Well the results speak for themselves.. good one mate
Works great on snowblowers also.
My mother used to hit me with a old wooden spoon.
I think cleaning the the bottom of a lawnmower with the wooden spoon is better
Same. 😂👍✌️
Were you bothering her while she was cleaning the mower deck?
My mother hit me with a hairbrush once and it broke. I laughed so she took her shoe off and hit me with that and it broke. Well, next she hit me with her hand and yes, broke her hand! Always yelling and screaming, that's what she gets! lmao
My Italian mother broke so many of those things over my head I used to think she owned stock in the company
Yup, that's why the neighbors sand box had a dozen of them buried in it.
Excellent idea! I hadn't thought of using this stuff on the mower deck. Thanks for the tip.
I know what I’m doing to my Honda mower deck tomorrow. Great idea & thanks for sharing.
Great stuff!! I have been using FF for years now! I put it on everything including my cast iron tops to my bandsaw and jointer! Great undercoating for your truck too! Thanks for sharing 👍
I agree about Project Farm. He’s where I go for reviews when I’m considering purchasing something. Loved your video! 👍👍👍
I use fluid film on my vehicles, bought 5 gallons. Never thought of using it on lawn mower, but I am going to try it. Thank You for sharing this video!
Looks to be a game changer. Let us know how it holds up over time. Thanks for sharing!
I wish I saw your video yesterday. I just finished cutting the grass so I will clean my mower deck and apply some fluid film for the next cut. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.
Hey friend I have secret I use a light spray of pam cooking spray it works good and is nontoxic to people animals and soil but after each use of mowing keep it clean down there and light coat of cooking spray
I've known some people use Dashdandy and those types of things but this looks much better those. Great info. Thumbs up 👍
Thanks for the tip. This is a new one for me.
Stay safe, Joe Z
I have been using Fluid Film for years. It works on mower decks as you proved but we have to spray them a few times a day because of the number of lawns we cut in a day. But I have never seen our honda xenoy decks build up that bad I wonder if different grass types build up more than others and I'M sure wet grass would build up more than dry grass. Thanks for sharing as always.
I have the same problem with my cub cadet mower, cleaned it out twice this year. Going to clean it out once more, and coat it with fluid film. Up here in rust belt Michigan I know guys who coat truck underside with that stuff, never thought to use it on mower. Thanks👍
I'm gonna have to give this stuff a try
Good Tip J, Thanks for the link!
Great idea! Going to be using this on my Ryobi rider deck.
I will have to try the wood spoon and fluid film.
Thanks! I’m going to use it on my Honda’s Xenoy deck.
Hello Sir, thanks for the tip on this product usage. I bought it and tried it on two mowers and it really did keep the undercarriage much easier to clean of. Saved me time and labor!!! Got the three pack as one can is gone already from the two mowers after three mowings... Safe product also. Just keep shaking the can and keep can upright as you spray, and use the red tube!!!
Will try that for sure, thank you.
Fluid film it is amazing stuff I see and I understand it works to prevent grass buildup but the easiest way I found is mow the lawn when it’s dry instead of being wet grass
Differently worth a try! Thanks much!
When you put your snowblower away for the season, clean, dry, and spray the auger box and linkages down with fluid film . It will not corrode over summer.
I used Fluid Film, and it didn't seem to last long. I then used Bar & Chain oil. It is cheaper and lasts longer. The oil was really good for winter storage, too.
Bar and chain oil is excellent for off season storage
I love fluid film.. Great product forsure!
Sold! I spend about 10-15 minutes running hose water through the deck at three entry nozzle points and I end up making a mess somewhere in the yard. I sure would like it to not stick in the first place. Good show!
Great suggestion. Didn't even cross my mind I'll use it next time I clean out my honda. Thanks for the tip. 👍👍
Great video! I'm impressed!
Nice video, totally doing this on my Husqvarna.
That's Great!! Follow up and let up know how long it lasts, once every season or 2 would be great.
The wooden spoon is not a bad idea but I find they break easy if not of OAK. I rounded the tip of a putty knife that helps clean the rounded contours inside of my mower deck BUT also clean the rounded bottom bowl of my WEBER KETTLE!
I use my power washer, 2 minutes and clean as new. Spray with WD 40 water resistant silicone last several mowings
Awesome video! I hate the grass buildup too. I have the Ego Mower 56V. I also have Fluid Film and will definitely use this tip!
Love the random pattern you use around the yard
Ever since you recommended Fluid film, every mower looks amazing. It shines plastic. Protects the deck. It's like wax for lawn mowers. All my customers get that extra wow factor. Had one customer say are you sure that's my mower?
I love the tortoise 🐢
Nice idea that works well !!
I first learned about FluidFlim on the Plow Forum. Folks spray the underside of their plow vehicles to keep rust down. Now I use it on a whole lot of things including battery terminals. It's a expensive by the can ($10, Lowe's is the only one that sells it by me), but a gallon is $40 and goes a lot further.
What have you found is the best way to spray it - when bought in gallons? Is it thin enough to spray via a "Windex-type" spray bottle? Or.......????
Excellent idea!
Great video! I am going to try it on my band saw table. Keep from rusting in my shed.
Works great in snow blower chutes an barrels as well.
I liked how when you sprayed the Fluid Film, you played the project farm music!
Free UA-cam music. Not project farms
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 I know any one can use it but it still was cool.
I really like using fluid film great stuff.
Awesome. Thanks!
I have used silicone spray the same way. Seems to work well.
The only 2 decks I have ever worked on, or owned that never had an issue with broccoli, is the snapper high vac deck, and some older toros.
I’ll give it a try! 👍👍
I usually use this on my mower before putting it away for the winter, my shed is a bit damp. Like I always say I'd rather having stuff all greasy than rusty.
we do it to our cars too great stuff
It’s kind of funny it turned out that the base material in fluid film is wax. While you were mowing I was thinking my go to is the pressure washer and after that dries liquid car wax, turtle wax usually. Liquid car wax isn’t the best option usually for a lot of things but when you’re lazy individual like myself that’s what you use. I use it to protect all sorts of things like make tools like my tablesaw top look beautiful and shiny and Wood just glides. Did I mention I hate rusty tablesaws!
Fluid Film works great on table saws also
He said it was "Lanolin" which actually comes from sheep wool.
@@bushmaster2936 which is wax basically
Ive never tried it. Looks like some slick stuff.
Got any videos on how to to check the fluid on a hydro static transmission and a 6-speed transmission checking the fluid
Have know about FLUID FILM for quiet a while I used it on all my snow removal equipment plows blower pusher boxes salt spareders great stuff great company some ultra serious slick stuff and penetrating properties as well
Would like to know how long it lasts between applications. Give us an update once in awhile.
Hey my friend, you might be mowing a bit to low..got to get some of that stuff great video thanks!
got to try this 😋
Good video….I have that mower, too….it starts immediately and runs flawlessly…on my its third summer. I think I’ll give your suggestion a try. But I think much of that grass build up can be prevented by not mowing wet grass, which isn’t good for your lawn or your mower. But that said, you may have to mow whenever you get the time - regardless of how wet the grass is. Also, I’m going to spray that product on the inside of my snowblower pickup and chute (I’ve used WD-40 in the past, but it only last one or two snowstorms!). BTW, brother…..very cool Oakleys…..They look great!
I love fluid film
Looks like the bottom of my mower.. Nice video..! It's like you coated the deck of the mower with Teflon lol
I might have to try fluid film on my new hustler zero turn I'm getting soon
For those that are contemplating doing this make sure to tilt the mower on the side that has the carburetor on the high side so that gas and oil don't flood the carburetor and disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
Incorrect always tilt the Mower so that the carburetor is facing the sky. And there is no mechanical way that the engine is going to start 😆😆😆😆
Typically, you'll flip the mower on its left side, while holding the handle bar. Also, the engine is not going to start unless someone is actually holding the bail/control bar.
Hooray, an American that correctly calls his garden a garden and not a yard 👍
I make it a point to *never* mow when the grass is wet & have *never* had to clean the bottom of the deck. This stuff looks good though! 👍🏼
In the video I clearly stated that the wet grass is unavoidable due to the septic system always spraying the field with water
I use a John Deere 140 with a bucket loader on it to remove snow in the winter. Using Fluid Film inside of the bucket keeps snow from sticking. This was a problem before Fluid Film.
I have the same issue with my new Honda mower. Called Honda and asked about it. They told me it’s a common complaint and told me that customers have been doing what you did in the video. I ended up purchasing a round shaped lawn sprinkler and attache it to my garden hose, sliding it underneath to rinse off the clippings. It works but makes a mess. I am thinking to install a single blade and see if that may help. I believe the two blade system Honda uses cuts the grass blades so many more times it cakes up the deck like plaster. I use my rotary in the winter for the season therefore mowing dry is not always possible.
Beautiful Tortoise! He will live a very long, happy life.
Beware of his natural enemies, they will kill & eat him!
Hawks, Eagle, owl, raccoon, some dogs. You can wipe his shell
with mineral oil or even Fluid Film, to keep it from cracking
& drying out. Make sure he has a cool shelter in the heat.
The "flammable" part of Fluid Film is it's *propellant*
(probably Isobutane) and that's what is starting the engine.
Under a mower sounds great! That plastic mower deck
is a brilliant idea, never rust out. FF should soak into
the pores of the plastic quite nicely.
Wife yells out ( Hey Butch after you done scrappen that grass off that grass cutter bring me back my spoon I gotta stir this lemonade I just made.
Wow! Thot it'd stick even MORE!! I JST LOVE MY HONDA TOO!! Wished they made lawn tractors!! My window air conditioner wouldnt move ( I leave it in window all yr), ANYWHO, I sprayed motor shaft with fluid film! Took some time but it loosened it up & its STILL running! I used PB Blastet,WD40, nothing worked!! Great video, I subscribed!👋 Great for undercoating ur vehicle!!
I bought some nano ceramic wax to do the same thing, but this seems much faster. Let us know how long the Fluid Film lasts!
I used to spend a lot of time on the sea (remote BC coast). I always carry a firearm out there, shotgun usually, and treat them with FF. Works well in very hostile to firearms environments.
You’re gonna be in so much trouble when she finds out what you did with her spoon!
For sure, Motormedic1 will need 🚑medical attention, like the video content!
50 lashes with the Suppe Loffel.
Hey hon why is my wooden spoon green?
Good tip, I'll have to try it. I have been neglecting my own equipment lately as I fix every else stuff :-) I have a desert turtle 17 yrs old but he hibernates in the winter. I think your breed never sleeps?
Sulcatas sleep all day pretty much.
4:00
I think your governor is toast....LOL.
That's the loudest mower I ever heard,I use a wire brush to clean the grass from underneath the cutting deck. That fluid spray works good I see .
Buy it in the gallon and Spray it on with a Wagner painter it will fuse it into the metal and last much longer.
In the can it is not as thick because it's aerosol based.
Fluid film there is nothing better
Great information. I will try it as my underarm deoderant.
The stank has a very hard time sticking with this method!
At least we know grass clippings won't stick to your arm pits.
Was hear
Good stuff
I’ve had a Honda mower for about 11 years now, and I have never had to scrape mine. I do however take a hose to it after every use
You don’t now in the environments that I do , I clearly stated that I have to mow thick lush wet grass
Cool
well I use pledge furniture wax and it works very well
Pledge is not biodegradable and will harm plants and animals. Try the fluid film you wont be dissatisfied
I use a nail ply bar works great
My way is just one of a hundred ways to do it
Most important, clean your deck before winter storage.Doesnt really matter what you spray on it,fluid film is excellent,so is motor oil.Grass is acidic to mower decks, thats why you see so many running mowers with rotted decks.
Motor oil will kill grass
Eric O from south main auto swears by this stuff...He rusts proofs cars with it!!!!
Great idea. Any idea how long it might last before needing to reapply it?
Every cutting I suppose
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 I HOPE it lasts longer than that... ???
I have had the same craftsman push mower for the past twenty two years and never had to clean under the deck. I also never EVER mow wet grass.
Congratulations you must not live in the south
I hope your not in trouble raiding the kitchen for the spoon. I have been curious about using fluid film.
Honda should have a cover over the clutch and belt area that’s bad ,jimmy australia
"Honey? Have you seen my new wooden spoon...?"
Ha! I use an old split piece of a canoe paddle!
hahaha you have the same music as Scotty Kilmer on the outro of this video.... 😁
Interesting: I wonder how well this would work on a snow thrower chute.
I use good old spray wax for that and it works great here in Iowa.
I'd power-wash or hose the underside, before applying the FF.
Nah
I would recommend waiting for the grass to dry off before mowing
Did u even watch the video? Smh
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 i did you said it was wet grass
Unavoidable wet grass.
Spray the blades too?
Not saying the F Film doesn't work but mowing wet grass alone will clean underneath your mower. I used to work at a golf course and had to clean my mower after every use. Days we all mowed in the rain the clean up was very easy. We didn't get to go home during minor rain, we just put on a rain suit and keep mowing.
Wet grass will stick to the mower not clean it sorry.
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 it sticks to a certain point but very light rinse and it's very clean after. Your mower was put away dirty and left to harden up.
Need to wash after each mowing.
All you needed was some "Benny Hill" music while you were showing the speeded up mowing !! Since the 'Fluid Film' is wax based, could you spray it on your car (or front window) to make the dust and dirt and rain and bugs just roll off ? Would it damage the clearcoat coating on the paint ?
Benny Hill you say, can we have the gals in the cute short skirts too? … oh yes and the quaint British accents too please!
Oh please redo the video with that going!!
That was a cool trick!!! LIFE HACKS! gonna use that or WD40 would work too i guess.
Has this man ever heard of a power washer?
