Hi Miriam. You are a natural and thank you for just welcoming us but not doing the “hello’s to everyone as we joined the chat. That in itself made your live so much better. Kudos to the moderator Lena; she was awesome. 👏
Aww thank you so much, Delia!!! 💖 and yes! Lena did a great job!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi Miriam. I made it too late for the live so I’m watching the video. It’s very informative so far. I enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot from you.
Aww hopefully we’ll see you in the next one, Patsy! I’m so glad the videos are helpful for you!💖
Miriam, I enjoyed this Live so much! Thank you for being you, interacting with your audience, actually taking and answering questions, sharing stories about you so that we all get to know you on a personal level so we feel like you are more of a friend instead of just a UA-cam personality. I am rewatching this morning as I start to clean my sewing room. Thank you for your advice to my question. I now have an idea and direction on teaching my friend. Side note, I’ve already taught her to crochet which wasn’t easy as she is left handed and I’m right.
Hey Crystal! Oh wow that’s awesome! I’m a leftie and tried to learn crochet from a righty…if didn’t go well 😂😂😂 I kept making my stitches too tight. I’m so glad you made it to the live and you enjoyed it! Very relieved that it went well 🫣 haha I was nervous, but everyone was so nice!💖
Miriam, I finally caught up with your first UA-cam ‘live’. You are a delight! Thank you for adding so much personality and good quilting info to the world of UA-cam quilting channels!
Thank you so much for watching and for your sweet message 💖 you just made my day!
There is a quilt show in July in Lancaster Pa somewhere. Jean Truelove is a you tuber mother of 10 children is entering 2 of her quilts. She lives in Philadelphia Pa. She looks so young for her age. Check her out. Thank you for sharing and answering questions.
I’ll look her up! 👏🏻 thank you for watching, Donna 💖💖
You have sweet Jenny Doan there. You are so lucky.
Yeah!!! I live about an hour and a half away from their shops! I’ve been there several times, it’s so much fun! 👏🏻💖
You would have to go look it up. But sewing with nancy zieman. And i go back and look at her shows all the time. Sorry to mention it cause, unfortunately, she has passed away. But her style of teaching is so amazing
Oh yeah I really enjoyed Nancy’s teaching too!
Nancy was the absolute best!
YES
Just finished one with red black sashing. Washed it using colored catchers that worked really well used no detergent just fabric softener. Laid it flat to dry and it dried over night.
Awesome! 👏🏻👏🏻
I caught the last few min of the live but watched from the beginning once it was over :) great job….you’re a natural. Looking forward to more with you in the future🎉
Thanks so much, Elisa!!!💖💖💖
Hi Miriam, I’m watching from Australia and doing some hand quilting, enjoying your UA-cam channel, best wishes
Thank you so much for watching, Jan 💖💖
Just watching today (from Missouri) while working on a quilt top that I had stashed with several others from my mom. She passed away a couple of years ago and working on these quilt tops this summer is so comforting. Ran across your video and am loving it. Some of my family is from upper Wisconsin so your accent is awesome! Hearing you say "neat", "having a ball", "cupboard", etc is giving me joy. I would absolutely join a sew-along and sent my name/email for the gingham square dance quilt :0) I'm using a Pfaff Passport 2.0 that I purchased a few years ago. Would like another machine, but this is doing the job for now. Happy quilting everyone!!
Yay! So glad you're enjoying the video! That is so beautiful that you working on quilts that your mom also worked on. Such a priceless gift she left you. Thank you so much for watching, and I'm definitely planning on doing a sew-along! Just need to figure out the logistics of everything. I've never hosted one before.
Hi Miriam, being in the UK meant the timing wasn't great for the live but catching up now. Glad I found you on UA-cam. Just about to start on the cottage twirl quilt with fabric bought from Missouri Star with your discount :) Love your content and emphasis that quilting doesn't have to be 'perfect'. Best Estella :)
Hello, Estella (What a beautiful name!) I'm so glad you enjoy my videos and yay! You're going to make Cottage Twirl! It's such a fun pattern. Thank you so much for watching and using my MSQC link! I really appreciate it!
Hi Miriam, I'm watching the live on Sunday, so not live. But you did a great job. I found you watching Juki reviews. Your review convinced me. I love my Juki tl2010q! You were so adorable that I had to check out your other videos. You had me with the glue basting! ❤
Aww thank you so much for watching, Cheryl! And yes! I love the tl2010q too! It’s such a great machine 🥰
Thank you so much, didn't watch you live as I had a long drive to visit my daughter and extended family over my birthday weekend but I watched it today and I enjoyed how you answered questions especially those that I would have wanted to ask had I joined for the live. Very informative and inspiring, thanks Miriam ❤. Can't wait to see your finished quilt 🎉.
Aww thank you so much! And Happy Birthday!!!🎉🎁 💖
Hi Miriam! I enjoyed your LIVE very much it was very relaxing although I was cooking a late dinner at the same time 😁so I did more listening than contributing 😜 I do want to follow along with your pattern but I need to pick out my fabrics 😝 I may just do all the smaller blocks or the larger blocks not sure if I will do them both 🙃 I like to be different 😜
Yeah!!! That would totally work with this pattern; it’s very versatile! 💖 so glad you enjoyed the live! It was quite fun 🥰
I didn't find you through glue basting. I found you through a Juki review! I haven't looked back 😂. I love your channel ❤
Oh awesome!!! I’ve gotta make more videos about my machine! Thanks for watching 💖🤓
This was great, Miriam. You are a person who has the natural ability to just talk and that's perfect for lives!! From what I've seen of sew alongs, pre-recorded seems to be the best way to satisfy everyone (block at a time type patterns). The faster quilters don't feel held up and the slower quilters don't feel left behind. But I've also seen ones that do a live to show some of the details and techniques, then end off with "do 5 more" or "finish the row" during the month. Love your work!!
Thank you so much for the info on sew alongs! 💖 I really appreciate it!
Hi Miriam I didn’t catch the live because it was midnight here in the uk 🇬🇧 but watched today, really enjoyed the chat, thank you!!! X
Yay! So glad you enjoyed it! 💖👏🏻 thank you so much for watching!
Hi Miriam - I am so glad to have found your channel. I have been watching your older videos and have enjoyed them very much. Your are so sweet and I appreciate your style of teaching and casual authentic way you share your experience and knowledge. Congratulations on your live. Hope to catch a live in the future.
Thank you so much for watching, Sable, and for your sweet comment! So glad you’re enjoying my videos! 💖💖
I am glad you tried to live. This is a good one. I am sewing along with you. I am making a scrap sunflowet print quilt. So i am here sewing with you.
Aww cute! I bet it’s going to be beautiful! Thank you for watching, Denise!! 💖💖
Quick question - are you cutting with a stripology ruler? Yes I air dry over night on a horizontal bannister. Heat will deteriorate fabric.
💖 thanks for the info! And no, I don’t have one of those rulers! They look pretty cool though!
Watching the recording! Hate it I couldn’t join in live!
Next time!! 👏🏻💖
When you quilt with a crosshatching pattern do you have to use a certain measurement between the lines?
That's how I like to do it! Here's a video where I show you how to do the crosshatch quilting: ua-cam.com/video/CR3FiC4a8p8/v-deo.html
That attics look are great that would be a good sew along. I have watched sew alongs with Pat Sloan and Jenny Doan.
Thank you for your input, Linda! I appreciate it!
I would say go out to resale shop and find a old singer. Cause they have such good tension set to learn on and go up from there. You wont be sorry.
Great advice 💖
I can hear you
How to post a question?
You can post a question in the comments and I'll be able to see it and answer! :)
Yes
My machine pulls my project to the left while trying to sew my quarter inch. I just have a little Brother sewing and Embroidery machine from Walmart and it’s done this from the beginning. I think a piece of my Presser foot came out crooked when made.
That’s a bummer! Maybe try another foot and see if it still has this issue? Or is the machine still under warranty?
@@StitchObsessed no longer under warranty. I will try another foot though. Thank you
I’m sorry I missed this special event
No worries, Angela! Hopefully you can make it to the next one! 💖
Thank you so much for this pattern. I enjoy watching you and look forward to more live videos and would love a sew along if you do one
Thank you so much! 💖 we’ll definitely do a sew along later this year! I just need to research them and figure out how I want to host it 🤓💖
@@StitchObsessed You are awesome ❤
Oh I can’t wait to see the video about the table.
Yeah! I’m looking forward to FINALLY trying the table 😂
I love solids too!
Yay! 💖
Hear ya
Yay!
Thank you for answering my question about flange binding. I think I will try that too. The rickrack one does look so pretty. :)
Of course! That’ll be fun to try! I love the small detail it adds. 🥰
I haven’t gotten my fabric yet
So sorry I missed the live. Catching you later😊
It’s all good 💖💖💖 the time flew by!
I can hear you
I can hear you
Hello!
Yes
Awesome job Miriam🥳
Thank you so much, Glenda!!! 💖💖💖💖 seriously 🤗🤗🤗
@@StitchObsessed You are so very welcome! You bring a lot of joy 2 this old lady and so many more. May you always stay happy and bubbly like Champayne and a awesome teacher. Be blessed always
@@glendahyde871 you’re such a sweetheart 💖🤗
Miriam, I’m so sorry to have missed your first live. Absolutely catching your replay now. I’ll definitely be making a Gingham Square Dance! Your instructions are quite clear and it looks like a fun sew.❤
Yay! So glad you’re going to make a Gingham Square Dance quilt! 🥰
Thank you Miriam for going live for having the bravery to do this. Having said that I didn't miss it I'm sorry. But I'm going to watch the recorded version.
@@jodybartilson7980 no worries! It’s hard to pick a time where EVERYONE can come! I’m glad UA-cam records the lives so I can post them after 💖
What is meant when you were talking about flange binding
@@jodybartilson7980 a flange is like an extra little layer of folded fabric that lays right next to the binding.
👍🏻
Awesome Job Miriam! 😉☺☺
Thank you so much, Lena!!!! You did a fantastic job as the moderator!!! I owe ya big time!!! 💖💖💖
@@StitchObsessed Don't be silly you don't owe me anything. I didn't do anything but watch your stream and comment to people. Had a great time let me know if you need anything in the future you know how to reach me. ☺
Yay now i have more time to cut my fabric so i can sew along 😁🙃😉
😂😂😂 I can’t believe I only got a few strips cut 🥴🥴
@@StitchObsessed LOL totally fine considering it was your first live and a million ?`s . As of Sunday June 9th, I'm a great grandma to a beautiful little boy
@@StitchObsessed Cutting strips takes a lot of concentration to make sure you cut accurately and not cut yourself - LOL! Maybe in the future have them precut and sit at your machine and sew while talking. ☺☺
@@glendahyde871 awww yay!!! Congratulations!!!! 💖💖💖💖
@@lenacoleman1142 that would have been a good idea! Haha! Ya live and ya learn! 🫣😂
