But since I started learning how to cook Korean food from you then we stopped going out for dinner or even ordering food. Thank you so much. So you're always a part of our relationship. Sadly last december my loved ones had to go back to S.Korea for military service. I stopped cooking since then. But i still watching all of your videos cuz it feels like we're still together. Heamul is by far the best version of sundubu for me! I'm lucky to live near the ocean and love using fresh local ingredients but even with canned clams and frozen shrimp this soup is amazing.
If you're recovering from covid and need to clear out your sinuses, make this soup. You'll thank me later!

I truly appreciate your efforts for several years now in making such exotic food accessible to us the uninitiated . It was intimidating years ago but you were there to gently guide us through. Now we can't have enough of it even cooking Korean food in the comfort of our homes with dedicated cooking tools and grills. How about that ? My kimchi is fermenting and maturing , a number of banchan in the fridge I can't do without. I believe it is because of you who was our intermediary or "food diplomat" , ha ha 😂.

I made this today and HOLY CRAP. Im blown away by how good it was. I couldn't find dried anchovies or kelp at my local grocery store so I used shrimp stock but it still came out delicious.

There is this Korean restaurant called Hosoonyi (in the Seattle area) and I always get the seafood tofu soup. I love it so much and the soups get served it rice, and bunch of little dishes like sprouts, kimichi, fried tofu, beans, seaweed, some mash potatoes but it’s cold but delicious and a whole bunch of other things. It’s so bomb.
They have a bunch of other really great food. Korean food is delicious.

I just made this today, but substituted the anchovy stock for chicken stock and added in some courgettes and enoki mushrooms. It left me so full and satisfied. The jjigae tasted so amazing, it was honestly super tasty!!! And spicy just how I love it. Now I can make this myself at home whenever I’m craving it, instead of spending a lot of money at a restaurant. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us ☺️🫶🏼

What exactly do you use? I somehow read "seaweed" instead of "seafood" in the title and watched a bit confused all the oysters and shrimps. 😅 I'd sub with mushrooms, but also would like to know what do you use in vegan version of this stew. 😊
I substitute polar brand canned shiitake mushrooms for convenience. I ordered on Amazon.

Amazing. I made this for dinner yesterday but ate all the tubu, so I had to add more this morning for breakfast. I dunnonif you added it to your soup, but I happened to have some mu lying around so I added that to my soup.

We’ve made your sundubu-jiigae many times with pork, but I think it’s time to make it with seafood! Also, I was able to find dried anchovies so I can finally make anchovy stock. I’ve been using dashi in the meantime.
