I wish they realised how big of a deal story wise it was you could make choices now. The fact that you can make choices and change things when the history is supposed to be set is a big deal. It is a big part of the story now. They set it up in origins because they knew what they wanted.
It is set before Origins, nothing says different people in different locations and time periods couldn't be advancing towards the same goals or ideas (the Assassin's Order), they also could have different Pieces of Eden or similar artifacts.
@@Teremei odyssey is better from origins: 1)biggest world in ac.. it combines a huge map of land and sea (for sea battle) 2)more interesting quests (you've not going to be bored easily) 3)rpg I suggest you to But now ac odyssey and later origins *origins is also good but not as odyssey.. The reasoning for the added chat options is because most people skipped the unimportant dialogue in origins mostly side quest/non cut scenes . Now you have to listen to what they say so you can pick the right answer
nani1962 Actually it's because you can make choices that alters your characters personal history like romance and relationships and how you decide things.
So Syndicate, except you're stuck as either Jacob or Evie the whole game? Why not dual protagonists? Each campaign better be significantly different from the other.
Because dual protagonists rarely work, as Jacob and Evie demonstrated so well. Most of the time you get two mediocre characters or one who is good (Evie) and one who is extremely "meh" (Jacob). And why would each campaign have to be "significantly different from the other"? It's a gender choice they could have skipped entirely, giving you at least some choice in who you want to play as, and your first reaction is to bitch about it? Wow.
Personally, I fucking love Odyssey, but... Ubisoft is acting like everyone was asking for Assassin's Creed to become a Witcher 3 style RPG. When in reality, only a small portion of AC's fan base wanted that. Most players actually seem to prefer the more linear and cinematic style of the series before Origins. And as much as I'm enjoying Odyssey, I think I'm in the same group that'd prefer the older style gameplay. I'm glad Odyssey exists, but I think it would have been better as a different series, removing the AC name from it.
Origins is a step in the right direction but man does Odyssey look even more the same. The graphics are impressive as usual but the mechanics are the same as ever and Origins' combat has gotta improve as it's too easy to kill people and enemies are as dumb as ever.
these guys are always so boring...the 4rth guy is a little bit more alive than the rest. the first one is in a halfsleep state, and the middle is a statue. The three guys at the bottom are either dead or its just a photo of them staring.. rofl
This just isnt assassins creed anymore. I felt this way with Origins already but this time they didnt even bother to show an assassination but a war scene. The blade in the crowd fantasy that this ip was founded on is just entirely gone now. Its beautiful and representation is great but its just not the game i fell in love with with ac1. Well, the stealth genre has Hitman and probably Ghost of Tsushima.
lmao they showed an assassination at 5:45 you dolt. Thanks for proving you didn't watch the whole thing, funny how cry baby fans like you don't want series to evolve and just want the same thing over and over.
@@davidparkes7741 no Unity and Syndicate had very interactive cities in the form of 18th century Paris and 19th century London , as for Origins and Odyssey Ubisoft has chosen the RPG path for the franchise so that means big empty worlds with boring side quests
David Fakler .. It looks and plays NOTHING like the older AC games, wtf are you even on about, Origins already took the franchise in a completely new direction and this looks like it's diverting even further from the older AC games.
It actually follows Origins path. On the other side I dont think it has to be something bad necessarily. I mean Pokemon literally plays the same every game and they´re great games nontheless.
Steve Is it bad that I kinda preferred Unity over Origins in a lot of ways? I mean, I play AC more so to just feel badass than to have a rich expansive RPG, so I guess that explains it. Unity I feel was super underappreciated due to the bugs, but playing it for the first time recently it felt really good. The movement was so smooth and buttery. Anyways, this looks a lot more interesting than Origins world-wise.
This game won't even have a hidden blade or hood? Is this even an Assassin's Creed game? Just putting a piece of eden story into it doesn't immediately give it the identity of an AC game. I'm not a fan of this at all. First time I won't be buying a mainline AC game.
Dan Bosca this. It looks beautiful and representation is great but stealth was already a third wheel in Origins and the blade in the crowd fantasy is just gone now.
Char Aznable they had a unique kind of stealth that was less about hiding behind objects and more about merging with the crowd and called it social stealth. That always worked just fine imho.
It's not necessarily the stealth element that is missing from the identity, it's everything. Instead of the team using resources to improve on crowd stealth and bring it to the current generation, they're shifting their focus on loot, magic combat and dialogue options. Origins was a good step in the right direction. It had the hidden blade and Assassin's robes but included RPG mechanics to change things up. This gameplay just shows an action RPG and that's it.
You should probably find out more about the story before coming to such ridiculous conclusions. This point in history predates Origins, it is likely that this isn't about the Assassin order (it can't be) but in fact the origin of the TEMPLARS. I find that to be very true to AC and a worthwhile story to tell.
I well aware this is set before Origins mate. About 400 years before origins. Which is why there isn't the Assassin's hood and the hidden blade (which was first introduced when used to assassinate Xerxes). I've been a die hard AC fan for a decade (less so after Unity) so I know the history and lore of the franchise. Never once, in my time loving the franchise, did I want a game set in Greece because it has none of the things that make the AC franchise what it is. Yet here we are with a game that has none of the identifiers of Assassin's Creed but has all the identifiers of The Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn. Sure burrow elements from other games but don't just change your own game completely. AC is trying too hard now to not be AC.
I dont get it. Origins looks so much better still. This is just a copy. It wont even feel fresh with the setting cause greek culture was represented in origins already enough... hmm
guys, spear of Leonidas is a Piece of Eden, thats why is magical ;)
cheyyen yep ur right
That’s pretty obvious
This was like watching Dads get excited about AC and I dig it.

Looks amazing. Like the jump and refinement from AC3 to 4 (except Origins is already at AC4 quality)
It is set before Origins, nothing says different people in different locations and time periods couldn't be advancing towards the same goals or ideas (the Assassin's Order), they also could have different Pieces of Eden or similar artifacts.
GUYSSSS "Spear of Leonidas" is a Piece of Eden
I've been waiting for another AC I could get into just like Black Flag. This looks amazing.
Get Origins. It's literally the same game as this without dialogue options.
It also has seafaring? I'll def look into it for sure!
just wait for skull and bones. It takes black flags gameplay and perfects it without it being assassins creed.
Yes but no single player story/adventure.

This got me hyped to play AC again
I thought Ubisoft would learn that an AC game every year is way too frequent.
this is the last assassins creed for at least 2 years
You obviously ignored it when he said its been in development for 3 years
Yup so its release date is purely coincidental.
The next game is only in 2020
I hope the people screaming for historical accuracy in battlefield 5 have the same standards for Ancient Greece. #needsmorebuttfucking
Ok I’m interested when I wasn’t before the conference, they did what they had to
This maybe will be the best AC game
RE2 REMAKE BABY!!!!
So they got rid of the damage numbers during combat? Wonder how much it's different than the last game
So how did I stumble upon a bunch of guys in suits lol
Am I the only one who play these for the story?
Terrence Spencer nope I LOVED the story. My main reason for playing
+easyallies: will you be posting the entire Ubisoft Press conference?
Bear... 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Remember Spartan Total Warrior 👌

So a Spartan with no shield and a broken spear.... That is just not right.
*Broken spear with magical powers
If you want to wear a regular spear and a shield... just do it?
I believe they stated in an interview that they ditched the shield for this game.
Merwanor Probably because you have a generic weapon on one hand and the broken spear on the other one.
Mercenary from Sparta, not a Spartan soldier.* There's a difference between the two.
