Kojima stated that he didn't want to show a trailer of explosions and death everywhere, he wanted to show what the game will look and probably feel like.

Plus the character did whip out what looks to be a rifle of some sort near the end of the hiking bit. I'd be surprised if the game had no combat whatsoever.

The rain isn't acid. The rain causes you, or whatever part of you it touches to age rapidly. He was also getting goosebumps in the cave.
Ohhhh, the baby is a clone of him that his consciousness transfers into it he dies. That’s why he was naked in the first trailer, and that’s why he has no belly button. He’s already died many times before, but he always comes back as long as he has a clone baby self prepared.
That raises even more questions than we had before, but at least we have some vague answers now.

I find this plot to be dumb and plain out weird in my opinion.
We don't even know if that's the plot xD none of us have any idea what the real plot is and knowing Kojima it could be completely different from our expectations. Personally the clone theory seems hella cool to me cuz I like weird sci-fi stuff like that.

Took me some time to realise, every man walking around with a package is Norman Reedus, every time. Just with a different haircut, just remember that even Kojimbo said you could customize Norman
This game turned out to be one of the best games I've ever played
Im close to finishing the Directors Cut (first timer) and I become so lost towards the end. As much as I tried to understand a good portion of the game, i felt like Ive been asking too many questions and getting some or far out there answers.

I am so in - lonely survival exploration where the toll of these deliveries affects the character in real time? Just imagining the increasing difficulty with carrying the heavier cargo is so interesting, especially if you have to hide from or avoid those things while doing so.
Did anyone else notice that the foot/hand prints didn't have any effect on the photograph? The earth beneath it was depressed, but the photo wasn't smushed into ground as you would expect. It was almost as if the hand/foot went straight through it without interacting with it. I'm assuming that was intentional, but I wonder what the significance was.
Paroex Or it could he that whatever they are,they are not really there.Their movement has an effect of ground because they are connected to it.The sand is making their steps as they walk or think of walking,sort of like their avatar in this world.
It's like the oil like substance that fills the hand prints comes from below, and the hand itself can interact with the terrain but not the photo?

The only thing that is common in all instances except photo they were living being connected to ground.Maybe ground is connected to all dimension.

Playing Death Stranding was a special experience. I hope to replay it on PS5 or PC when I acquire it.
"Fast forwards whatever it touches" - Explains why the creatures created life (sprouted plants) as it walked by, and why taking hold of a human aged him instantly. Doesn't explain why...but it seems they aren't simply sucking the life force out of humans like the previous trailer seemed to suggest.
You got it wrong, the creatures have nothing to do with the fast forwarding stuff. It's the rain called Timefall. Thats why when one drop of rain touched Sam's hand that spot got old. That's why you see plants growing and dying, it's not the monsters.
I think that's also why he is with a baby all the time.
Isn't it, like, a cloned version of himself, so, when those things get him (in his adult form) his baby will just grow up straight up to an adult version of himself?
That would explain all the naked scene with him lol

Brian .Faehau I think the baby is important for a different reason because of two things. One is that on the website for death standing it says that Sam is carrying the future, or something like that. Good probability that it's the baby because he has it with him in all the trailers, but carries and gets rid of different packages. Also, not everyone is carrying a baby in the trailers, which you would think would be important to people if it means they could come back to life. Also, in the second trailer a whole group is helping Sam transport some stuff, and there is only 1 baby. When the man carrying the baby for Sam is about to die, he tosses the baby to sam, because Sam has the best chance of survival (because he can come back to life), instead of saving himself.
Me, who doesn't even have the console to play this game, but likes running around pretty maps and experiences friggin weird ass stories: TAKE MY MONEY
Over the years I became so picky about buying or even playing video games. Not everything deserves my time. And Dark Souls taught me that. And I've been gaming for over 30 years. After watching this atmospheric trailer I have decided that Death Stranding going to be my next purchase after Bloodborne. In this era where most of games are milking their titles and ideas, it's hard to find games like these.

foetus-powered mechanical arms, implicit alternate timelines, an army of invisible extradimensional monsters attached to umbilical cords, and rain that alters the flow of time.
i'm pretty well versed in sci-fi as a genre, but this doesn't exactly look cliche.
you can't watch that and say "nope, not interested in that game"
My thoughts about this game is this:
Norman (Sam) is a astronaut deliver who lands in a planet with different time, space, life and death context. If you look closely the trailers shows you a breaking universe colliding with another one, or at least alternative universe monsters.
Death Stranding would be mean a restart by at least the beginning of the level, that if the game is not a sandbox. The baby thing is what allows you to return to real world, perhaps those dark things drag you to another dimension and you must find the way to come back "i keep coming".
I call a survival horror game, water, stamina, health, crafting, would be important for the player. We don't know how the fight system is, maybe a third person shooter but only with one type of enemy.
You know you trust someone when you're willing to throw money without knowing what you're getting
Fun fact: Kojima used the iconic Bionic Man/Woman sound effect in MGS V.

Not a great show... I'm only 16, but my dad really liked Six Million Dollar Man, and I like it too (the beginning of that show is freaking amazing), but the show itself was mediocre... And the spinoff was even moreso. But, it's crazy seeing Lindsay Wagner how she looked in the 70's, in Death Stranding... lol

theory: the baby is him right, well the plants around him age significantly when the hands get near them. so maybe those hands age the baby which is him, basically cloning him but the old him dies. kinda like soma in a means of recreating his conscience. bit of a sloppy explanation but seems to go well with the theme of him being naked after the events.
No the baby is his respawner. When the enemy kills him, they kill him through ageing but at the same time they'll age the baby to maturation.

My early theories based off opinions and kojimas little info i want to know the connection with the umbilical cords those things have them that pull him down as well as the babies ive noticed to all those hand prints on him at all times must be from him getting pulled down at the end of the trailer kojima has said there is no dying in this game i think where the woman is at the end is where you go when you die in the game im assuming norman reedus character delivers his deliveries and dies all the time like a loop hes stuck in hes obviously trying to save the earth from whats going on as kojima has said and so far hes obviously tried and failed over and over and over im just very excited to learn this game kojima always delivers

Beautiful world. Excellent animations. So many questions. Terrifying idea though. Alone hunted by invisible beings. Definitely a metal gear solid vibe with the sneaking by enemies stuff but hell if that entire game is like that going to be so nerve racking lol

Everyone is so blow away by how beautiful and intense the game looks, but I don't think any of them can make heads or tails of what the hell' seen going on.
Definitely nice to see the gameplay, even if it was alot of walking. Still, it does seem like we are likely a good way's off before we can even ballpark the release year.
