The downshifts and blips sound lethargic, though I'm sure they were absolutely on point. It's a pity they didn't make provisions for aftermarket pipes on this one, else it would have been one of the sweetest sounding triples of all times, like the old Daytona... ❤️
Well observed! Hats off! Because indeed that is one of the few bad things I could say about the bike. The RidebyWire seems to be setup in a very smooooth (and beginner-friendly) way. Which means it felt like it was lagging a bit behind sometimes. It's not noticeable while normal accelerating etc. but it is when going for rev-matching. Although it sounds better on video than it felt on the bike itself. So I'm even more impressed by you rightly noticing this!! :)
ENJOY the triple symphony!! Any rattling sound you can hear is NOT coming from the bike. It comes from my sound setup. Since I was on a work trip I unfortunately couldn't bring my usual recording backpack. But I think my makeshift setup wasn't too bad either ;)

What a great video! The engine and the looks of the bike are amazing. The sound is like engine is always in real tension, which makes you more engaged. I don't care is this the best bike or not, but it's definitely the best choice. Thank you and wow!
You never know how it really sounds until Schaaf publishes a video. I am curious to hear the new Mt-09 tuned by Yamaha music department on Schaaf's channel!
It seems to be a common misunderstanding but there is no such "music department" of Yamaha. The motorcycle manufactuer Yamaha Motor and the musical instrument manufacturer Yamaha are basically different companies. Yamaha Motor is seperated from its parent company long ago in 1955, back then who is still named Japan Musical Instrument Manufacturing (Nippon Gakki Seizou (Nichigaku)). It is not until 1987 that Nichigaku formally changed its name to Yamaha in order to honor its founder and commemorate its 90th annivesary. The sound of Yamaha Motor's motorcyle is specially tuned by Yamaha is just a well known bluff. Despite the naming the two companies now have little connections and they are not affiliates. Yamaha Motor as a motor company belongs to the Toyota bloc.
As a rider in India, that's among our everyday commute AND interstate highways, so was wondering how it runs. Your channel gave me all the info it needed, no drama, no fuss, just you, that bike and the open roads. Turned me into a subscriber. Ride safe out there! ✌️
The thing I love about the Trident over all of the bikes in it's segment... is it's overall size, it just looks like a perfect pair of jeans, not too small not to big, just about right! (8:53 damn... what an amazing place to ride btw
That is probably the bumpiest, most cracked and road I have seen you on ! 😩 Still in pristine condition compared to the average UK road where we have nothing but potholes liked by poor-quality repairs...😠 I am in awe of your ability on an unknown road 👍👍👍👍👍
People are having their tires and suspension destroyed by the potholes here in Canada's capital. Worse yet in Quebexico. Also gravel all over corners because of the gravel shoulders that drivers cut into.
I think this will be my next bike. Looks like a great mixture of value, affordability, style, build quality, and performance. I’m very eager to try one out in the states
Good Gawd - that road at the start is hellish. It's certainy gving yer forks and seals a thorough testing (and yer wrists). With all those serious dents bumps, cracks and the surface itself, it looked more like a road suitable for a motocross and not a roadbike. Nice note to the bike, liked the whine. Been down the Hinkley Triumph route before many years ago ( a Trophy 1200/4) and swore never again. But, I'm glad to hear their engineering has improved a lot since then.
Looks damn good, sounds pretty good, drives pretty good, i think we are looking at the new duchess of the class! Sidenote: is there an international conspiracy for the distribution of ugly mirrors?
Most people replace them with what they want anyways so it never bothered me. It is nice that the stock turnsignals and headlight are perfectly fine and look great
I ordered my trident 2 weeks ago, along with the bar end mirrors. I won’t drive it out the dealership until the new mirrors are installed ;) Ps: I have to wait 9 months… these videos help me get though the long wait.

@@Schaaf Nice! How did you feel about the back end? many bikes like the sv650, Z750 and MT07 have that wallowy behavior when slightly pushing on curvys roads where the tarmac isnt buttery smooth.
