During the 2016 Peroni Race weekend at he Imola circuit some F1 cars took the track along the Boss GP formula cars. There was a rare Forti FG03-96 driven by the two italians Andrea Montermini and Luca Badoer in the 1996 F1 season. The car was designed by Giorgio Stirano, Hans Fouche took care of the aerodynamics while Sergio Rinland was the technical director. It was originally equipped with a V8 Ford-Cosworth Zetec-R engine while the current version, brought to the track by the German Hans Laub, mounts a V10 Judd GV-4 engine that develops around 750 HP. The Forti F1 weight about595 kg. Unfortunately, during its short racing career (a couple of years), the car proved slow and with a poor efficient aerodynamics.

Grazie a te 👏👏👏
Still sounds better than today's F1
Oh, yes, sure, sounds like a real F1 car...👍
small team that died in the midle of 1996 season, to shame..........and great footage
Marko Kovandžić Yeah...thank you 👍
Nice to finally see what it looked like
The engine noise is quite unique for me, never heard an engine sound like that on f1 car before.
it was originally equipped with a V8 Ford-Cosworth Zetec-R engine but now mounts a V10 Judd GV-4 engine that develops around 750 HP.
It's not fully opened up that why
Beautiful car.
Unbelievable. Brings back the memories
What a beauty of a car this still is
Yes, I'm agree with you ;-)
Yes, I'm agree with you ;-)
I believe when this car originally raced it had a cosworth V8 power plant. When the team folded they had to give them back. Its cool the cars still exist. Ironically today, it may have a better engine and gearbox than it did when it ran in 96.
You're right. It was initially equipped with a V8 Ford-Cosworth Zetec-R engine while the current version mounts a V10 Judd GV-4 engine that develops around 750 HP. Absolutely yes, the engine and gearbox are currently better than it had in 1996...
If i remember rightly, the 1996 Forti was a significantly better package than the 1995 Forti and looked capable of competing in the lower midfield and scoring anywhere between 1-4 world championship points that season. Was the car not driven by Andrea Montermini?
Yes, correct, Montermini drove this car. I must also confess that I have the model of this Forti F1 and two years ago I met Andrea Montermini who signed it for me, and we talked, he was surprised that someone had made a model of his F1 😅
It only looked that way in the very early design process when they still had Diniz and his money and were in negotiations for a better engine (the best Cossie engine around in fact) the minute Diniz left to go to Ligier, that died and Forti ended up with only a marginally better engine they had the year before, and were forced to delay the new car until Imola. Sad, but this is what happens when your entire budget is based on a pay driver.
😁👍nice bzzz🐝
The car was designed by George Ryton
Wtf, why the Judd engine in this car?
More powerful and more reliable
it must be harder to rebuild a 3000cc engine than a 4000cc ones.
A shame this team never succeeded.
Yes, you're right 👍
Last private team in F1
really? I didn't know
Williams were the last privateer team (when they only had customer engines)
@@jrf2467 Out of interest, what do you consider the "rules" to be a privateer
Shannon Racing killed Forti
It was a decent car, but then they got scammed :'(
What a pity!
Judd engine??mwoah...not the true engine of the '96 Forti...
Yep, is not the original engine...
Italiansupercarvideo it was a Ford V8 if I remember?the same or even the same of '95?
Yes, correct, V8 Ford-Cosworth Zetec-R engine
Thank you for this very exhaustive explanation 👍
@eugenio1001 nope, I think it was the 94 engine with that Schumacher won the title which Sauber used in 95
