  • Want to know what its really like to be in the water with sharks?
Water Inspired conservation organization was co founded by Ocean Ramsey as a way to help show people the beauty of the underwater world, especially sharks. Through diving, photography, videography, research and conservation campaigns Ocean Ramsey and Water Inspired hope to inspire people to take an interest in preserving the beauty of the natural marine environment especially sharks. In the last three decades shark populations have been decimated by over 90%. The need for shark conservation is great. Along with shark finning, by-catch, and culling, the way sharks have been demonized in the media has undeservingly contributed to their demise. Water Inspired and Ocean Ramsey have traveled the world to show people there is more to sharks than mets the eye, sharks are important, and they need to exist. Please help save sharks.
Video shot in over 7 different countries over nearly a decade and there's more to come.
Please help support shark conservation by checking out www.waterinspired.com
*Diving with sharks with out an experienced guide is not recommended. Sharks need to be respected as wild animals. www.oneoceandiving.com for guided educational shark diving in Hawaii.

    Dear Ocean and team,
I don't know how often I have seen this video in the last few years. But it must be a dozen times for sure. Thank you so much for these beautiful impressions! Whenever I see it a quote comes to my mind: "However, ask, please, the animals, and they will instruct you; Also the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you. Or give consideration to the earth, and it will instruct you; And the fish of the sea will declare it to you. Who among these does not know that the hand of Jehovah has done this?" - The Bible, Job 12:7-9. If you'd like to learn more about this verse and a priceless hope for the future, for sharks and mankind, ask Jehovah's Witnesses about it, next time you meet them at your door😉 or in the streets. Kind regards from Germany and best wishes, Manuel

When I was around 5 years old (2010) I met my first shark. I forgot what species it was, but I remember it was off the coast of Western Australia. That was the vey year I fell in love with sharks. From then on, (after I learnt about their state, of course.) I decided that when I grow up, I also want to devote my life to shark conservation

First of all I have to say a my hat is off to you you are totally fearless and I don't know how you do it. I'm deathly afraid of sharks growing up in the Bahamas in the 70s. During the time Jaws was popular. I know I'm afraid of them beyond what. I should be. I just can't help my generation was brought up to be afraid of sharks. At any rate I'm glad to see you're doing these videos because what you're saying is correct I know you're right we are not their natural food not to say they won't eat us if they're hungry I'll take a bite out of us but most the time it's us doing stupid crap that makes them lunge towards us. If people understood the more I would be a lot less attacks they would know what to do and they wouldn't use behavior around a shark that would cause the shark to wanting to go to Ward them if they understood them better. You have more guts than any man alive I've never seen anybody at home in the water with sharks the way you are you act like you're one of them. They seem to know you mean them no harm and look as though they want you to rub their head like a dog or something wanted to get petted. I saw your short video of You partially removing a shark hook out of the corner of a tiger sharks left side bottom jaw. You cut away everything but the hook chain that the hook would rust out later but I'm pretty sure that was a stainless steel hook and I really hate to think of a Shark 🦈 spending its life swimming the oceans with a stainless steel hook sticking out of it's jaw and never being able to remove it. So sad. They need to band all stainless steel hooks. All hooked should be made out of steel that rust away quickly in both freshwater and saltwater.
God Bless You and Your Family Beautiful.

the most dangerous sharks live on land anyway...- very inspiring and educational video!
Even when watching a shark documentary on a "serious" channel like National Geographics they put on a scary soundtrack in the background that makes them look dangerous.

I really love what you're doing. We need more ppl like us. Sharks need our help. My dream is to swim with a Great White before I die. I've been in heated arguments with some ppl trying to tell them how many sharks humans kill a year. It's insane! if I had the money, I'd definitely come to Hawaii to swim with them. You are so right and I want shark finning to stop. immediately! Sharks play a huge role in our ecosystem. We can't live without them but they can't live without our voice. They need our help. If I ever get the money, I will book a shark diving expedition with you. God bless you!

Fear is the hardest thing to conquer. I’ve found watching the behavior of an animal greatly lowers my fear. If we could all learn how to conquer fear or at least be ok with a small amount of fear, our planet would be a better place because of it.

You`re awesome, so cool and real job for protecting sharks as naturalist and biologist. You`re an example for me who must be a diver, shark protector and propagandist for saving nature and destructive stereotypes about these amazing animals. unfortunately no one in my country supporting me in a way to become a shark conservationist, even my university. All speaking about agriculture and how it`s more important for Russia. But no! The ocean is part of us to, and if don`t have a lot of sharks in our waters, their extinction will be on us too. But most parts of our scientist are a slaves in paper works, presentations and cabinets... they never saw a real-life sharks and afraid of them. How one day i will take some lessons from you, mrs Ramsey about shark diving, for now, i just try to find a job with sharks as near as it possible. Good luck to your and Juan and thank you for your job!

Dear Ocean Ramsey, I think you are wonderful trying to save sharks. Killing 100 million sharks per annum meanly for sharkfin soup is crazy. The disguisting part of it. Finning living sharks, cutting off their fins while they are still a life is cruel. Then trowing them overboord, unable tot swim the sharks sink to the bottom of the sea. Starve to dead and rot away. This is extemely cruel and a waste! Which makes me extremely angry. Thank you for letting us see there real behaviour. We only love what we understand and only protect what we love. Thank you for these wonderful videos! I would love to learn to freedive and to go freediving with you and these sharks! You are wonderful and amazing!

    *****,
Can you shed some light on the psychology of sharks and why it is possible for you to swim with them? Did you feed them first? Did you gain their trust? The general consensus seems to be that sharks and other predatory animals are _"stone cold killers"_ without emotion or compassion, yet time and time again, we see people swimming with polar bears bonding with crocodiles.
Also, can you put links in your description to the various petitions against shark fining and other resources?
    *Sincerely,*

I agree, these apex predators do play a vital role in the function of our ocean's ecosystems and deserve our protection, but dolphins deserve a greater amount of attention IMO due to their intelligence and sentience. Also, shark conservation in Hawaii? I think Hawaii is already on board, Hawaiian ancient tradition honors the shark as a deity, they are in no danger here. The shark finning is taking place in Japan, travel to Okinawa and make some videos over there and show the Japanese that sharks are to be respected as an important and docile species.
