A city full of magicians would be promising but, oh no, they are now good guys and no chance of proving anything anymore.

Eh Magic is a loose concept and varies a lot depending on where you take it from. Magic in GATE is a tad bit grounded and is able to partially compete with standard issue modern weaponry. While Magic in something like DC comics basically allows to you warp reality and alter creation on a fundamental level at the highest levels. Both are magic and are equally valid.
Nah, i really think kingdoms would actually gain grounds considering the military structure in most african countries are not that established like the west or asian countries. The successful combine arms operations of the JSDF is to be reflected to the NATO combat doctrine, which mostly talks about synchronization by almost all branches of the armed forces. JGSDF alone did a successful job employing both army aviation, mechanized infantry, armored units, special forces, Anti-Air units and artillery units on one operation.
I feel one of the most glossed over aspects of this anime even though they practically spell it out for us is that in the first attack against Japan, a LOT of people die. Like from the looks of it, it seems to have the same scale as the 9/11 attacks. And then we go "haha tanks go boom boom" and forget about it until that one episode and then literally 30 seconds later it's "haha his teeth flew out".
I like Gate because unlike other anime where humanity is at war with a technologically superior foe, or on the same sci-fi level as the enemy, it instead flips the trope on its head making Humanity the superior ones with nothing more than standard military equipment against technologically outdated antagonists who think they can challenge us.
*SPOILERS:* After the Pina's Pro-Peace is formed Zorzal's Pro-War launched multiple guerrilla campaign against the JSDF, the JSDF suffered very little casualties while Zorzal's forces loses all their ambush units, later the JSDF and Pro-Peace launched a gigantic Blitzkrieg operation easily destroying all of Zorzal's vanguard and rearguard forces in a single day. Hilariously after losing more than half his forces and utter destruction of his fortresses in a single day Zorzal delusionally claims "its a minor set back."
Finally an Anime i can watch whitout questioning the unrealism of everything. It makes me mad to see an abrams whit enouth power to kill 15 persons whit one shot die to an bunch of guys whit swords and arrows, give credit to this creators, they put realism above fantasy

A knight armor had problems with stopping an arrow, it would have NO CHANCE against something even as simple as a 9mm

A dragon would be no match for a jet, being slower, bigger, barely manouverable and having a giant heat signature (the fire inside of it) would make it very easy to target with heat-seeking rockets
Modern military would sweep medieval military in a day, they would probably even consider saving bullets to not waste as much ammo...
In the story the only thing that was a threat were dragons due maneuverability and armored giant orcs. Both of which are extremely uncommon and a non-threat with enough firepower. A city full of magicians would be promising but, oh no, they are now good guys and no chance of proving anything anymore.

In a episode the US actually sends CIA agents to capture some of the people from the medieval world in a houe they are staying whit the main characther but china and russia do that too and theres a fight and then they all get killed by a demigod girl from the other world whit just a sword or smth seriously the anime is only good for the first few episodes.

Magic in GATE is a tad bit grounded and is able to partially compete with standard issue modern weaponry.
While Magic in something like DC comics basically allows to you warp reality and alter creation on a fundamental level at the highest levels.
Both are magic and are equally valid.

Nah, i really think kingdoms would actually gain grounds considering the military structure in most african countries are not that established like the west or asian countries. The successful combine arms operations of the JSDF is to be reflected to the NATO combat doctrine, which mostly talks about synchronization by almost all branches of the armed forces. JGSDF alone did a successful job employing both army aviation, mechanized infantry, armored units, special forces, Anti-Air units and artillery units on one operation.

I feel one of the most glossed over aspects of this anime even though they practically spell it out for us is that in the first attack against Japan, a LOT of people die. Like from the looks of it, it seems to have the same scale as the 9/11 attacks.
