Not food related, but definitely a deal. I wanted to buy a pink little Tikes coupe car for my granddaughter. Brand new it’s $55. I found one on Offer Up for $25. The same day we went to a child’s birthday party. The mom has a playroom for her kids that is stuffed full of toys and she is just started the decluttering process. One of the toys she was goi g to donate was the exact pink car I had been looking for. She gave it to me for free! We took it home and washed it up and now my one year old granddaughter is enjoying it. Such a great find. 😀
What a blessing Valerie! That's wonderful!
So i know this is going to sound CrAzY but try substituting a chocolate cake mix instead of a spice cake mix! I promise it is DELICIOUS!!!!
Sounds great! I will!
I make the same cake recipe EXCEPT I use a can of apple pie filling, rather than pumpkin. It’s another good option. 👍
Sounds great!
Hello neighbors glade you could have her next door...GOD'S JOY for everyone my friends...🙏.
I have been looking for a coffee table for our family room for months. I wanted an antique and didn’t like any of the new ones I saw which were no less than $250. Last Sunday we went to an antique shop and we found a little table for $65! It was a kitchen table and all we had to do was cut the legs down and it’s the perfect coffee table! I was so excited and it’s just what I pictured!
YAY! SCORE! So wonderful you found just what you wanted!
On one of my FB frugal groups today, a woman posted that as she was leaving CVS, she saw a sign for 90% off summer items. She went back into the store and found lawn chairs for $2 ea. She called her husband, who was out in the car and asked if she should buy all 12 in the store. He told her “no, we already have 8 and there is only the two of us. Too funny! I’ve been tempted to buy clearance items because of the price. Now I think about where would I store them, when and who would use them. I much less impulsive now.
This couple sounds just like me and my husband. He would tell me that I could I only sit in one chair. Lol.
I saw that comment a well
Debi Morsette loved your story!!🤣🤣
Debi so true LOL! Only buy if you will use it and need it!
buy them for Christmas gifts
Hi Emmy and Paul, I saw a 2 lb bag of brown rice for .50 recently and wasn’t sure what I would make but couldn’t pass it up. On Sunday I told my hubby that I was hungry for stuffed green pepper soup but needed peppers. The next day my neighbor rang my doorbell and asked if we wanted some veggies from his garden and he said it was the last from it this year. I said “you bet we do” and opened the first of three bags and it was full of mostly green peppers and a few red peppers! One bag was full of onions and the last had cherry tomatoes. I am making the soup tonight and I have a lot left for other meals. What a blessing to have such sweet generous neighbors. ❤😊 As always, love your videos and thanks for all the encouragement to stick to our frugal way of life.
Oh that is a true blessing! How wonderful! I bet those vegetables are even more delicious because of the kindness that came with them!
You cannuse that brown rice pretty much anywhere you would use white rice. Brown rice tends to be a little chewier than white, especially the instant rice, take a little longer to cook, and have sorta, kinda a nutty flavor (its the germ that hasn't been removed to turn it into white rice). It is great for rice salads and in casseroles, especially chicken casseroles.
Going to try that delicious pumpkin spice cake. I think a cream cheese frosting might be a great addition. 😍
Absolutely Shannon!
You got some awesome deals ! With Ian coming in , I kept out of all stores. I am out of the cone here in the Panhandle. But prayers are appreciated for Florida.
Absolutely Kim!! We are praying for you all!
Delicious looking cake and pretty bowls, nice combination. So glad you scrape the bowl. Hate when I see cooks waste all that food when they don't scrape the bowl.
LOL! Yes, I overscrape sometimes!
Well as I have stated before I am limited to one store a month because I use a cab to get there, I tend to procrastinate it's an off shoot of depression, I never had depressed day in my life till I was robbed in 2012 and valuable clocks, silver, china, and my car were stolen over $100,000 and insurance only gave me 12k back. I lost everything from both sets of grandparents, and my parents, and all were antiques. So recently my motivation has disappeared, so I started paying myself for chores, and the money gets banked. Have a great week! cool bargains!
I know how you feel , Kitt. I’ve been the victim of crime more than once and it does mess with your mind. May you have only good days going forward.
@@returnofthereasoner3200 Thank You for your thoughts
Oh gosh Kate I am so sorry to hear that! May goodness only come to you from now on my friend!
We have a birthday this week, so I made the pumpkin spice cake and added grated carrot, raisins, and a little cinnamon. I made a simple icing with confectioner's sugar with a little lemon juice. It was a big hit all around. Thank you!
YAY! Love to hear that!
We needed paper towels. We don't use a lot of paper towels. The last 2 pack I bought lasted at least a year, to give you an idea. Anyway, I get my prescriptions at CVS and they give you "rewards money" (plus I get the "Extra Care" $5 for purchasing 10 prescriptions but I need one more for that) for shopping there. I don't shop there for much because their prices are actually pretty high for most things. But, with the $3 off "rewards" coupon, I got a two pack of Scott paper towels for $1.34. It will last us at least a year.
The really great thing is I got another $3 coupon for that purchase. We need Toilet paper. I'll be going tomorrow to see if I can get another great deal on TP. Plus, I'll look for summer clearance items! Thanks for the heads up!
I always love seeing that sweet Dixie face.
Barbara our local CVS had 90% off summer items! Great deal on the paper towels!
LOL loved watching Paul do his Vanna White presentation of the umbrella! Awesome
He's such a riot!!
I always shop thrift shops, and this week I found small baking dishes for small portions. for $1.00. That was a Big Bargen! My small little market had T-Bone Steaks on sale for$4.99 a pound. Which is unheard of. They had a limit of 3 this was their loss leader. I bought 3 then went back to the store the next day and got 3 more. I brought them home, cut the meat off the bone, into steaks, then froze the steaks and the bones for soup. I could never eat all that meat in one sitting. I got 12 steaks, 6 bones for soup, and 2 packages for stew meat. That was amazing Bargen! I love watching all your videos. they are great!!! That umbrella was a Big savings for 2 bucks!!! I will be looking around for the discounts when I go out shopping this week.
Great money saving tip on the meat Nancy! Thanks for sharing!
At our local Brookshire’s (East Texas chain) snagged a 5 pound bag of russet potatoes for 97 cent on a loss leader!!!
That is an amazing price!
Your neighbors were such good sports being on camera! 😀
They totally enjoyed it!
Wow, you got lots of great buys. Today I used a $10 off $40 purchase coupon that came in the mail from Fred Meyer (Kroger). They sent a postcard with four $10 off coupons for four weeks. This was the second week.
Paul modeling with that new umbrella was the best thing I’ve seen all day! 😂😎 Love it! What a deal. 👍
He is such a riot! You never know with him LOL!
Watching your and Paul’s channel is like going home to visit with life long friends! Love your insightful tips and viewer tips. So fun to watch you both!
That's how we feel too! Thank you!
Listening to you in the beginning reminded me of my childhood. My nana was a seamstress in the factory and would purchase material in bulk, so she made many dresses for us over the years. Since I had a sister she would make the same dresses and we would dress alike. When I outgrew my dress it would be passed down to my sister and her original dress would be donated….The poor thing could never get rid of that dress! A few years ago nana passed and we were cleaning out the house and we found rags in the same material as our dresses. My poor Sister started to cry and said, “ I thought this dress was out of my life forever but here it is again as a rag!”❤. We laugh about it now.
Oh how funny! My Nonna was a seamstress here in Mt. Vernon NY. back in the early days!
I've made that cake a few times and it always comes out great! We use the recipe for morning muffins too.
Sounds great!
We Had to buy a new dryer(24 years old- the old one). But we've saved 100 Euros ,because we're gonna Pick it Up ourselves.
That's wonderful!
Free for registered family birthday at one of our grocery chains. Snagged a free Betty Crocker cake mix, Hallmark card, bakery cupcake…
Most chains have birthday rewards for loyalty programs
Oh that's wonderful!
Loved this video, as always! I was at The Dollar Tree found what I needed, on the way out I spotted Hallmark cards 2 for $1.00. So I pulled out my calendar and bought birthday, wedding,, and anniversary cards for the next year.5dollars for 10 cards. That would have been over $30.00 according to the regular prices on the back of the cards!😊❤👍👍
That is one of the best Dollar Tree items there is!
Great deals. I'm addicted to Coke or Diet Coke. My only indulgence!!! Our local Super 1 Grocery Store had 12 pk of coke products for 2.97 each with a limit of 4 cartons. I got 4, my husband got 4, and we went back several times during the week. He said,"baby we got you fixed up". It was a great buy. The normal price around here is 4.97.
LOL! I love your husbands saying!!
We were given a brand new mattress my sister-in-law purchased for her guest room but then she moved and couldn’t take it with her. At the time, my hubby and I purchased a cheap no frills basic bed frame for it as this would also go into our guest room. So for the last few years I’ve been wanting a padded headboard to make it complete. We have out of state family coming next week for a vacation. We were in the At Home store shopping for cushions for our dining chairs when I found a perfect padded headboard for 50% off! Only $65. It was even in the color I wanted. That purchase was a no brainer. There were only 2 left in stock so we grabbed one.
Isn't that wonderful when it happens! Love that! You were patient and you got it!
That sweet, little ending to the video warmed my heart! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Isn't she amazing!
I know you you probably got the cake mix and pumpkin on sale so that cake probably was under $3. Looks so good. Yummy
Oh Yes!! Always lol!
I do that cake mix hack and make muffins all the time, you can also use bananas or Applesauce 😋
Thanks!
Today at Academy Sports and Outdoors I found shorts and shoes for $2.50 each, a shirt for $1 and more clothes for under $5.
WOW! Great deals!
Last Friday after work, I stopped by our Goodwill and found five great quality sweaters! It was such a blessing because I know I will get use out of all of them.
That is awesome Nikki!
Your sweet neighbors are such a blessing and I’m sure they feel the same way about you and Paul. ❤ Yay for game night! Super fun and economical entertainment. 👍😁
They are so much fun!! We are blessed!
Hi Emmy, this week I found eggs at Aldi for 2.19 a dozen. This is the first time in a long while that I found eggs under $4 a dozen. (Even at Walmart). I usually shop at Shoprite, Aldi, and Walmart as they are all on the same street near me. This week I only went to Aldi. They recently remodeled this Aldi and ever since it reopened, the prices have been much higher. It used to be cheaper than the other Aldi's in the area. However, on this trip, I noticed the prices are starting to go back down. I hope this is going to continue so that people don't have to struggle to eat. Thanks for a great video!
Yes I hope so too!!
I live in Maryland and there's a Lidl in Frederick. Supposedly, it's Aldi's biggest competitor. It's very similar to Aldi, but I think it's a little better than Aldi. Unfortunately, it's about 25 miles from my home and Aldi is about 3 miles from my home. But, I've found some good stuff at Aldi too!
Every week I get an Aldi sale paper in the mail. Every week the Aldi store near me has prices MUCH higher than listed in the paper. I learned to go online to Aldi on Wednesday morning and look at the weekly ad but put in a different zip code to compare the prices at the different Aldi stores. If I drive three more miles, I can often save $5 - 15 on the exact same items. If you have trouble putting in an address, sign onto the Aldi website in private mode on your computer. You might have to sign in several times to compare three stores, but it will be worth it to find the best prices.
Another great vid. Your neighbors seems so nice!
They are wonderful!!

yall are such an adorable couple and your husband is so cute with the umbrella. glad this video was suggested to me! I also love your accents, we don't hear that much in texas. Kim
Thank you so much Kim!! Hope you come back and visit with us gain!
Wow! Those brown organic eggs were a great deal! Yes. End of summer sales are great.
Yes they are!
That pumpkin spice cake looks delicious and super handy to keep on hand for visitors. Thank you for sharing!
It really is!
The spice cake with pumpkin is one I make often… it’s featured as a weight watchers recipe… I make mini muffins like this 👍🏻
Sounds great!
Walmart had Christmas peel and stick gift tags for .10 cents a pack.
I got a beautiful coat for $1.00 at our local Community Aid this week too.
Love the videos Emmy, Paul and Dixie. ❤️
That is awesome! Thanks so much Jody!
Walmart is in the process of selling through older cans of thier Great Value veggies and bringing the new label at $.98/ can. Two weeks ago, I got a 12 pack case of canned beets at $.58/ can; we're pretty tightly budgeted and it was an unplanned item. Today there were no more beets but, they had older label 29oz cans for $1 so I bought the remaining 20 cans; the newer label, 15 oz cans were $.98.
Oh my! Dollar store increased their canned goods about a year ago. I will be stocking up on Great Value before the increase. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing that Terry!
@@juliatepe5760 look and pay very close attention. The other day there were 3 price points on 15oz green beans, w price points on corn, and 2 or 3 on peas (the cheapest peas out were $.38). I got my $.58 beets and I think pickles beets were $.85 or so; about $.30/ can different. There were no 29 oz, family size cans I dint think; there were of cornmonky yesterday. The labels at each price point as ever so slightly different except for the new $.98/ can labels which have a lot of color and show multiple vegetables.
My Kroger store had 5# russet potatoes for $.99. We picked up 5 5# bags.
WOW! Rhonda that is an amazing price!
Emmy and Paul, thanks for sharing the fun moments! Cake is awesome!
Thanks so much Helen!
You look especially pretty today, Emmy. Falll colors are your colors - your lipstick even matches your blood! LOL Thanks for the easy cake recipe.
Thanks so very much!
While I do so, I don't know how to make clothes, but I want to learn. I like to quilt and make table runners and aprons and those types of things. I was given some tablecloths free that did not fit my table so I cut them up and I made some aprons and I made some cloth napkins. And I still have enough fabric to make other things as well.
That' so creative Jennifer!
I had a great day for frugal finds last Friday. I got 4 bags of oatmeal for $1.98 each, soup at 69 cents a can, and toilet paper at half price. I was also able to get $10.00 off with loyalty points. I smiled all weekend. ☺
That
's amazing! Good for you Donna!
Thanks for keeping us informed!
Thanks for watching Beth!
We found some tortillas on the bakery reduce rack. We eat tacos weekly, and I eat wraps often. I used to freeze them all the time, but they have been coming out soggy lately. So I just purchase them fresh when on sale and store them in my fridge now. 😊 We used half of them for leftover breakfast tacos yesterday. The other half will be used for the remaining left overs for breakfast tacos or quesadillas tomorrow for my husband and our kids. I always check our clearance areas. I try to leave x amount of our grocery cash for items we need/use that I can find marked down. So many people are struggling, its getting harder and harder to find good deals.
Yes, you have to be on the look out constantly!
I make a similar cake but use a box of brownie mix. Make the cake in big mugs so it makes individual yummy molten lava cakes. The frugal option is two heeping tablespoons of both the brownie mix and pumpkin puree. Stir , cook for 90 seconds, stir and cook for additional 30 second intervals until it's done to your liking. A fun topping is white chocolate chips and fresh raspberrues and or vanilla ice cream.
Sounds absolutely wonderful!
Such a great video! Thanks for the fun ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
LOL Isabelle is a hoot! She must've seen the video where you tricked Paul 😂After coupons, rebates and bonus cash I was paid $1.48 to take $27.52 of dog food and treats for my Granddog out the door of Rite Aid today :) Sending a care package to FL as soon as it is safe.
WOW! That's so wonderful!
I found solid pack pumpkin for $1.00 per can. Campbell's tomato soup for 50 cents a can. Canned ravioli for 69 cents a can.
Tomato pasta for $4.99 a gallon. It's in the freezer. I just scrape off the amount I need for the pasta.
WOW! Some great deals Karen!
Just love your posts❤😊
Thanks so very much!!
Love seeing Dixie 💕….wow…your cake was Paul & Isabelle approved….Paul has competition! QVC came to mind when Paul was demonstrating the patio umbrella….if he ever gives up his day job, there’s an pitchman waiting to emerge 🤗 thank you for great tips….
BHAHAHAHA! Honestly, so funny you should say that! I always wanted to be a QVC host LOL!!
I always look for deals around the holidays and stock up turkeys, stuffing, potatoes, canned veggies. Cake mixes and baking items. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching Renee!
I will have to try the cake recipe. It looked delicious. Awesome clearance finds! Have a great week
You as well Jodi! Thank you!

Thanks so very much!!
Loved your oven dish.
Thank you 😊
Great job!!
Thanks so much!
That cake looks good!!! Definitely trying it ☺️ thank you 🙏 Mrs. Emmie
Thanks for watching Liz!
I am going to try your cake this weekend. Sounds so good!
It really was!
Loved the video, beach umbrella is fabulous xx
We were so excited for that price!
Great deals an cake looks good.
Thanks Steve!
Shopping off season is always a good idea.
Absolutely!
I found the toilet paper for the same price ….got it …😊❤️🍂🍁cake looks delicious I LOVE pumpkin anything
Great deal on the TP for sure! Thanks!
Costco purchase for boneless pork chops 1.39 a pound. We live about 15 miles from our shopping so we try to go in for more than a few items when we need them. We do have a big Meijer store 4 miles away so this really helps save gas and time.
WOW! $1.39! Great price!
This would be a great recipe to make if you want a cake, but don't have eggs.
I use to mix chocolate fudge cake or devils chocolate with the pumpkin and my family loved it .
Oh that sounds great!
Love your videos , look forward to them every week ,let's see more of gorgeous Dixiebelle love to you and Paul and stay safe and well ❤️ ♥️
Thank you! Will do!
What a great video!
That looks like a good cake!
I haven't spent anything this week, since I've been home with Covid.
It looks like you got some great deals though!
I'm feeling a bit better finally.
Oh I am so sorry to hear you were ill! Glad you're better!
Loved the advice at the beginning of this video.
Dixie looking as beautiful as ever.
😊 thank you, she is a Diva!
Love the cake recipe.
I bought Scott tissue just like you did. Twenty rolls and 1000 sheets on Amazon and yours was a slightly better deal with the digital coupon. Mine was still a good price!
Great!
I've been looking for those 90% off batteries. I haven't found any yet but I keep my eyes peeled. I'm glad you found some
Oh I hope you find some!
That Isabel is a cracker!! 😂🤣 I laughed and laughed. BTW, putting the cake in a 9” pan might have required the eggs to get the rise!?
Yes, she is a pure delight!
Fun video!!! Oh how I love your pyrex bowls! I didn't find any deals this week. We just don't have the stores you do for food shopping. And what we do have is very high priced. Gonna make that cake tho, looks delish.
The cake was wonderful!
I like to shop Kohl's Dept. Store! There is clearance of over 80 percent?! You stack their coupons that have 15 or 20 or 30 percent more than clearance price!!! Shop only their clearance! And stack offers for almost free items! Example hoodies that retail regularly 38. to 50. Dollars each 1.27 each and free shipping! You watch all offers for best deal! Good-Luck! God-Bless!
Sounds wonderful Karen!! Thanks for sharing! God Bless you as well, thank you!
What a great haul
Thank you! 🤗
MAN, YOUR HAUL WAS AWESOME! :) GOOD FOR YOU! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Thanks so much Dawn! CVS really blessed us LOL!
My Safeway had a 2 pack of frozen, premade pie crusts. They were in the clearance freezer. I ended up paying 50 cents for 2 pie crusts. I used one for chicken pot pie, which I topped with mashed potatoes.
That's a great price Judy!
I make those as spice muffins. They are so good!
So yummy!
You did great. The eggs are amazing.
Thanks Dawn! I was so excited lol!
Thank you for the Dixie footage! Ahhhh! Precious angel! Love you two!...I mean three!!!
LOL! Thanks so much Lisa!
I like simple cake recipes.
Me too Patricia! Thanks!
Love your game night treat. I will look out for the mix. We do not have them much here in uk but occasionally I will come across some on sale. They are quick and convenient as you say. Pluse as I need to organise them sometimes using applesauce or pumpkin is ideal. Thanks for the idea.
So happy it was helpful Suki!
Your shopping was unbelievable. Well done
Thanks so much Josephine!
Great video! I have had the cake before and was wishing for the recipe as I forgot the exact amount of pumpkin to use. (Delicious) Thank you. 🌻🍁🎃
So glad the video was helpful Judy!
People over things? YES, AWESOME! :) People have to get back "in touch" with people--making a phone call, versus always texting, your time versus stuff! Go back to how it used to be.....Fine video! :) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :) WE'RE WITH YOU!
I’ve made this recipe for years except I make muffins. It is so delicious to have with a cup of coffee.
It really is!
Thanks for the tip about CVS. Mine didn't have anything labeled and when I asked they poited me to a section where things were either 75 or 90% off. It was pretty picked over but I found fast charging phone cords, reg price 14.99 marked down to 3.75. I got 2 and with my $5 extra bucks they came down to just shy of $3 for 2. Not bad!
YAY! That's wonderful!
I love your simple fun recipes! I want to copy your purchases from Shoprite and Stop and Shop, thank you Emmie and Paul!
Hope you can find everything! Some of the SR specials were last week!
At my Winco they have boneless skinless chicken breasts for $1.97 a pound!! I bought 4 value packs and will freeze them. I love your videos, they keep me inspired to look for deals, and save my money. I'd love to see a video on holiday consumerism and how we are so pressured to think we need to go all out with decor, baking and activities.
We've been eating a lot of Winco pork loin (?tip) roasts at $2.28/ pound. We do another Winco run, which includes meat, the first week of October.
Cindy that is absolutely coming! I promise! That chicken was an amazing deal!
I am fairly new to the frugal shopping technique of shopping the end caps for the best deals. Two places in the store that I always check are the reduced meats and the reduced veggies and fruit. Yesterday I found a large family sized pack of cubed steaks, which was originally marked $19.29. It was reduced to $10.91 because yesterday was its sell by date…!😱 I took it home, cut up the large pieces to manageable portions and then put them in vacuum sealed bags for the freezer. That’s one of the best deals I’ve found in a while!
I love Ball Mason jars--so glad you snatched those up. They are really versatile. Thanks for this great video…..❤️Brenda
Brenda great deal on the meat!!
My mother had that little blue bowl you used for the pumpkin - part of that classic set but the rest were gone by the time I came along. I would love that cake, i'm a huge pumpkin dessert fan. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks Emmy. :)
It really is yummy!!
Thank you for the video. I made the cake and it had really good flavor and was moist but it was crumbly. Next time I will use eggs or a flax egg to hold it together better. 🍁🍂
So sorry. Our was really moist.
oh Emmy another awesome video and the cake looks delicious 😋 Paul modelling the ‘brolly’ totally put a smile on my face..sweet neighbours you have and Dixie as always steals my heart.. I haven’t been to the shops this week so no good deals to report. God bless and take care..love from me all the way from Sydney 🐨♥️🌈🙏🏼
Thanks so much Ms. Tracey! 😊 God Bless you and yours as well!
When you cut up the celery, you can put the bottom of it in water and it will start growing from the middle. Love the cake idea!
Sounds great!
My good deals for the week? Knorr stock cube packs for 10 cents each, kerrygold butter for 1.50 each( cheaper than even store brand, and my favorite drink mix for water was 75%off. ( can't remember exact numbers). Now that I don't buy just because it is on sale, I feel much better about my purchases. And I got them at Walmart of all places. Usually their clearance section sucks
I agree totally! Don't buy just to buy! Great deals!
For me this weeks bargain was a pair of brand new Koolaburra winter boots for $20 at Goodwill! Food prices are still very high in Tristate NYC. Eggs at Aldi’s are $4.29!!!
Yikes! $4.29?
Emmy, do you know what would also be great on the top of that cake? Home-made pumpkin butter! :) Yummy! Awesome...recipe....:) Dawn @ Rich & Dawn in MN :)
Oh yes it would!
This cake reminds me of crockpot dump cakes but has 3 ingredients, but are delicious!!
oooh? I'm intrigued and will have to look into that now!!👍
Oh sounds good!
