax fallout cleaner 5 liters (1.32 gallons) ref 05135050 which also for bodywork and wheels and effective, but much less reactive and less good on other dirt than the D1801 but only cost me 50€~!

Sometimes I feel I am stuck with my gallon of products too long and can’t buy new ones until I finish the old. Many times new products come out before I finish my gallons. I have been using my P21S wheel cleaner for almost 10 years. I’ve had my chemical guys citrus wash for literally 10 years and there’s still half gallon left. We all have that experience when we order products, we fear running out in the middle, so we order more than we need. It also seems like a better deal when we order a gallon rather than a quart. It’s a trap. Maybe it’s time we order less.

    • @markuskleis1723
      @markuskleis1723 5 років тому

      Hey Cameron, it would really depend on the user and their needs/constraints. If you are a typical tunnel car wash, for example, then you wouldn't have the luxury of time or a second rinse location, so you would need to spray this onto a dirty car before it went through the tunnel (which would then rinse it off). We have done testing for those applications and it performs exceptionally well, despite being less than ideal.
      For an enthusiast or detailer, I would recommend washing the vehicle first, drying it, and then applying D1801 so that it can be as undiluted and in as much direct contact as possible. Let me know if you have any other questions!

    The first 11 min were the most nerd I've ever hear 🤓
    The guy doesn't want to waste material, but that means selling less products.

    Doing the Wheels dry? Scratch the absolute crap out of some wheels!!

      D1801 offers more lubrication than water does, so by spraying it onto the wheels dry, you would actually REDUCE the likelihood of scratches. Also, if you spray it onto a dry wheel, then pressure wash, in many situations you wouldn't even need to physically agitate at all - totally eliminating the chance for scratching. Now, if it didn't get them 100% clean, at that point the wheel is now both wet with water and the second application of D1801, so any fear of scratching from the wheel being dry is void. Hope that helps!

    Amazing how employees of a multi billion dollar corporation are able to get by with a $100 pressure washer! What is this world coming to? Don’t they know they need a $1500 water distribution device? Amateurs.

      103eaglecrest hey at least they don’t need a huge lifted off road truck to show how much of a “man” they are

      We don't do traditional car washing at our facility, hence the lack of need for a proper setup. The city of Irvine (where it is located) has some of the most strict water runoff laws in the country. We typically use waterless washing only for that reason.

    I get too much of a sales vibe from these guys. They should talk about the problem their product solves vs. features of their product.
