    Just made this recipe and the Korean beef stock powder really made the soup super amazing! I added mushrooms and extra ground meat to make it more filling. I liked the 2Tbls of paste to 1/2 cup of water ratio for the broth, I’ve definitely doubled and tripled the recipe to make it for more people. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, I can now make my most favorite Korean soup!

      I made the mistake of adding too many vegetables to mine… Diluted it too much. And my local Korean grocer recommended a seafood-based seasoning because I’m not huge on beef… I loved it!

    Also, fusion tacos are a way of life where I live (Houston), and I've combined this soup base with ground meat and topped the taco with red cabbage, avocado, gochujang mayo drizzle, and cilantro. Out of this world delicious!

    Aaron and Claire, your channel has been a godsend during the pandemic. I just made this recipe and it was not only delicious but I love that it makes a large batch of easy to freeze sauce. My wife (Korean-American) thought the flavor was good but it was too spicy for her. It was perfect for me! Keep publishing, we're going to make the budae jjigae next!

    • @AaronandClaire
      @AaronandClaire  3 роки тому +1

      I'm so glad you liked it and can't wait for the next try! 😊👍 P.S. Sundubu Jjigae is quite spicy food, but just in case, please check the chili pepper flakes you're using because normal chili powder or flakes doesn't work with Korean dishes. It needs to be Korean chili pepper flakes called gochugaru(고춧가루) and if you can choose the level of spiciness, please go for mild one.(보통맛 or 덜매운) 😊

    I love it, it's really something else now that I think about it: someone who speaks PERFECT English but with a delightful accent. That combination is actually extremely rare when I think of how few people I can identify as being the same. The accent normally accompanies faltering, slightly broken English-- not almost perfect English! I'm going to look out more vigilantly for more people who are magical in this way too. Charming, I love listening to it you sound otherworldly at the exact same time you sound like a college professor! I pay complete attention to your instructions whilst feeling a sense of magic. So wonderfully weird! It's what makes you unique, not just on UA-cam but on planet Earth. xoxo

  • @sigiluvsu
    @sigiluvsu 3 місяці тому

    This is my favourite way to eat tofu, and I'm always happy when I find this prepared base in the freezer. My only suggestion is to check how hot your gochugaru is before committing to one cup! I accidentally bought the hottest flakes, and the first time I made this the heat was unbelievable! Now I use less flakes and my mouth is happier.
