I finally broke down and bought myself a hf mower lift two years ago, and I absolutely love it!!
I love fluid film i buy the 5 gal bucket, and put it into a spray bottle. It is also good for hedge trimmer blades as it is a lanolin based product it will not burn or harm bushes.
I am impressed on two levels. 1, how well that fluid film worked. I will be using that on my 54" Deere and my 72" grooming mower behind my Ford 4000. 2, I think I was most amazed at the sane speed which you mowed. It seems like anyone with a zero turn believed grass can only be mowed at highway speeds.
I know some folks will say why not let the grass dry out ; well you can't always do that !That wet grass will rust your deck as well ! I like fluid film ,it stinks like rip though ! I like to use on my hedge trimmers !
I've been using the stuff for 2 years now and I love it....
I use a needle descaler, works great on cleaning the grass out of a mower deck
Sounds like a great idea...I'll have to try that! Seems like it would take forever on a larger mowing deck but it would be great for getting stubborn spots or areas you can't hit with your scraper blade.
I do like Fluid Film. Use it at work all the time. Thanks for the video!
If you started with a clean deck and then cleaned the deck right after mowing, wouldn't the grass come off pretty easy even without the spray chemical? I guess the question is: What is the end goal? If you clean the deck every time, you don't need spray, but if you are hoping to get many weeks of mowing done before cleaning the deck, that is another thing altogether.
Seems like you had some buildup on the non-discharge blade side after mowing with the spray. If you don't clean that off it's just going to get worse every time, right?
If you can show us the deck after a month or so without cleaning it and it still looks good, then I think it's beneficial. Otherwise, what is the point?
Good product demo that will add years to your deck. I have to give it a try.
As always another 👍 # 19
Stay well, Joe Z
Ive got a can of this stuff and a JD to service before the mowing season starts. I'm definitely giving this a try.
I worked at Adult home. We used fluid film on all our mower decks and snow blowers. I also use on my ego mowers and snowblower. It works great!
Well done Jeremy the importance of deck maintenance is almost as critical as using no ethanol fuel. At Eliminator Performance (EP) we strictly use Rust Cure 3000 which is a drip less spray and too much is worse than just a little light coating. Once per year is all you need and it sets up a protective barrier between the deck and the moisture in the grass. Regular cleaning is required as you have shown but this stuff seems to work well enough with yearly application. It is also one of the full service items we do on mower and snowblower service.
using ethanol fuel is fine as long as you do not let it sit
I hear that’s good stuff. I reached out to several companies and fluid film was the only company that would work with me
@@joshmanis9860 100% correct josh it is not to be used during storage and actually all pump fuel should not be in the system during storage. Total drainage of all pump fuel is required to store any equipment. At Eliminator Performance we run out our no ethanol fuel and put in alkylate fuel which is expensive but anything will start up for 2 years. Actually have a two stroke snow blower that fired up with alkylate 50:1 mix in it after sitting for 3 1/2 years.
@@waynestefinashen239 yea I’m poor and can’t afford no ethanol but I run my stuff year round
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 All our trucks get undercoated annually by our local mechanic and we buy the spray cans on sale by the case at Peavey Mart which used to be TSC. Used to pay $5 on sale last case was $7.50 per can on sale, expect to be paying $10 on sale next purchase. As part of our service it makes a little profit and keeps the customers equipment from rotting out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I've been thinking of applying Fluid Film to my Zero-Turn and Tractor belly mower, and you made up my mind for me.
I wonder how long itll be before you have to add another coat of fluid film?
WOW!! I think I'm as excited about that stuff as he is.
Great stuff thanks for sharing…👍👍
Maybe try standard blades . Use the high lift in summer? That’s what I do. Helps a little bit.
I got Spartan RZ PRO and love it. Dose at great job, best mower I ever bought.
Need to get an old hockey stick to clean your deck 👍 That spray really works have to try it !
Used Fluid Film last year on my deck looks like I never even mowed!
I use it on my snowblower. great stuff.
Oh no Mower Medic, now it's going to blow off!!🤣🤣🤣👍
I don't do riders in the shop but have one myself, I will give it a run. Good video!
Park mower on tarp before cleaning deck. Place jackstands under deck...never trust any jack. Easy cleanup and keeps Fluid Film overspray from being a slick spot to walk on.
this is interesting, can u do a review in about a month? thanks
I ordered a can of this to try. Hope it helps. Do you really need to spray your deck after every mowing or will it last for several mowings?
Try the Rust Cure 3000 that is all we use at Eliminator Performance on our full services. It is drip less and do not spray on too much, less is better. Regular cleaning is suggested but we have found decks look the same with one application yearly. By the way we are not sponsored by them it is just a great product.
Looks like this would keep the chute from clogging too.
I know a guy! He uses PAM on his deck. No, not me. I may need to find the fluid film though. My JD has the deck cleanout fitting, so i use it.
Good information. Try a mixture of blue dawn and water on those ants. Here in Ohio I use sticks and empty acorn shells to clean mine. Lol
I put that sh$t on everything lol works great on battery/cable corrosion too 😊😊
Once ya clean hit with pressure washer i do that each spring on my 23 yr old mower 2nd set of blades and 2nd belt
Before you stick your hands under the mower deck don't forget to unplug each spark plug lead.
Also I've had a harbor freight mower lift for a few years now.
I've made a pin to install in the lift holes like you did because I don't trust the safely dogs that came with the lift, use both the dogs and homemade pin.
Safty first.
Keep the vids coming to Pittsburgh Pa.
God bless 🙏 you and yours.
Hello from the other side of Lake Erie from us at Eliminator Performance who are Buffalo Bills fans but love to get together tailgating with the Pittsburgh Steeler fans when they play each other. Normally the Pittsburgh fans outnumber the Buffalo fans when they play each other.
Maybe after several treatments, it will be seasoned and work even better
Is there a certain reason you went with Spartan over another brand?
Good stuff, where do you buy it?
Also does Harbor Freight still sell the mower lift and are there different sizes?
Thanks.
Google would tell you all this in seconds…
@@kc9146
Yeah I know, but it won't be half as friendly.😁
In Canada we can basically buy it at any hardware store and the USA should be not different. Even auto parts centres in the States should carry Fluid Film.
@@waynestefinashen239
Thanks Wayne.👍
What is the name of this stuff and where do you get it 🤔. Also would wd40 work?
Used motor oil works good too
Bad for the environment
@@THEMOWERMEDIC1 100% correct extremely bad
So what
@@philliphall5198 Thanks for your reply all of the small engine mechanics i know respect the environment and dispose of their hazardous wastes in a proper manner. They even store them safely so we do not create another Eastern Palestine
Get yourself a grass buster or just modify a cheapo putty knife first. I have been wanting to try that Slip Plate stuff that is supposed to last up to a couple seasons. Problem is though I never get to use my own mower because I have mowers to test before I sell them
:)
I'm going to be applying Slip Plate No. 1 to my brand new zero turn this week to see if it's as good as folks say.
@@mellowjammer Please follow up and post the results
Need some goats for all those weeds no grass to be found maybe slight fescue
I agree and it’s what I use
Love it plus I can sale them
You need to get some more critters to eat all that grass.
It didn't work for me😢. I wash and scrape my deck after each mow.
😆💪💪💪keep on mowin brother
If you can find Rust Cure 3000 give that a try works great for us!
No longer than that will stay on just use Walmart brand cooking spray.
got weed control???
Ah but nothing like the smell of chopped onion when your mowing, makes me think of the old days when i grew up on the farm. Marcy you gotta remember that if some of us kill our weeds we would not have much green on our lawns eh?
What is F L I U D film? 😆🤪
This is really sensationalism. My father bought a USED snapper when I was in 2nd grade. I am 57 years old now and still using that same snapper with the same 7 hp Briggs on it. Never once has he deck ( a stamped deck no less) ever been cleaned out a single time to my knowledge. And I'm the guy that has maintained it and used it at least every single week of the grass cutting season(s) since, so i should probably know. that deck, though it doesn't have much paint on it anymore is still just wonderful. and the Briggs still runs like a top! IF you want to be a complete NUT about cleaning your deck, there is no way I could care any less. But trying to fool other people into using some product you endorse is pretty offensive when your approach is to scare them into it. Especially when your lawn looks like a pasture more than it does a lawn. You sir don't have a lawn you have grass growing all over the place. I do like your harbor freight lawn mower lift though.
My Snapper had an ALUMINUM deck. If you can believe it, it NEVER had a speck of rust.
@@davecaselli1957 You are kidding, aren't you????
Jeremy dont force or scare anything on his veiwers. Instead of hating on a good person why dont you take your boomer ass to the shed and scrape that grass off your aluminium mower deck.
I’d
Love
That
Glad that's been your experience, but I doubt its the case for the majority of people using newer riding mowers. Here along the Gulf of Mexico in far south Alabama, the accumulation of matted grass has to be removed after almost every cut to prevent the deck of my 2016 Craftsman tractor from rusting. I neglected to do that for a year and now the deck has been compromised. I don't cut early or after rains because the tractor's not strong enough to power through it and will throw a belt, so I'm not cutting wet grass. Seems like the quality of mowers may have changed since you acquired yours. You might consider that before making accusations.
Well you’ll had chickens so why not 3/4 female goats ??
Unfortunately doesn't last long in this application....
It doesn’t have to last long just to get you by in the wet cutting season wants the grass gets dry. You can cut it without application of this product.
